Not really, the sun in TES does not provide heat, nor is a ball of superheated plasma undergoing nuclear reaction, the sun in TES games is just a hole in space to where magicka is, the aethereum. TES physics are quite different

@@mannamoth918 pyromancer builds are still formidable with other magics they are just better with fire but fighting a enemy with a high resistance to fire is pretty stupid to fight it with fire when you can use a another spell like frost and kill it faster EVEN as a pyromancer
Personally, I prefer the Dawnguard for two reasons. A: *CROSSBOWS.* I LIKE CROSSBOWS. B: I hate everyone in Volkhair and find it incredibly cathartic to slaughter them all one by one.

I never became part of Harkon's fan club, till now when I have downloaded my first vampire mods and the same time a video came out telling the good things of helping vampires.

I find it interesting how he didn't mention how you can side with the dawnguard, get all the supieror side quest loot and then have serana transform you after and thus get the best of both worlds.
You miss out on the upgraded bloodstone chalice , which , when combine with vampire lord can allow you fight even during daytime. You simply can't run out of magicka , stamina or health in a fight as a vampire lord if you have blood of the ancients and the atronauch stone active.
I choose the Dawnguard almost every time because honestly I lose nothing joining them, while I lose quite a bit joining the vampires. I lose the Huskies and the enhanced Dwarven Crossbow with elemental bolts by joining the vampires. However you can become a vampire after you have done the Dawnguard quests just have to ask Serana to turn you into one. Can even use the bow to black out the sun as well. I like to role play as the Dawnguard version of Alucard from Hellsing. A vampire that hunts other vampires with the human vampire hunters, and looks badass while doing it.

Honestly, with my first character, who I played with the express purpose of simply seeing as much content of the game as I could, morals be damned, I sided with the Volkihar, and it is a reasonable decision to do so if it aligns with your character's morality. When playing a morally good character, it's more fitting to side with the Dawnguard. When gaining power, one must consider the kind of power their character should gain. I completely forgot about this. Wow, I was really triggered last year. For good reason, though. I'm not a fan of people supplying others with misinformation, game or not. Especially in a game like Skyrim where there are still fans that (unless they're trolling) think the Stormcloaks are the better side in the Civil War (God, I hope they're trolling). Also, I had nothing better to do at the time and was recently replaying through Dawnguard, so all of this was fresh in my mind. I still stand by everything I said. I'm currently on hiatus in Skyrim again, because I have a large backlog of games I should really catch up on. (KH Re:CoM - KH3, AC Brotherhood - AC Odyssey, All the DOOMs, Resident Evils, and now Age of Calamity is at the forefront of all of that. And my job has me working 10 hours for 14 days straight starting tomorrow... Yaaaaay.

I only play as a Vampire because I love this overpowered Vampirelord skills, like lifting your enemies up, pull them to you and do some damage, and than throw them away like a puppet. But I prefer Skooma over blood 🧐
I'd like to refute what you said in the Dawnguard section of this video, you took rumors about what the Old Dawnguard did 500+ years ago and used that as if it were a valid point. Real life example; What bad things did the Italians do 500+ years ago? Well since they did those bad things centuries ago therefore they are still bad. I call BS. And the part about the Dawnguard sending one single person (The Player) on every single quest, well thats a gameplay element to give the player more stuff to do in the DLC, its not a canon piece of lore, it simply adds to entertainment. Wait how does what the original Dawnguard did have any effect on the current day Dawnguard? They hadn't existed for 500 years. This is a completely new Dawnguard, hence why every second guard says "heard they're reforming the dawnguard" It's been reformed, it's not a continuation. I really want to go against the Dawnguard. But I love my Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow too much, If there was a way of getting it with joining the Vampires I would, but there isn't without mods and I don't want to cheat. As it stands I have never done the Vampire side before and I want to, but I can't because of my need for that damned Crossbow. Also. You can become a Vampire lord any time with Serana on the Dawnguard side, the quest is the same length as far as I am aware, Serana takes your side no matter what side you are on. You can do whatever you want in both castles once you are done, and you get weapons on the Dawnguards side. If anything the Dawnguard has more content. A major issue with this video is that you don't realise you can become a Vampire Lord on the Dawnguard side. I have a feeling you haven't played the Dawnguard side at all.

