2017 Eagles was something special. Carson Wentz went down to an ACL injury, and then comes Nick Foles leading that team to a Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots and that play called “The Philly Special”

I don't remember Seahawks doing the play, but the pats did it twice once against the Ravens or them and then tried, but failed in that game everyone calls it the philly special cause it won em the SB. It's like when people say oh I'll OBJ this ball or I'll Gronk spike it or Moss you or Primetime it all these moves were done before these guys just slapped a name to it and marketed it.
A lot of people don't talk about 1983 Los Angeles Raiders pulling maybe an all time upset on Washington Redskins. The 83 Redskins were the best team in NFL with a 14-2 record, defending Super Bowl Champions, Joe Theismann was the NFL MVP, led the league in points differential at +209, and an NFL Record (still stands today) at +43 in Turnover differential. So for the Los Angeles Raiders to go to the Super Bowl, with backup QB in Jim Plunkett and 2nd year RB in Marcus Allen, to beat the historical Redskins to 38-9 is a tremendous upset and amazing accomplish by that Raiders team.

That 2003 Patriots team was actually pretty mythical. The entire reason the Patriots became a dynasty came from how the team developed that season. In Week 1, they actually got shut out by Drew Bledsoe and the Bills 31-0. It was so embarrassing, it forced the Patriots to reevaluate their culture and attitude. By Week 17, when they would face the Bills again, they would not only get the Bills back, they would shut them out by the exact score of 31-0. Pretty spooky. Lol

@Harry Engel nah. 98 was still the better one. The 69 team's offense was inconsistent as hell. One game they would drop 40 and the next 3 they would only score around 15 to 20. Joe Kapp was a great leader but not a great player. Their defense did almost all of the dirty work the whole season, and so when it came to the Super Bowl, they were really exhausted. Also, if you watch the game itself (it's currently available on TH-cam), you'll see the Chiefs D exposing the Vikings' offense. The 98 team never had that type of problem. The only reason they lost is because of a missed FG and a failed defensive stop.
Its 2020 and i still haven't gotten over that loss to the Falcons. I never will. Along with the 09 team against the Saints. True, Devastating heart breakers
The 2017 Eagles will always have a place in my heart. It was my first season without my grandma and we won it all. Granted she was a Panthers fan I wish she wouldve been here to see it

My Old Man was the biggest EAGLES fan I ever knew. GOD REST His Soul. He never got the chance to see them win a SuperBowl. When they won that game I cried because I was so proud of that team. And I thought about my father smiling down on THE EAGLES that night. I knew he was at peace. FLY EAGLES FLY!!!!
Can they quit blaming Anderson for the 1998 Viking's choke? I mean Anderson did choke but so did the defense who let the Falcons drive all the way down the field for a touchdown at the end of the game. Then both the offense and defense choked in overtime. Whole team choked. It was a group choke. Anyway maybe they weren't just quite that good. Denver destroyed the Falcons in the Super Bowl and Minnesota coudnt even beat them at home.

Best football team I've ever seen to not make the Super Bowl other than maybe the 1990 49ers. The 87 49ers were a big disappointment too when they lost to Minnesota at home in the playoffs...the Anthony Carter game. The 86-88 Bears were a big disappointment also. They lost at home in the playoffs 3 years in a row...to Washington in the Divisional Round in 86 and 87 and the 49ers in the 88 NFC Championship

I agree. That might be the best team I've ever seen in my lifetime as a football fan. It would be the 07 Patriots if they could've beaten the Giants in the Super Bowl. But as a Bills fan there's nothing more I love seeing than the Pats lose a Super Bowl so I was pulling for the Giants even though I hate all New York City sports teams. The Eagles were already my favorite NFC team because I hate the rest of the NFC East but now I like Philly even more after they knocked off the Pats in SB52.
So many losing teams in these 100. Nice to see the losers get acknowledged too.

