Not even slightly over, Traxxas will still sell more TRX-4s. If FMS sales become a concern, Traxxas can lower their prices. The brand is too big and too smart to be outdone simply by a brand offering a lower price on a copycat product.
FMS has become my favorite R/C brand with their innovative designs and great value. I knew they're going to come up with something like this that would shock everyone just like what the TRX4 did five years ago.

Your enthusiasm is infectious Francis!! Can see why you're excited about this rig. For the price that's unbeatable. Only thing missing is a winch. With all the driving modes, High/low speed, Portals, Contra rotating driveshafts (that's rare for an RTR) decent servo, lights and a nice polycarbonate body... I love the drag brake on the fly... OMG that's awesome!!!! Yeah I'm sold. My heavily modified SCX-10 doesn't have all those features but damn it cost a pretty penny to setup.
Awesome review rc brother, FMS continues to impress, all vehicles can use upgrades even the 700 dollar vehicles need upgrades. The fact that it already comes with so many nice options makes it a great purchase, can't wait to add it to my collection 🙏✝️☮️
That is a gorgeous truck and an impressive list of options. I'm not big into crawling and don't have a ton of room in the collection but I'll likely buy this just to look at. I picked up a TRX6 G63 last year on impulse that I've been looking for a reason to get rid of. I think you just gave me one.

Great truck, really nice looking. If it had straight axles, I might have grabbed one. Never did see a blazer with portal axles. Love the optional rear 2WD setup.

was hoping to hear about what size servo could fit in it. how about motor and gearing? links? all the standard stuff we'd look at to upgrade. a deep dive into that because the weaknesses are fairly dry; need equal pros and cons. frankly, over engineered for crawlers. too expensive for kids. too many gimmicks and its going to hard to work on when one servo goes bad.

Wow FMS! After your video I bought the Unimog With oil dampers, modified in the look and made a nice video into Dolomites. I have to say that FMS surprises you with quality both in materials, and project The Unimog is ready to receive more things than expected, (LED housings). This one has my favorite body and I never bought the Traxxas one because the price here in Italy too high. I'm thinking over! Ciao and happy 100.000
Those that twin stick their 4x4 can do front wheel drive in some vehicles, my Jeep YJ has a Dana 300 that is twin sticked and it can drive on fronts only if need be such as snapping a rear axle or digging etc.
I just ordered the Blazer online. I'm new to RC vehicles. What is the best battery to purchase for this rig? One that will fill the battery compartment...
@@RCReviewChannel there's nothing wrong with it technically, but most 1:10 bodies are meant for 200mm wide bodies and 313mm wheel bases. That rules out using a ton of aftermarket bodies on this platform right out of the gate unless you want the wheels to stock out 25mm on each side. The extra 10mm in length isn't a huge deal though.
I like it! But do they have to use yet another American body! The blazzer has been done so many times now it’s so boring. A Nissan patrol or something would be awesome!

I have more than enough crawlers at this point but I can think of five or six I would buy w my $400 before this thing after this gigantic "shot across the bow"Traxxas will do what they always do ignore competition and trends and then every now and then bring out a model that reinvents the industry trx4 trx4m slash stampede 4tec erevo emaxx xmaxx i mean come on. it comes up every single time one compares quality products to Chinese competition you save a lot of money short run but you get what you pay for.
Agreed 110% this thing is brand new and people saying it’s better than trx4.. 1: still nobody has posted a video of them together on a crawler course actually proving it’s better. 2:It’s been out for about a week,so nobody can attest to longevity. 3:Aftermarket support?Parts availability? If I break something on my Trx4 I can run to a Hobbytown and be back riding in like a day..something breaks on this thing,I bet it sits for at least a week waiting on parts…my local Hobbytown sells FMS vehicles but never have any spare parts

You lost me at axle mounted servo.....and that body with cab off looks horrendous. Yes loaded with features and price is unbeatable, but that's not everything
This is a trx4 clone. There is nothing new or exciting besides the light kit. Idk what’s so exciting about it. We have had all these features in the current trx4 for years now🤷♂️😂 and being from Fms, this should have been a hardbody with full interior, opening hood, doors and tailgate. Not another floppy lexan body that won’t last with normal use.
They copied traxxas on 99% of that rc, but the body looks like crap and I’m a huge square body fan. I’ve had some of the fms 1/18 crawlers, and their electronics suck and parts availability sucks too. I’m good honestly I like the redcat crawlers anymore, they’re better and cheaper.
Thanks for your feedback. Very little of it makes sense though. There are so many more feature than Traxxas and it is significantly cheaper than the TRX4. This is easily the best RTR radio we've ever seen and it's 11-channel even. The TRX4 servos/esc/radio are sooo terrible. Redcat is good but it's no near this level engineering at the moment.

FMS has some really noisy ESCs. I got a TRX-4M and man that things quiet
I really hope this is a wake-up call for their crawler line. Repacking the same chassis for 6 years doesn't do them or the rc enthusiasts any good.

I've had a TRX 4 defender since they were introduced. This is all I love about my TRX4 plus more. I'm getting one.

Honestly fms and redcat has stepped up. The gen 9 Imo is the closest to this fms. Both 400 with 2speed trans. Gen 9 also comes with the 42kg servo

The color of the headlight is period correct. i wouldnt change them. There is something about the door windows that just isnt right.

It's a weird choice to make it a 324mm wheel base with a 250mm width. That rules out a ton of existing aftermarket bodies sadly.

Yep, the body is a disappointment. But now we have another great platform and hopefully more variety in bodies in the future.