I tried but it literally wont let me, my Questline broke on the Character im currently playing, so the one time im gonna try the Dawnguard side the games like "Nah fam, you KNOW what you wanna be..."

She'll have the offer to make you a Vampire Lord again after completing the quest line, no matter which side you took and not specifically for the Soul Cairn.

One thing I want to correct: yes, just like there are patrolling vigilants you can find dawnguard patrols. They do roam skyrim and not "let you do all the dirty work"
First, I hate the constant debuff from the vampire lord. Second, I really like the crossbow with the explosions. Third, you CAN be a vimpire lord from EITHER questline! Just ask Serana! You get to keep her too! I have done the vampires and am in the middle of the Dawnguard. The Dawnguard has been WAY more enjoyable and seems to have more content than the vampires. I'll/give you that lorewise, the vampires stick with their side better, but gameplay-wise, I see no reason to ever join the vampires. And if you really want to join the vampires, but you also want that nice and shiny crossbow, Harkon gives you 2 chances. Say no the first time, finish the side quests for it, then say yes to Harkon the second time.
I joined the Volkihar vampires but not with ill intent. My legitimate playthrough character is a good guy so I don't feed on mortals unless I find it necessary or I just feed on the cattle in the castle instead. What about the bow? I refuse to soak the sunhallowed arrows with blood and just use them to make the sun shoot lasers from the sky. Genius, I know.

You should've named the video 'Why I chose to destroy the Dawnguard' because you were very subjective in this video. To me it looked like you were trying to make people chose the vampire side just because you like it more. You left out some good things about the dawnguard, and some bad things about the vampires. For example, ARMORED TROLLS!! Who wouldn't want a pet troll? You can have them if you side with Isran. Other good things you can get by joining the dawnguard are better crossbows and explosive bolts. Don't forget some other cool weapons and armour, and the huskies. A bad thing about the vampire lord, or just playing a normal vampire is that you don't regenerate stamina in the sun, which is pretty shitty if you play a warrior build. In my opinion, the vampire lord power is good if you play a mage, and bad if you play a warrior, but of course, everyone is free to choose. Most of us watching you already know all about it, but for those who don't, it's important for them to have all the Informations before choosing. It was cool watching the video to find out your opinion about this, but I've already played both sides and I won't be influenced by you. The argument about the dawnguard's history is pretty bad. Thier history doesn't matter, a child must not be held responsible for the parent's mistake. I don't see the dawnguard raiding any village now. They starter from scratch and they should only be judged by their actions, not their ancestors' actions. Comparing the two PRESENT factions, we already know which side is worse (moraly speaking). The quality of the video is great, and your voice and your lines are funny as always. Keep it up.
To be fair not regenerating stamina and all that jazz makes sense since in TES Lore and our real world lore vampires are weakened or die when exposed to sunlight.

Andrei Gabriel Better vampires mod is something like Moonlight Tales for werewolves; you can customise weaknesses, powers, appearance, advance from fledgling to nightlord, toggle hatred and of course, choose how quickly you die exposed to sunlight (and regenerate in shaded areas) It’s pretty cool

Ahem... cant you also become vampire lord by getting a bite from Serana? It's part of the dawnhuard quest when you go to rescue her mother... it's been a long time since I've done the quest but I clearly remember siding with dawn guard but still being a vampire lord.
Another pro for becoming a vampire: the necromage perk in the restoration skill tree gives you a 25% boost to your magical abilities, including enchanting.
Fun fact some of the missions you can do in Harkins Court involves you slaying lesser vampires because they open the eyes to the threat of vampires as well as their competition for feeding
I love playing the vampires, however I feel like the entire dawnguard questline was intended to play as the dawnguard. The vampires didnt feel... finished? You could do some evil stuff, but in the end, even if youre the evil vampire, you need to destroy Harkon to 'stop' him to darken the sun only to do it yourself? The fuck is that? No grab for power, youre purely stopping Harkon because you do good with Serana. And then yano... fuck it? Thats why I almost always go Dawnguard, because if I choose the vampires I wanna be evil. And I cant be fucking evil! Whats the point then?! The vampire side is awesome in almost every way. The asthetics, the npc's, the general vibe of the faction... but then the story. Its made for the dawnguard side. You're not the evil guy with the vampires, in the end, you're the good guy. And then... yeah... storywise you're good, but then you'll fuck up the sun anyway. It feels wrong xd

