One of things I love about how the EV market is how it is turning the manufacturer rankings on their heads. I much prefer this to the ID.3 for instance and who would have thought Kia would a luxury brand with the EV6. The early experience for Renault is really showing in the car, great review.

I agree, they are ticking the right boxes IMO. (a lot of) Actual buttons, a relatively light car for being an EV in it's size, very usable range, and they ditched the horrible Renault GUI with TomTom maps. Renault's 'no-nonsense' seems to be making a return..

as a writer, i can vouch that paper and pencil have it over touch screens in a few ways: i can draw an arrow or other indicator where i want, pointing where i want; i can write "over" and use the other side of the sheet when needed; i can cross out a word or phrase, replacing it with another, yet be able to see the original if i want. it's actually a more versatile, superior medium. and i love tech, especially writing programs, how easily they can be edited. but gimme an index card (folds, hard to lose) and a pencil, and watch out shakespeare!

But I have to say, recently I acquired a remarkable2 eink pad and I have to admit, it feels super neat and even though hard to admit is superior to my best pen and paper options in many ways.
Compact, good writing and drawing feel, you can move things around, work with layers, the different pencil styles really achieve the right result. Give it a shot.

I actually think this might be one of the most important EV's to come out for quite a while now. Not because it's particularly groundbreaking or amazing, but because this is a legacy automaker taking a legal model and now saying 'Right - this previous ICE model is now only available as an EV'. Not 'we're taking this legacy model and producing ICE, Hybrid or EV versions (Peugoet e-208, Vauxhall mokka-e)' or 'We've got specific ICE models brands, and then new EV models brands (VW and Nissan) but just 'Hey, that was last years Megane, this is this years now. It's a big statement on the transition over to EV's now.

I would much rather you didn't fly at all and made a point of it. You say it's the only way of doing things but that's the kind of thinking that has got us into this mess. A massive proportion of flying is done by a very small set of people. It might be normal to people within it but it's fanciful to the rest of us. Every one ticket sold on every flight is a vote to stick with the "climate change lifestyle status quo" and frankly whether you're apologising when you do it or not makes very little difference. We need to exercise two mental muscles to avoid the extinction of our species on this planet: creativity and obstinacy.

I agree......plus more complexity, more assembly time, all at additional cost to the end user.
If a power boot doesn't have a foot sensor it is of no more benefit than pressing a button, It doesn't make any sense.
Once having pressed the button you have to stand around, usually in the rain holding heavy shopping bags whilst waiting for it to tediously motor open. I can open the boot, put in my shopping, close it again, get into the car out of the rain quicker than a boot powering open.

Charger location in the front like the ZOE makes sense, charging location near the front not much.
A charge connector on the street will typically be at the left or the right of the parking space. A car with connector at the back parked backwards will easily reach the charging station even if it located at the 'wrong side'. A charging location near the front parked forwards is further from the charging station. Your cable must cross the bonnet if the charging location is on the 'wrong side'.

You flying to test a car has probably less CO2 output than the car being shipped to every other country, for every press member to have a chance to test it.
