It would be cool if they could somehow make a hyper-fast super arcadey sonic game that somehow worked effectively at this speed, I guess, similar to how PacMan championship works? Only more complicated than that obviously lol. Some easy pattern in the game that just required a strong memory lol idk. Could be fun :P
Sonic never runs at his full speed, the games framerates would drop so much if they did.
He does run at full speed though, hes shown visibly breaking the sound barrier. It's common for the players perception to be slowed down in video games.
@@PuffyBuffy25 Yes, the speed they show us in games is merely simulative, an example of this happens when we perform Boost, the Sonic Boom phenomenon occurs, showing that Sonic breaks the sound barrier and manages to go beyond. The official is that Sonic can be supersonic, in addition to having other official data showing that Sonic can run at the speed of light or even be faster than it (speaking of the canon version of Sonic in games).

Sonic doesn't run at the speed of sound. I thought sonic fans would know that he runs at light speed. The Japanese manual says something about running anywhere at light speed and in the game his light speed dash being 390 spd while max speed is 3900 spd. 9 times faster. (Edit) the max is 3800 spd I am pretty sure.

Tbh, Sonic is exponentially massively faster than light canonically. Now people can see why they don’t add Speed of Light things except Light speed dash or attack to game play mechanics because it would fuck up the game.

@@thatperson1009 nah Sonic's top speed is very inconsistent. And game mechanics wise Sonic can only move at the speed of light but remember games ain't always accurate to a characters actual feats. Sonic can move at the speed of light, heck Omega even said he surpasses it. Game mechanics sometimes are inaccurate for example in Sonic Rivals Everyone moves at the same speeds when in reality Sonic and Shadow and maybe Metal Sonic would easily outrun everybody. Tails and Espio are fast but they are still outclassed by Sonic and Shadow's speeds they can at somewhat least keep up with them tho

He does, it just gets greatly slow downed in the gameplay that we saw. He's of course canonically going much faster than what we see.
The fastest that Sonic can go in Unleashed is 3,519 SPD. This means that Sonic's top speed is (based on statistical measurement) 6,051,022,551 mph (9,738,181,485 kph) or a little over 9 times the speed of light. And Super Sonic is way way WAY faster than that.