The 83 Raiders should be ranked way higher than #33. They destroyed the defending Super Bowl champion Redskins who had the highest scoring offense in history at the time and the league MVP. The Raiders dominated them and dominated the playoffs that year. Definitely a top 10 all time team.
The Oilers got shafted by the refs on that Renfro TD catch in the 79 AFC Championship against Pittsburgh. The 79 AFC Championship was basically the Super Bowl. The Steelers and Oilers were the best two teams in the NFL that year

Those 1990 Bills were incredible. Marino and the Dolphins put up 34 points on them in the playoffs and they still lost by double digits. Top 5 best team to not win the super bowl for sure.
Probably the best team ever to not win the Super Bowl other than the 07 Pats. The 98 Vikings, 01 Rams, and 13 Broncos are definitely up there too

I feel like the 98 Falcons are kind of disrespected. They were 14-2, only one less game behind the Vikings, and beat them in Minnesota when it mattered.
They looked like a joke in the Super Bowl though. Basically like a mediocre team that got really lucky and then ran into a real team. But yeah 14-2 is no joke. So i dunno.

the facts that any of the 1970's steelers superbowl teams aren't in the top 25 at LEAST is disrespectful. The greatest, most dominant defense the league has ever seen with some of the most powerful offensive weapons ever, and one is 43rd and another 39th? wow.
The 2017 Eagles were good but I think the 2010 Packers with Aaron Rodgers, Greg Jennings Jordy Nelson etc & that great defense (15 ppg allowed) is a better team. BJ Raji, Clay Matthews, Charles Woodson, 2x 2nd team All-Pro safety Nick Collins, 2010 pro bowl CB Tramon Williams.
Well that’s what made the Eagles team have a better legacy , they had a back up as quarterback and were regarded as underdogs by everyone , yet they still beat the best dynasty in football history

2003 Patriots not as good as the 2004 team. '04 had a much better offense with Corey Dillon at RB & Dion Branch in his prime & healthy David Patten, along with the great defense. The team was more dominant. In the playoffs they beat the #1 offense Colts by holding them to 3 points. Then beat #1 seed Pitt who had the #1 defense by scoring 41 pts. Beat #1 seed Steelers 41-27. Then beat a great Philly team in the SB

I said that on an earlier video. You have 100 seasons to choose from (more if you count AFL seasons) so surely the 100 "greatest" teams by definition would all have won a championship. This list should be re-titled 100 most talented teams.

The 2003 Patriots are a microcosm of the entire Patriots dynasty. That season was way more impressive than most assume. Week 1, they actually got blown out by Drew Bledsoe and the Bills 31-0... but here's the spooky thing. Week 17, when they faced the Bills again, the Patriots shut THEM out... but also it was by the exact same score of 31-0. Kinda let's you know how that teamed developed into one of the most dominant teams in the NFL. Combining 2003 and 2004, those Patriots actually hold the longest win streak of like 26-0. If you ask me, those Patriots were even better than the 2007 Patriots.
Even though 2003 was the 2nd super bowl for the Patriots, in many ways this is where the Patriots as we know them now began. The 2001 team was one of the all time Cinderella/feel good underdog teams at a time right after 9/11 when everyone loved America.
The 2003 Patriots:
-Signed Rodney Harrison after he was released from the Chargers.
-Days before the opening game Belichek savagely cuts Lawyer Maloy.
-Get blown out in season opener as mentioned. This leads to the media including Tom Jackson saying the team is done and hates their coach.
-After starting 2-2 the team wins 15 straight games, doesn't even trail after thanksgiving until the 4th quarter of the super bowl.
-In the super bowl their league best defense gets touched by Jake Delhome of all people. This includes one of the greatest super bowl catches, an 85 yard td by Mohammad.
-Tom Brady saves the day with a legendary and kinda overlooked performance with 32 completions for 355 yards and 3 touchdowns.
A lot of recurring themes regarding the Patriots start with this season.
@@robertholston4708 yep. Exactly. That 2003 Patriots vs Panthers Super Bowl was awesome. It started out super slow, then both teams just exploded offensively. Tom Brady leads another classic game-winning drive and Adam Vinatieri kicks the game-winner.
Also 2003 was the Monday night game in Denver, down 1 in the 4th quarter with the ball at their own like 2 yard line. Belichek elects to take an intentional safety to be able to punt from further out. Defense gets a stop then Brady gets a td to win the game.
