- For this project, I built a bionic arm completely from scratch out of inexpensive and recyclable materials. Every part of the arm is handmade from materials such as ice lolly sticks, cardboard, craft foam, a water bottle, fishing line and more.
As this was my first time delving into electronics and coding them to function, I had to self-learn several skills such as building electronic circuits using an Arduino board, programming them using the Arduino programming language and building moving parts that interacted with the electronic components.
The project has seen through the creation of three distinct bionic arms with each improving upon the flaws of its predecessor.
Currently, the most recent version (below) is controlled by a transmitter glove. Whenever the wearer of the glove moves their fingers, the bionic arm will mimic their movements.
Now THIS is cyberpunk. Prosthesis that are capable of being produced by a consumer. I commend you for this. You have truly embraced the spirit of cyberpunk itself.
This video is *SO* underrated!! Thank so much for sharing this!
True that.
Not only his video, his channel is also so underrated, he has just 800+ subscribe 🙂 it's so less as hell... Like that's why people feels disappointed when you done a hard work and you get very less benefits
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it :))
Fun fact is that we are of same age, although a year younger but we ended up making the same thing.... Congratulations brother
I am now 17 years old and will begin to study biomedical enginering vecause I love prosthetic hands
@@lapanteonrose4832 that's awesome!! All the very best
@PixelPursuits1 the best thing which u can do is to 3d print the casing it does not cost much, the rest can be done using a microcontroller like arduino and some tensile strings, servo motors and that's it for a low budget one
My friend really is changing the world
When I clicked on this video I asked myself why this video doesn't have more likes or views but then I remembered that almost everyone on TH-cam can't do half the shit this person can
Dude this is so cool! The fact you *self taught* yourself how to code and build an entire arm is crazy
Exceptional work, especially considering you've taught yourself from scratch. Very commendable, you have a future in electronics design (if you want it)
Thank you so so much!!
HOW DOES THIS NOT HAVE MILLIONS OF LIKES!?!?!?
They purposely don’t allow maximum exposure
Wow Surya! Really very proud of you... Next step is for you to make this a viable proposition and help millions of amputees to lead a more normal life 👍
Awesome. I've watched many robotic hand projects closely, yours is original and the way you think is clear and systematic. You have a bright future, young man.
Thank you so much!!!
194 bucks and it looks better than the majority of big budget hands out now
:))) thank you!!
Wow! Blown away Surya. Keep being this creative and you will truly change this world for the better!
My man doesn't know what's impossible! Much love homie!
Thank you so much!
Oh my God... I don't know what to say. Magnificent work. 👏 🙇♂
Edit: I remembered the line from Iron Man 2008 = "Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave! With a box of scraps!"
Dude, you literally built this thing with a box of scraps. You have my full respect. I would work with you.
You started this super project from scratch and achieved a great result!
You are a true genius applied in projects to help others.
I wish you much success in life
Thanks again!
Amazing. Keep at it and never stop advancing. You're one of those people that's going to have an empire one day.
bro this guy is a genius im actually planning on making my own bionic arm and this video has suplied me with much needed ideas and advice you really should take career in robotics btw
mans solving the one of the worlds single handedly (very underrated)
are you still alive?
I really likz this video because i was searching for a sort of mechanism to make my own but with a 3d printer. This helps alot you deserve a like.
I really appreciate the support!
you deserve so much credit for this, really inspiring
Excelent project, but... where is the tutorial? you are a inspiration... you can be a master of billions!
Unfortunately I don't have a tutorial for this, thank you so much for the support though!
Name itself defines "The Surya" proud of you
You're insanely impressive man!
Have you released final parts plans? I would love to get these printed locally.
you could put rings on your toes that connect to strings that connect to a micro controller that controll the fingers individually. you can develop great levels of control over your individual toes with enough practice and even do it while walking normally.
that is actually insane!
Super da kanna, hats of to you surya....keep rocking...all the very best and heartiest wishes to you dear .
This is totally cool bro ..I'm inspired to build my own ✍️...I like it
This video will blow up soon! Very well done!
He's a highly trained professional
Fantastic work, Surya! Genious doesn't require a huge budget and you have proven it! Much love, a like and a subscription!
Absolutely brilliant
Thank you!!
Well done Surya.Keep rocking.
Pretty good for someone as early into the topic as you are. Good luck to this or any other of your future endeavors.
Now that right there is a true engineer! Well done mate!
Awesome evolution . Good Job
For 17 you bro make great project.
That is excellent Surya. I like how you use the bending strips to control the fingers. 👍
Oh my god this is amazing
You could have a successful TH-cam channel teaching people how to do things like this.
I am really impressed by your skill and way of thinking!
