Seth just won the Pikes Peak Double last weekend, fastest overall in the one-way half marathon up the mountain to the summit (14,115’, 7,815’ vertical ascent) last Saturday and then the full up-and-down marathon the very next day. Seth is a dear friend and an inspiration!! I enjoyed the Ascent only, my Naked T/r working superbly on dry rocky terrain and in the snow at the top.
I wasn't super impressed by the On. It felt fine, but it kinda just felt like a much worse version of the Takumi Sen 9. It's an ounce heavier, over $100 more expensive MSRP (and way more considering TS9 discounts), much less durable (based on their numbers on the box and my experience with how durable LS Pro is), and a little firmer and less bouncy/energetic. I tried them a bit and returned them. They weren't terrible, but it would be hard to recommend them over the competition. Vaporfly/Endorphin Pro 3/Endorphin Elite are all lighter, cheaper, and just much better and more versatile in my opinion. And then the Takumi Sen 9 is just way lighter and cheaper for the 5k/10k space. Considering discounts, you could get TS9 and Adios Pro 3 with discounts for less than the price of the On. The Adios Pro 3 is like the same weight and much more comfortable for longer races (midsole at least but the upper is horrible IMO) and the Takumi is much lighter for the shorter stuff.
I saw a lot of criticism of the adidas pro 3 upper but it’s a part of the shoe that works really well for me. I don’t have to think or worry about footstrike in this shoe and locks into whatever pace I go to. Love it.
Definitely agree with what you said about the VF. I had a pair of the 2’s at it just felt like my foot was falling off of the midsole. Sold them in the end.
I haven’t tried the On CE3, but I do have all the others and I think your comparisons are spot on. I’m surprised you did not include the Hoka Rocket X 2 and ASICS Metaspeed Sky+ on your comparison. All that said, when you try the Endorphin Elite, I think you’re going to be impressed on another level.
Be nice to see how the following compare with the Solomon Phantasm 2. Really like the colourway and has all the attributes required for half and full marathons
Interesting what you said about the mid foot on the Vaporfly. For me it was so narrow and digging into my arches causing a lot of pain. Had to use insoles from another shoe which sorted it.
Got a pair of Endorphin Pro 3s on the way. VF3s fell apart before 100k during my first marathon… outsole on the heel just came off! Heard such good things about the Pro 3 so I’m hoping it cures my Nike addiction.
Seems more people are reporting the same issue with the Vaporflys. I had the Vaporfly 2, they didn't have that issue for me. Also have the Endorphin Pro 3, 120km so far and no issues with the outside of any kind so far
@@DuncanEpping yeah I saw the same thing happened to one of the run testers. Luckily I knew what was happening mid-marathon because of that video actually! Felt very strange just flapping about for a few k 😂
I've got some VF2s and some AP3s. I keep going back and forth on which I like better. I've not tried an On shoe yet, but I'm glad to see they're starting to get more competitive.
I have both but after 100 miles the Vaporfly V2 is still amazing but lost some of the pop.. The Adidas Pro 3 just gets better and better. I do prefer the fit of the Vaporfly V2..
Big fan of the Adios Pro 3. I think that's about perfect for me. More stable side of neutral and will serve me well even through shite weather in the Pacific Northwest. I really like the Endorphin Pro 3 as well, but I actually feel faster in that shoe. I'm a heavy guy, so that could play a role. I LOVE it for hard tempo and would probably wear it for a 10k.
The best of the 3rd series? Nothing wrong with a bit of Healthy Competition! To my surprise there was a Only Fools US adaptation pilot filmed which is doing the rounds on YT. Very odd and doesn't really work for a number of reasons. A bit like buying a pair of Vaporfly from a bloke with a suitcase in the market.
@@EDDBUD By gimmic, I was referring to the holes through the midsole. I can't see how much energy return, if any, the user would experience. The old Nike Shox comes to mind. Personally, I wish people would do their homework first before they buy a pair of running shoes (like watch your show, for example). I groan everytime I walk into a running shoe store and see half the people trying on Hoka, and the other half trying ON. I think shoe stores makes the most margins from these two running shoe brands. More people should watch your channel and actually learn something.
When companies chuck out buzz words like sustainability to sell shoes but then also make ones that only last 2 minutes it's time to call them out on their BS. Let's be honest the super shoes do feel great but how much performance do they actually have over lesser shoes. Not worth buying a shoe with such a low lifespan imo.

I do like it. Just not quite the consistent lockdown of other shoes.
Seth is certainly running well, 4th at Pikes Peak in the Last week. Hopefully he might return to the VLOG world at some point 👍
4th in the Ascent and 2nd in the full marathon. I thought Seth ran all of the
Pikes Peaks races. ❤

Can’t wait for endorphin elite review 🔥
Need another run, will get up early tomorrow then finalise my review. 👍🏼👊

The alphafly was even worse. The v1 was ok through.

I reckon they will tame the upper a little on the 4. Super traction on the adidas. Hard to beat
awsome video, but the lidl shoes cannot wait, prepare thy legs for they approch!
Le Del.
Still waiting for the other ON prototype 😅
For the win
🥇
Miss the interlude! 😁
Back in todays video.
Thanks Edd.
No worries!
Endorphin Elite in the TMNT colour 🎉
🤣
Totally unrelated...but...I feel like the Y-3 Sen 9's are calling out to you Ed! They answered your call that race shoes don't need to be bright.
No chance. Not for that money!
Surely they would send you a pair for the purpose of review😄

Will have to check that out. Sad that rock and chips never got finished.
@@EDDBUD Very sad indeed, it was a series for the genuine enthusiast.
@@Stevenc1984 and I can see your a genuine enthusiast. 🤣👍🏼

How does the rocket x2 compare? Kind of in-between the rocket and the endorphin pro 3 for marathon
Bit more like the endorphin elite to be honest!
First 🤦♂️🤪 here for the De La Soul ref. 😎
No musical interlude in this one. 🤣👍🏼🥉
You got bronze though which is 3rd place.
Damn it!!! 😂
Does 4th count?
Always 👍🏼👊
My shoes look like that when I run in goose poo. Great content too.
Eh?!
Lol. Canada goose problem on the trails here, stains the foam green. First world problem.
@@MrBradogg we get some herons nearby but the main danger is dogs. 👍🏼
Not exactly into the gimmicky ON brand. I'm holding out for the Pro 4 and Speed 4.
Not sure this one is much of a gimmick. It’s a nice smooth operator.

It’s an acquired taste
honestly I really hate to say that I hate zoom-x foam from nike. Its "OK" but there is so much better options with a better price.
It’s different to what it was on originals.