I can point out so many points of the story where my character makes so many idiotic choices or just straight up does a 180 turn from the previous choice that it became a headache to go through questline. Heck i don't even want to touch the questline on my recent play throughs but i have to , because otherwise i end up with a lot of dead merchants. At least i can ignore the thieves guild or any other stupidic storyline.
I think my plan this time around will be to go through on the Dawnguard side & still have the option to be turned near the end by Serana. If I am able, I will try to keep the hellhounds alive with taming spells, so I can have them after killing the rest of the vamps at the castle. But, I doubt it will work.
In my last playthrough i helped the dawnguard destroy the vampires. In my next playthrough I'm gonna go total beast mode on both. (Good prey for the ultimate predator) Werewolves don't showoff their power we just hunt (Unlike vampires)
I joined Vampires at first because I was too lazy to actually level up and just cheezed my way through Transformation (Werewolf+Ring of Hircine at first, Vampire Lord later). I join Volkihars later because I'm a power freak who likes undead and not-human characters.
I am just gonna destroy the volkahir clan to kill the competition , temporarily cure vampirism , master illusion , and then use it to manipulate dawnguard to my will. What's that? Isran is too strong for calm spells? Too bad , i have bend will. Perfect plan. This way i own castle volkihar without having people constantly annoying me. Having valerica around isn't bad.

@@Fenris2 No, the Volkihar will often hunt feral vampires that feed too boldly and end up killing their prey because it's harder to hide bodies than bite marks.
I like to think of it this way. You kill harkon and then become the leader of the vampires. Then instead of just killing innocents you kill bandits and others like that. You let the vampires do whatever they want to them. Then normal people and jarls and such leave you alone cause your are actually helping them while also getting all the blood you want.
the reason the bow wasnt working was because when you beat the mission to get auriels bow the world scripts that enable you to mess with the sun are activated as well but since you probably spawned it in with console commands for the video those arent active so nothing happens
Ever since I bought Skyrim for my switch earlier this year I have watched ten of these videos. And every video I've seen so far has had a hilarious intro including this one. I'm subscribing
I played as a vampire. It's fun for a while, but I got so sick of having to murder civilians and being perpetually overencumbered by Dawnguard armor. Thankfully, there's a mod that removes that quest, but as it was, it was super annoying. If I ever play it again, I might install the mod. Wish there could have been an option to execute Feran Sadri for constantly making me do that quest over and over again. Bitch, I'm the lord of the castle now! You don't get to order me around. Also, you can become a Vampire Lord even if you side with the Dawnguard from what I hear. When you open the portal to the Soul Cairn, you can either have a piece of your soul removed (which permanently damages your stats), or have Serana turn you. Another criticism I hear is that the vampires' side feels like it was just glued on. I've never sided with the Dawnguard, so I can't say for sure, but from what I remember, there are a lot of parts that feel forced and awkward that would have made more sense if you stood against the vamps. Oh yeah, and Harkon also had his wife and daughter raped by Molag Bal to turn them into vampires, which... is pretty fucked up, even for an Elder Scrolls villain. I've got very few reservations about joining a cult of assassins who worship the Void and kill people regardless of whether they're guilty or innocent, but pimping out your family to a Daedric Prince is somehow even more scummy. At least you get to kill him regardless of who you side with.
Join Volkihars and replace Harkon as Lord of the Court since most of it's members either don't agree with him or wants him dead. After you become a Lord you can impose a rule not to touch human settlements and just work off the radar, they can just wipe bandit camps or thrall them so they can have unlimited food supplies, also it is wise to spare Dawngaurd so you can enthrall their leaders and use them to hunt down vampires or vampire clans that doesnt want to join you.
Harkon's arrogance is enough reason for me to side with the Dawnguard. The sun sucks. You get a huskie, a troll, and cool new spells. Isran is badass and youre still the most powerful entity on Tamriel.