Thank you very much!!
Nice job, keep it up!!! This project is amazing and the fact that tou made it with a reduced budget makes it even more special.
Dude this amazing! Great work.
Парень ты гений!)
You are INCREDIBLE! Thank you
FAB !!! Awesome, great work !
Its very cool that you stated The success criteria. It is very important in Any project
Nice design bionic arm
Great work Surya, honestly! It would be SO SO helpful if you could kindly upload a detailed tutorial. I would love to do this for amputees.
Having a 3D printer I think would aid you a lot with coming up with a more sturdy model. Being this is great work. Hope you receive enough funds to get one.
Fantastic work Surya. Beautifully explained and amazing creativity. Keep it up.
Thank you so much!
Fantastic Surya very thoughtful project to be proud of!.. Very well done 👏 👍 👍
Amazing. Very creative use of the compliant circuits
Excellent work. Thank you. Wish you the best
this is incredible, you have inspired me.
You are brilliant! I was very impressed with your ability to construct this technology with a limited budget and make it so realistic. Is there any chance you will create a leg next? One with an ankle that can jump and stand on tiptoes? Many people could benefit from a new leg as well and it could be a fun project for you.
Amazing! You are going to do great in life In’sha’Allah. Subscribed.
Excellent. Congratulations on the study you have done. I personally think you should use motors with the encoder to get the feedback. But you are GREAT
You're an amazing person. Keep up the good work!
Well explained. Congratulations and best wishes to you surya
It’s really amazing what you have achieved, really fascinating to see young teenagers working on STEM projects, these innovations really make differences in day to life’s of many life’. Well done and god bless you!!!
Instead of flex sensor if u use ecg or emg sensor then it will be more cool and helpful
This is super cool! I am making a prosthetic arm just like this for a school project that might get a scholarship so i can go to MIT so this is super helpful!
WOW, relly impressive!!! well done :D
Wow! What a great arm! I have a science project competition coming up and you helped me out quite a lot 👍
Wow, fantastic project! You're going places!
Wish you great journey bro
Looking forward your creative ideas and works content in this channel
*Random kid makes bionic arm that can move with his arm*
Meta (multi-million dollar company that makes VRs): "We cant make motion tracking gloves!"
That is so cool!
It’s amazing what people can make with relatively low money.
wow well done mate
Hope everything goes well with project
Amazing work man! This is the kind of thing that I as a second year electrical engineering student would definitely love to give a try, but I would not have had the initiative to try learn to do all this at the age of 17 😂
Uno de los morito mas smart que conocido en el mundo para las protecis mobibles
YOU'RE A GENIUS HOLY SHT
Duuude, that's so freaking cool!!! Right now I'm on my way to building a small size robotic avatar and this video is definitely a gem for me, thx so much!!
Bro that looks so advanced and soo cool im studying engineering at 13 so this is amazing to me
Bro you are amazing 💝
You are amazing brother... ❤️I am also 17yrs Old... can you please give me a suggestion that what i have to do in this stage for creating this like things... I know multiple programming languages like python,c++. but dont know how to develop this like things .I am more interested in this... so please.. 😔give me a suggestion or make a video on this bro...
Hello Surya, This is fantastic and super cool. Excellent explanation and meticulous work... Keep it up.
This guy reminds me of IRON MAN❤❤
AMAZING!
Man this dude is a genious
Can you please make a video on how u made the hand from popsicle sticks and the materials used?
R U Kidding me?
That's amazing, keep going !!
Great video :D I have a question: Did you measure the grip strength and maximum holding force?
Those numbers would be really interesting to compare with other prosthetics :)
Cool!
wow, amazing job!
my cat is missing an arm and i want to make her one. Surely it would be a bit easier since cats dont really need to pick things up like we do or move fingers
wow man ı really envy you
Nice job men. I wanted to build it, but i see everyone using regular motors, i want to make my own linear motor with plastic tube with coil warped around it, magnet inside that pulls fishing line. I think it would be a lot of smaller and better, you can make series of smaller linear motors in tube.
Has there been any progress on this? This was one of the cooler hands I've seen!
fantastic. You are brilliant!!
Awesome work man, I did build the Ada hand from open bionics but it costs a lot to get the right components and stuff and also the youbionic model with micro servos as well but your model looks at better and also cheaper , do you have stls or other things one could use to reproduce your hand ? Again awesome job man
W design bro
Great!!!!!!!!!
Great video and even grater project! How are you improving this design? You are very talented young man and I would also like to make a hand that would be useful. If you designed this hand with 3D printed parts, I would like to replicate it, if you let me have enough information to do so. Thank you very much!
Nice I've just ordered 5 flex sensors to design one as well.
This will really help me.
