Some additional advice for anyone who wants to do this!!! You can actually get to the bridge from the middle ledge, saving you a single step here. Either hand of malenia or hammer of marika should be able make it, but it might be a little trickier because you have a harder angle to jump from and more distance to jump. Note that Hammer of Marika has a short running start before flight kicks in, so you need to point forwards and angle around the corner, or you'll fall even if you do the glitch correctly. This is obviously much better if you're worried that the host is going to try to shoot you down since most spells won't reach you from the middle ledge, and concealing veil can also kick in from the middle ledge, breaking their lock-on. Additionally, from personal experience, you can tank spells while running with Marika's hammer and make it onto the bridge even while they're beaming you. So basically, you can hyper-armor run to the bridge with physick flask and other buffs to get to the host without being a sitting duck on that ledge. For example, the physick buff that makes non-physical attacks heal you EDIT: One final thing. You can invade from right outside the gate if you invade from Bellum Highway. Saves you a lot of time if you're looking specifically for these guys.
Worst part is, the game does have a mechanic to teleport you back to normal areas when leaving multiplayer areas... but it looks like the devs have to place those triggers manually, and they didn't bother placing them in hard to reach places

He was on the catwalk above the site of grace, and I was chasing him from the window inward. He jumps over the railing and, not thinking, I jumped over too, fade to black for the "You have left the multiplayer area, returning" and by the time it's put me back up there, I'm in the middle of him using Ekzykes's Decay.
They should change that you can activate the taunter tounge (?) Only from the grace spot and it will disable the horse . No horse : no hiding place out of the map easy

For anyone not understanding AFK farming.*** AFK player hides & when someone invades their world & can’t be located. The invader leaves & you get rewards like runes . Tbh its not really a good way to farm cause you can get x4 rewards just playing the game normally
Thank you for the explanation! I know of the game, but I haven't played it, so I didn't know what in the world they could possibly be AFK farming in this game.
The saddest part is the solution is so simple: implement an inactivity timer, and don't have invaders end up in games where the host hasn't had meaningful activity in the past 5 minutes or so (earning souls, slaying enemies, dealing damage, any of those metrics would work)
Or even better solution, dont reward any runes to host if invader leaves if the host hasnt done any damage to them I do not understand why hosts get rewards if invader leaves the world, that just promotes this kind of behavior

Or even a BETTER solution, not allowing any online item to be used on unreachable ground. This way no invasion is wasted, and it doesn't put a weird timer that force combat.

Me and friends have been playing elden ring seamless coop and only leveleing up vigor when needed, its been fun playing the whole idea of one hit outs you at almost dead phase, makes bosses quite interesting to fight

I'm convinced most AFK farmers don't give a shit about the runes. They're just griefing because they're bad at the game and/or were invaded and killed too many times. That's why they're NEVER actually "AFK"

The solution for afk farmers would be so simple... just make it so that Invaders don't drop runes when they leave the world. It would cripple the rune gain from this method and they would move on to something better. Such an easy fix Fromsoft.
It still amazes me that people were willing to scum like this for souls. Not only is it the least efficient method possible, you are actively choosing not to play the game in order to do this. There are a million better uses of your time than this, and people in 2022 actually did this and thought it was a good idea.
Bolt of Gransax has the same range as Frenzied Burst, it's long but not even as long as the maximum range from where you can lock on. Only way to hit a pixel in the distance is with a ballista as far as I know, maybe with a greatbow but I'm not sure.

This was highly educational. Time for all us invaders to get into practicing. I still haven't figured out how to deal with the afk farmers in limgrave though. They afk with the fingerprint shield toggled on so the jar cannon deals only 5 damage :(
To fix it, lets just have the runes go to whoever kills the invader or blue or whatever. That would stop this farming and any new exploits the children will think of in the future.
I bet some of these guys wake up, get their character into the spot and then leave to go to work or something, then they come back with 0 runes lmfao. Even though they can get them back you just end up stopping their farm
And if you're too lazy to do that (even though it takes less effort than this way), just go kill the lightning silver tears on the staircase in the underground, easy 5k for 2 kills (nox priestess and one silver tear)

if you want to keep at level 125 you should stick to duels, but if you're invading, you should go to a higher level, since there's way less players at meta level

I hope that in the future they patch people from getting up there by placing an unkillable boss that one shots *regardless* called "let me solo cheater's" that can't be staggered, status effected and the whole lot and in the future when more afk spots are found the devs can just place another "let me solo cheater's" in that area. Note: Let me solo cheater's will only aggro if you're detected in the afk area's in case you're wondering about accidental triggers and once triggered will not lose aggression until you're killed. After respawning they'll be back within said afk area's.
I got ganked at that exact spot where they hid behind the gate and their buddy came behind me when I found them and spammed rivers. Seeing this makes me glad these losers are getting outsmarted.

It was never fast - what are you talking about? You'd have to _wait_ for an invader, then _wait_ for them to give up and quit/kill themselves. (Yes, I know about Taunter's Tongue - that only _marginally_ improves the wait time overall) Only to get a _fraction_ of the number of souls needed to actually level up.