I joined the Dawnguard in my previous character (unfinished bcuz of a corrupted save and all my mods disappearing after an update), but before I really did any significant quests for them, I met Serana & Harkon & let him turn me. Then all the Dawnguard were hostile, on sight. 😢

I always become a vampire, ( especially with Live Another life, i love that mod) and side with Harkon because of a theory I've got. if you go up to Garen when taking Serana back home, he acts like he was expecting you and tells you to present yourself to Lord Harkon at once. I actually feel that Molag Bal and Garen Merethi can sense how strong you are as a mixed blood Vampire and are going out of their way to push you in the direction of replacing Harkon as leader of the Clan. During the house of Horrors quest Bal knows how strong you are when he orders you to crush Vigilant Tyrannus. Lets be real, Harkon is just milling about in his castle obsessing over a vague prophecy while your out there dominating your foes as a Vampire. And later when you find out your Dragonborn, your well on the path to becoming Alduin 2.0.
Honestly the vampire lord tree was about the only up side to the vampires v.s everything in the dawnguard. If they had made the vampire amour unique in effect or added more then just harkens sword, weapon wise. P.s dragon aspect cast before vampire lord and your shiny Love the video 🖒🍻🍀🍁

You can get VLord from Serana while doing the Soul Carne part of the Dawnguard side. So thats not VampExclusive. So do all the Dawngerd side quests to get all their fancy toys before doing the SoulCar thing and bam, you can have your slaves and eat them too. Also... "Idk if Im saying this RIGHT, can someone correct me if I am." Points. All the points.
The bow does work, what you need are either blessed arrows or arrows that Serana bled on - the arrows in question being elven I think. Then you fire at the sun and voila
Great video as always. The Dawnguard DLC is really good but I don’t like the Volkihar Clan neither the Dawnguard. The Volkihar are a group of vampires who follow an elitist, cruel and psychopath leader (this is taken from the wikia) and worship Molag Bal, the most evil Daedric Prince. And for the Dawnguard, they are extremists and headstrong, like most of Nords. I prefer the Order of Auri-El instead and would join them if it was possible - with Serana, of course.
Molag Bal is not evil, Molag Bal is a hero and really wants mortals to thrive The bad things are not his will, he is pretty much obligated to do those things because in this kalpa he is assigned to these things

I completely agree. What I meant is that I would rather fight against the vampires with the help of the Order of Auri-El, the Vigilants of Stendarr or the Companions than the Dawnguard.
And might I add that you can actually do things to counteract the loss of magika, stamina, and health regen. Like, oh I don't know, enchanting armor and weapons. You can even partially get rid of fire weakness that same way.
You know you can join the dawnguard, mused up them vampires, and then get serrana to turn you into a vampire lord... that way you get armoured trolls, crossbows, AND vampire lord power
The entire dawnguard quest could have been better written and better paced I mean I don't like the idea of how you side with the vampires you still kill harken and refuse that tyranny of the sun prophecy so it's like the dawnguard wins either way

I find it interesting how he didn't mention how you can side with the dawnguard, get all the supieror side quest loot and then have serana transform you after and thus get the best of both worlds.
You miss out on the upgraded bloodstone chalice , which , when combine with vampire lord can allow you fight even during daytime. You simply can't run out of magicka , stamina or health in a fight as a vampire lord if you have blood of the ancients and the atronauch stone active.

I choose the Dawnguard almost every time because honestly I lose nothing joining them, while I lose quite a bit joining the vampires. I lose the Huskies and the enhanced Dwarven Crossbow with elemental bolts by joining the vampires. However you can become a vampire after you have done the Dawnguard quests just have to ask Serana to turn you into one. Can even use the bow to black out the sun as well. I like to role play as the Dawnguard version of Alucard from Hellsing. A vampire that hunts other vampires with the human vampire hunters, and looks badass while doing it.
You lose out on four vampire jewelery as well as the blood stone chalice.
The last one isn't that much of a loss though.

He never lived there previously. The people he intends to gather are not the original Dawnguard. They are simply anyone who wishes to join the cause as well as some old associates of his. 5. I have seen testimonials on the Wiki that imply there are those that enjoy the Armored Trolls.
Overall, my main problem is that you're framing this as a well-researched, objective guide for decision-making and titled the video "Elder Scrolls Lore" when, in reality, it's filled with misinformation, completely biased, and should be titled "Why I love siding with the Vampires." However, I'm not that familiar with your content, so for all I know, that could be your schtick. Either way, I do wish you well. I just hope you actually do enough research next time and make it clear whether you intend your statements to be taken as opinions or facts.
Honestly, with my first character, who I played with the express purpose of simply seeing as much content of the game as I could, morals be damned, I sided with the Volkihar, and it is a reasonable decision to do so if it aligns with your character's morality. When playing a morally good character, it's more fitting to side with the Dawnguard. When gaining power, one must consider the kind of power their character should gain.
I'm also aware that this video was uploaded quite a long time ago, but this comment (which took me a few hours), could still be useful for informing someone who comes across this video later, as I recently did.
On a side note, I wasn't aware of the Crossbow enhancements or the elemental bolts until this video and those in the comments mentioned it. So thanks for that! I know what I'm doing soon!

