Yea or Nay is back once again!
In this series i examine new or future running shoe releases and explain as to why i might be testing them out when available.
4 new, current or forthcoming releases, will i be picking them up for review on the channel? Tune in to find out!
Today i have a bunch of new and odd releases as there are tons of new models out right now.

I definitely dont need any more shoes any time soon. But the two id be tossing up would be the adios 9 vs the evo sl. I've got plenty more miles left in both my adios 8 and takumi sen 10. Ill be interested to see what runners make of both shoes.

Always will be a Nimbus fan. Doesn’t need the pizazz to make it a great shoe, the comfort, durability, and onboard feel makes it so great.
I’m not a Nimbus user but I will always appreciate the way Asics tends to keep their iterations evolutionary rather than revolutionary.
As a frequent Nike runner, I’ve been burned so many times by their strategy of fine tuning a shoe for one generation, then binning the whole thing for the next.

You're right about the Mizuno, it's supposedly like a plateless Neo Vista.
Had the opportunity to buy the Adios Pro in that grey color here in the States but just couldn't pull the trigger on that grey/silver color. Also spot on take about the pre-release hype dying. I'm more hype for the Novablast than I am the EVO SL, influencer hype aside, because you can actually buy it

The Mizuno mystery shoe is marketed in Australia as the Neo Zen. A lightweight nitrogen infused enerzy mid sole for long runs and tempo. Not yet released though here

I've heard from someone who has both the EVO SL and the Mizuno Neo Zen (Mystery Shoe 1) and they are saying the Mizuno is marginally better than the EVO. Same stack and weight, but with a bouncier, more propulsive ride!

@@paulmulks it's a light, up tempo daily trainer. Their new line-up has
Neo Zen - non-plated, light up tempo daily
Neo Vista 2 - max cushion daily with a plastic plate
Mystery shoe 3 - the latest Wave Rider, a traditional daily
Mystery Shoe 4 - the latest Mizuno Sky, their max stack non plated stability shoe
@OlieSimpson Oh that's interesting then 🤔 I had the Vista but sold them on, too soft for my liking. I had the wave rebellion pro 2 but again sold them on as I just didn't do them justice at the time 😂 So had a bit of a underwhelming experience with Mizuno I'd say 😫 Gonna have a look at some reviews as and when they release, cheers for the info 👍🏻
Thanks to the great detective work done by JS-Treadmill- Running, the mystery Mizuno shoe has a name. Mizuno is naming it the Neo Zen. Which is a bit odd since they use that same name on their football and rugby boots, too. 21 Run had all the info on it but has since taken it down. They said it has Mizuno's wave technology, which means it has a wave shaped plate, and the midsole is nitro infused. They also say its comparable to the Asics Novablast as in its versatility. Good for any type of run. 21 Run had it listed at 235 grams or 8.2oz. Running Warehouse has it shipping in early January 2025.
No plate in the Mizuno Neo Zen, was confirmed by Mizuno themselves on one of their PR videos from TRE a few days ago.

Sorry, I misspoke. 21 Run said the shoe uses wave technology. Mizuno, in the past, used that term to describe a wave plate inserted in the midsole for stability and cushion even though their shoes used to be quite firm. On Mizuno's current lineup their still using that term for their running shoes regardless of whether they have a plate or not. Quite confusing!

Re music taste - just by chance listened last night to Nic Cave and the Bad Seeds - specifically Into my Arms. Never listened to anything of theirs before. Very moody track - but beautiful - I think anyways. Thanks for the heads up on Kendrik Lamar! Have been listening to your music interludes since you started - always appreciate them.

I found my old Nimbus 21 in the cupboard. Tried it on, wow, its like a brick! How things have changed in 5/6 years.

One dedicated daily trainer SL
One traditional racer Adios
One non-elite racer Boston
One elite 5k-half racer Takumi
One elite half-full racer AdiosPro
The Adios cab double as a trainer for the Takumi. The Boston can double as a trainer for the AdiosPro. There is indirect mixing and matching throughout the range with less confusion. They took the less is more approach at every angle.
I can look at the options at a glance and know what I need.