I am old so my reaction time isn't good enough to bother with PVP, but I still enjoyed watching this. N+1 ways of getting souls and these guys are doing this crap.
I get the sentiment, but as someone who has been in some fighting game scenes, as well as doing a little pvp in soulsborne (and starting to get old myself), in most games experience definitely trumps reaction time. Most games are more about predicting what your opponent is going to do and punishing them before they do it. I've seen fighting games likened to rock paper scissors where the winner has to play a song on the piano. Later Soulsborne games are often about catching people when they try to roll away. Admittedly though, this game is a little more reaction time heavy due to how powerful everything is. But yeah, don't give up just because your reaction time is slow, once you have some experience you shouldn't need it (unless you're fighting moonveil, but even then it isn't too bad unless you don't know they have it)
"IS it just me or these high-level invaders seemed to be not smart?" Well that's because you'll come across more newbie begginners whose first goals is to find the easiest way to get as much runes as possible to hit level 80+ or something just so they don't rage dying at teh first boss 30 times in a row.
Me and a couple of other reds and blues decided to just chill out and sit around, eating crab and prawn together. It was a good time. Ended up dueling. Sadly me and the last guy died at the same time.
I don't know why FromSoft hasn't implemented an inactivity kick. PVP is 100% always a dynamic and action-packed event. If someone is standing around not moving, and/or the invader can't get within 50 meters of the host, then the host is a guaranteed exploiter. There's no other explanation that I can think of. I feel like there's a fix right there. First, detect inactive players and remove them from the PVP rotation, period. Next, there's got to be a way to solve for the rest of the issue, like not providing any runes or anything to a host when the invader quits if the invader can't get within X meters within two minutes, or something like that. (I know the second part isn't perfect, but I'm not a game developer so coming up with things like this isn't a part of my actual job.) I'm certain this AFK farming bullshit can be stopped.
I heard people do this just to "get back at invaders" like it's not a literal implementation of the game by Fromsoft themselves since early DS days. I just can't fathom the thought process of trying to "get back at" someone who doesn't even know you and is just playing the game like everyone else
I discovered that by just bonking the frog boys at the bird farm area i can make more runes that i could ever need, what the fuck is wrong with these afk farmers
When using the telescope and trying to roll out of it, your character will only roll forward no matter what direction you inputted. I learned that the hard way as well and had to test it my self
you can actually get down there from the ledge you were looking at 3:20 there are platforms sticking out of the cliff you can drop down onto the afk area. It the method i'm using to kill afk farmer sometime they'll be sitting on the edge of the bridge so you can shoot them from the lake but very rarely. They will also sometime sit in the corner right behind the door Edit: you can see and snipe 'em afkers from the right and left side of the gate, left side is much better

simply turning off invasion matchmaking if you haven't killed anything for 5 minutes should do

the only afk farmer i’ve been able to kill was so lazy with their spot, they were just hiding as a flag with the mimic veil on side of the starting area building
needless to say, i beat them up without delay
I am old so my reaction time isn't good enough to bother with PVP, but I still enjoyed watching this. N+1 ways of getting souls and these guys are doing this crap.
I get the sentiment, but as someone who has been in some fighting game scenes, as well as doing a little pvp in soulsborne (and starting to get old myself), in most games experience definitely trumps reaction time. Most games are more about predicting what your opponent is going to do and punishing them before they do it. I've seen fighting games likened to rock paper scissors where the winner has to play a song on the piano. Later Soulsborne games are often about catching people when they try to roll away. Admittedly though, this game is a little more reaction time heavy due to how powerful everything is.
But yeah, don't give up just because your reaction time is slow, once you have some experience you shouldn't need it (unless you're fighting moonveil, but even then it isn't too bad unless you don't know they have it)
Just get a colossal sword and high poise and trade people to death.

Well that's because you'll come across more newbie begginners whose first goals is to find the easiest way to get as much runes as possible to hit level 80+ or something just so they don't rage dying at teh first boss 30 times in a row.

Me and a couple of other reds and blues decided to just chill out and sit around, eating crab and prawn together. It was a good time. Ended up dueling. Sadly me and the last guy died at the same time.
Love it. Don’t have the weapons to glitch up there but the jar cannon + arrows reach tailsmen works wonders. Keep up the good work
I don't know why FromSoft hasn't implemented an inactivity kick. PVP is 100% always a dynamic and action-packed event. If someone is standing around not moving, and/or the invader can't get within 50 meters of the host, then the host is a guaranteed exploiter. There's no other explanation that I can think of. I feel like there's a fix right there. First, detect inactive players and remove them from the PVP rotation, period. Next, there's got to be a way to solve for the rest of the issue, like not providing any runes or anything to a host when the invader quits if the invader can't get within X meters within two minutes, or something like that. (I know the second part isn't perfect, but I'm not a game developer so coming up with things like this isn't a part of my actual job.)
I'm certain this AFK farming bullshit can be stopped.
I heard people do this just to "get back at invaders" like it's not a literal implementation of the game by Fromsoft themselves since early DS days. I just can't fathom the thought process of trying to "get back at" someone who doesn't even know you and is just playing the game like everyone else

I discovered that by just bonking the frog boys at the bird farm area i can make more runes that i could ever need, what the fuck is wrong with these afk farmers

you can actually get down there from the ledge you were looking at 3:20 there are platforms sticking out of the cliff you can drop down onto the afk area. It the method i'm using to kill afk farmer sometime they'll be sitting on the edge of the bridge so you can shoot them from the lake but very rarely. They will also sometime sit in the corner right behind the door
Edit: you can see and snipe 'em afkers from the right and left side of the gate, left side is much better