I completely forgot about this. Wow, I was really triggered last year. For good reason, though. I'm not a fan of people supplying others with misinformation, game or not. Especially in a game like Skyrim where there are still fans that (unless they're trolling) think the Stormcloaks are the better side in the Civil War (God, I hope they're trolling).
Also, I had nothing better to do at the time and was recently replaying through Dawnguard, so all of this was fresh in my mind.
I still stand by everything I said. I'm currently on hiatus in Skyrim again, because I have a large backlog of games I should really catch up on. (KH Re:CoM - KH3, AC Brotherhood - AC Odyssey, All the DOOMs, Resident Evils, and now Age of Calamity is at the forefront of all of that.

I'd like to refute what you said in the Dawnguard section of this video, you took rumors about what the Old Dawnguard did 500+ years ago and used that as if it were a valid point. Real life example; What bad things did the Italians do 500+ years ago? Well since they did those bad things centuries ago therefore they are still bad. I call BS.

Wait how does what the original Dawnguard did have any effect on the current day Dawnguard? They hadn't existed for 500 years. This is a completely new Dawnguard, hence why every second guard says "heard they're reforming the dawnguard" It's been reformed, it's not a continuation.
I really want to go against the Dawnguard. But I love my Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow too much, If there was a way of getting it with joining the Vampires I would, but there isn't without mods and I don't want to cheat. As it stands I have never done the Vampire side before and I want to, but I can't because of my need for that damned Crossbow.
Also. You can become a Vampire lord any time with Serana on the Dawnguard side, the quest is the same length as far as I am aware, Serana takes your side no matter what side you are on. You can do whatever you want in both castles once you are done, and you get weapons on the Dawnguards side. If anything the Dawnguard has more content. A major issue with this video is that you don't realise you can become a Vampire Lord on the Dawnguard side. I have a feeling you haven't played the Dawnguard side at all.

Point of order: once you complete the questline and if Serana hasn't cured herself, you can ask her to turn you into a vampire if you sided with the Dawnguard.
Counterpoint, you can become a vampire lord after the questline even when allied with the Dawnguard. More importantly, crossbow. Dwarven crossbow. Exploding bolts.

@@Vaprous You know how Serena offers to make you a Vampire Lord to enter the Soul Cairn instead of soul trapping you if you sided with the Dawnguard? She'll have the offer to make you a Vampire Lord again after completing the quest line, no matter which side you took and not specifically for the Soul Cairn.

@@joaovitor-nv3dq horribly mad. But if you do all the crossbow quests beforehand, there's nothing you'll need from them afterwards. And you can always cure it if there is and get it again.

One thing I want to correct: yes, just like there are patrolling vigilants you can find dawnguard patrols. They do roam skyrim and not "let you do all the dirty work"

First, I hate the constant debuff from the vampire lord. Second, I really like the crossbow with the explosions. Third, you CAN be a vimpire lord from EITHER questline! Just ask Serana! You get to keep her too! I have done the vampires and am in the middle of the Dawnguard. The Dawnguard has been WAY more enjoyable and seems to have more content than the vampires. I'll/give you that lorewise, the vampires stick with their side better, but gameplay-wise, I see no reason to ever join the vampires. And if you really want to join the vampires, but you also want that nice and shiny crossbow, Harkon gives you 2 chances. Say no the first time, finish the side quests for it, then say yes to Harkon the second time.
I joined the Volkihar vampires but not with ill intent. My legitimate playthrough character is a good guy so I don't feed on mortals unless I find it necessary or I just feed on the cattle in the castle instead. What about the bow? I refuse to soak the sunhallowed arrows with blood and just use them to make the sun shoot lasers from the sky. Genius, I know.

playing skyrim as either vampire lord or werewolf at higher levels on legendary is actually impossible because every little sucker onehits you and you deal no damage, both of the transformations are absolute garbage but at least werewolves dont look like someone punched the crap out of them while they *were* infant *wolves*