@@EDDBUD I realize sorting out a minimalist to maximalist range is trickier than it may seem, but I kept feeling a bit lost. It’s a good thing the SL, Adios, and Takumi options have clearer focus now. I think the EVO SL will prove to be the first dedicated adizero trainer in the range to actually behave as a trainer despite it looking like a racer. It seems the SL2 still feels like a racer. I still want that one too.

Just got a pair of pro 4's the fit is beautiful. Ive got a 1/2 size up to my normal half size up running shoes so they come up small as if I'd of gone for my normal Adidas size they would be very snug on the toes. They feel very stable and looking forward to getting some miles in them (when it drys up)
The Mizuno's Enerzy NXT is awesome ! I have not try this in the Neo Vista, but I got the Wave Sky 8 that is also pure Enerzy NXT foam and it rocks ! Almost as comfortable as a Gel-Nimbus 26, but softer and with a bounce and energy return that matches the Invincible Run 3.
Anyways I'm getting the Gel-Nimbus 27 at launch as I always did with Gel-Nimbus since the 22nd version. I will keep an eye on those NXT shoes from Mizuno instead going for a Nova Blast 5 first .
Great to hear this, I'm becoming a Mizuno fan based on their recent innovative Wave Rebellion Pro series as well. Would you say their NXT foam is made of the durable TPEE (vs shorter life PEBA)?
Defo pro 4. See the Ride 18 has appeared on Start Fitness, slightly cheaper than the 17. Just looks like an upper tweak as far as I can tell.
Evo SL is a weird launch but will see how it really reviews by you. No rush to get it since I got in on the ASOS £55(!) SL2 bonanza last week. Couple of pairs of those and another Superblast 2 to see me through the next six months marathon prep. Why do we wait forever then get bombarded with deals and releases at once? Earth credits flying out the door 💰 💰

Agree with your thoughts about Mizuno. I feel they need to appeal to the mainstream market more and compete better on price. Mind you, I'm surprised the Neo Vista has sold as well as it has in Australia given the so so reviews out there and the very high price tag, $320!
Mizuno seems like one of the rare brands with reasonably priced supershoes in Europe, looking at their recent Wave Rebellion Pro and related (Flash etc) lines.
The super premium and super high stack WRP 2 is available starting 120 or 130 quid, and it's less than a year old. Other manufacturers price their top-end supershoes at about double that.
@@aliasgharkhoyee9501 Is the WRP 3 the same price in Europe? We have the WRP 2 very cheap in Australia now because it didn't sell at all and not many runners can get the most out of it and you rarely see anyone running a marathon in them (which was its intended use case). I fear the WRP 3 and WRP Low will go the same next year though the Low version might make more in roads as its geometry is more agreeable to the average runner.
@@teamdreamcatcher4877 WRP3 retail price is about 220 to 230 euro, which is in line with or less than similar high stack race day supershoes from other manufacturers.

Yep. Here in NZ the 4 has been onsale for two weeks. Got my silver/red/grey ones on the way right now. Bet they get here before my second pair of 3s... 😂
Evo SL - yay closer to warmer time (April) also because I just picked up a pair of SL2 for 78 quid 😊. I also picked up a pair of Pro 3 for 128 quid, so will give a miss to Pro 4. Nay to the other 2.
Hi Edd. I've just checked the Adidas site, and Evo SL in the black colourway says it'll be released on the 12th December. Looks better than the white for me :)
Was out on the Sportsshoes website earlier in the white version. Gone now!

ADIDAS ADIZERO EVO SL dropped on Running Warehouse in the US today... Skipped it. Just looked and the silver/red AAP4 is on the adidas site for sale right now. Not my colorway but I'll probably try that one out later in another color.
Will get the pro4 but no rush for me, might wait for like the 15th or 16th colour way, certainly not interested in a silver shoe.
They might go for a record on these and get into the 20’s

Ed-was just in Vienna last week and was in some running shoe stores - they actually have the AP4 in stock but they can't sell them until Adidas tells them they can. Strange that they got distributed to the store and are just on "standby". I asked just to see them and they couldn't even bring them out to show me. I guess I'll just need to wait til 1/25....

Buy a half size larger. That's not the fault of the shoe, that's the idiocy of the "influencer". It pays to go a half size up in Adidas shoes with energy rods. Always has. They're clearly not "shoe experts" if they don't know something as well known as that.