You should've named the video 'Why I chose to destroy the Dawnguard' because you were very subjective in this video. To me it looked like you were trying to make people chose the vampire side just because you like it more. You left out some good things about the dawnguard, and some bad things about the vampires. For example, ARMORED TROLLS!! Who wouldn't want a pet troll? You can have them if you side with Isran. Other good things you can get by joining the dawnguard are better crossbows and explosive bolts. Don't forget some other cool weapons and armour, and the huskies.
A bad thing about the vampire lord, or just playing a normal vampire is that you don't regenerate stamina in the sun, which is pretty shitty if you play a warrior build. In my opinion, the vampire lord power is good if you play a mage, and bad if you play a warrior, but of course, everyone is free to choose. Most of us watching you already know all about it, but for those who don't, it's important for them to have all the Informations before choosing. It was cool watching the video to find out your opinion about this, but I've already played both sides and I won't be influenced by you.
The argument about the dawnguard's history is pretty bad.
Thier history doesn't matter, a child must not be held responsible for the parent's mistake. I don't see the dawnguard raiding any village now. They starter from scratch and they should only be judged by their actions, not their ancestors' actions.
Comparing the two PRESENT factions, we already know which side is worse (moraly speaking).
The quality of the video is great, and your voice and your lines are funny as always. Keep it up.
To be fair not regenerating stamina and all that jazz makes sense since in TES Lore and our real world lore vampires are weakened or die when exposed to sunlight.

Andrei Gabriel Better vampires mod is something like Moonlight Tales for werewolves; you can customise weaknesses, powers, appearance, advance from fledgling to nightlord, toggle hatred and of course, choose how quickly you die exposed to sunlight (and regenerate in shaded areas)

Another pro for becoming a vampire: the necromage perk in the restoration skill tree gives you a 25% boost to your magical abilities, including enchanting.
Fun fact some of the missions you can do in Harkins Court involves you slaying lesser vampires because they open the eyes to the threat of vampires as well as their competition for feeding
I love playing the vampires, however I feel like the entire dawnguard questline was intended to play as the dawnguard. The vampires didnt feel... finished? You could do some evil stuff, but in the end, even if youre the evil vampire, you need to destroy Harkon to 'stop' him to darken the sun only to do it yourself? The fuck is that? No grab for power, youre purely stopping Harkon because you do good with Serana. And then yano... fuck it?
Thats why I almost always go Dawnguard, because if I choose the vampires I wanna be evil. And I cant be fucking evil! Whats the point then?! The vampire side is awesome in almost every way. The asthetics, the npc's, the general vibe of the faction... but then the story. Its made for the dawnguard side.
You're not the evil guy with the vampires, in the end, you're the good guy. And then... yeah... storywise you're good, but then you'll fuck up the sun anyway. It feels wrong xd
The whole questline is a mess either way whenever serana is involved in a conversation.
Cause Bethesda don't want to explain how the sun being blocked out again, as a lore in the elder scroll 6.

It most certainly is not the case.
I can point out so many points of the story where my character makes so many idiotic choices or just straight up does a 180 turn from the previous choice that it became a headache to go through questline.
Heck i don't even want to touch the questline on my recent play throughs but i have to , because otherwise i end up with a lot of dead merchants.
At least i can ignore the thieves guild or any other stupidic storyline.
I think my plan this time around will be to go through on the Dawnguard side & still have the option to be turned near the end by Serana. If I am able, I will try to keep the hellhounds alive with taming spells, so I can have them after killing the rest of the vamps at the castle. But, I doubt it will work.

I joined Vampires at first because I was too lazy to actually level up and just cheezed my way through Transformation (Werewolf+Ring of Hircine at first, Vampire Lord later).
I join Volkihars later because I'm a power freak who likes undead and not-human characters.
I am just gonna destroy the volkahir clan to kill the competition , temporarily cure vampirism , master illusion , and then use it to manipulate dawnguard to my will.

I like to think of it this way. You kill harkon and then become the leader of the vampires. Then instead of just killing innocents you kill bandits and others like that. You let the vampires do whatever they want to them. Then normal people and jarls and such leave you alone cause your are actually helping them while also getting all the blood you want.

the reason the bow wasnt working was because when you beat the mission to get auriels bow the world scripts that enable you to mess with the sun are activated as well but since you probably spawned it in with console commands for the video those arent active so nothing happens

I joined the vampires because they seemed more interested than the dawnguard and the vampire lord form is extremely powerful and I love it
Ever since I bought Skyrim for my switch earlier this year I have watched ten of these videos. And every video I've seen so far has had a hilarious intro including this one. I'm subscribing
I played as a vampire. It's fun for a while, but I got so sick of having to murder civilians and being perpetually overencumbered by Dawnguard armor. Thankfully, there's a mod that removes that quest, but as it was, it was super annoying. If I ever play it again, I might install the mod. Wish there could have been an option to execute Feran Sadri for constantly making me do that quest over and over again. Bitch, I'm the lord of the castle now! You don't get to order me around.
Also, you can become a Vampire Lord even if you side with the Dawnguard from what I hear. When you open the portal to the Soul Cairn, you can either have a piece of your soul removed (which permanently damages your stats), or have Serana turn you. Another criticism I hear is that the vampires' side feels like it was just glued on. I've never sided with the Dawnguard, so I can't say for sure, but from what I remember, there are a lot of parts that feel forced and awkward that would have made more sense if you stood against the vamps.
Oh yeah, and Harkon also had his wife and daughter raped by Molag Bal to turn them into vampires, which... is pretty fucked up, even for an Elder Scrolls villain. I've got very few reservations about joining a cult of assassins who worship the Void and kill people regardless of whether they're guilty or innocent, but pimping out your family to a Daedric Prince is somehow even more scummy. At least you get to kill him regardless of who you side with.

Join Volkihars and replace Harkon as Lord of the Court since most of it's members either don't agree with him or wants him dead.
After you become a Lord you can impose a rule not to touch human settlements and just work off the radar, they can just wipe bandit camps or thrall them so they can have unlimited food supplies, also it is wise to spare Dawngaurd so you can enthrall their leaders and use them to hunt down vampires or vampire clans that doesnt want to join you.
Lord Volkihar's plan is so ridiculous its on par with old cartoon villains.

I joined the Dawnguard in my previous character (unfinished bcuz of a corrupted save and all my mods disappearing after an update), but before I really did any significant quests for them, I met Serana & Harkon & let him turn me. Then all the Dawnguard were hostile, on sight. 😢

I always become a vampire, ( especially with Live Another life, i love that mod) and side with Harkon because of a theory I've got. if you go up to Garen when taking Serana back home, he acts like he was expecting you and tells you to present yourself to Lord Harkon at once. I actually feel that Molag Bal and Garen Merethi can sense how strong you are as a mixed blood Vampire and are going out of their way to push you in the direction of replacing Harkon as leader of the Clan.
During the house of Horrors quest Bal knows how strong you are when he orders you to crush Vigilant Tyrannus. Lets be real, Harkon is just milling about in his castle obsessing over a vague prophecy while your out there dominating your foes as a Vampire. And later when you find out your Dragonborn, your well on the path to becoming Alduin 2.0.
Honestly the vampire lord tree was about the only up side to the vampires v.s everything in the dawnguard.
If they had made the vampire amour unique in effect or added more then just harkens sword, weapon wise.

The bow does work, what you need are either blessed arrows or arrows that Serana bled on - the arrows in question being elven I think. Then you fire at the sun and voila

Great video as always. The Dawnguard DLC is really good but I don’t like the Volkihar Clan neither the Dawnguard. The Volkihar are a group of vampires who follow an elitist, cruel and psychopath leader (this is taken from the wikia) and worship Molag Bal, the most evil Daedric Prince. And for the Dawnguard, they are extremists and headstrong, like most of Nords. I prefer the Order of Auri-El instead and would join them if it was possible - with Serana, of course.
Molag Bal is not evil, Molag Bal is a hero and really wants mortals to thrive
The bad things are not his will, he is pretty much obligated to do those things because in this kalpa he is assigned to these things

I completely agree. What I meant is that I would rather fight against the vampires with the help of the Order of Auri-El, the Vigilants of Stendarr or the Companions than the Dawnguard.
And might I add that you can actually do things to counteract the loss of magika, stamina, and health regen. Like, oh I don't know, enchanting armor and weapons. You can even partially get rid of fire weakness that same way.
If you are Dark Elf you are 50% immune to fire so it evens out.
