Shadow Of Sundered Star I don’t know about that... Star Wars is famous for expanding on everything that can possibly be expanded on. There are frequently entire stories crafted around a single ship that appeared for seconds in the movies or another source. The universe is almost as fleshed out as our own. The Legends storyline goes before 25,000 BBY to after 150 ABY. The Canon is a lot less expansive, as it has only had 4 years to expand, but it is still incredibly well fleshed out.
The auto-generated Closed Captioning is actually really good on this video (and your others) for some reason; I suspect it's because you speak so clearly and understandably!
Commander Lakar I think that the replicators would lose because the Empire had a much larger fleet. But the Replicators could win if they could board as much Star Destroyers as possible
keep in mind the replicators borg like ability to adapt to powerful weapons like the plasma beams of the Asgard. I imagine replicator ships would adapt to turbo lasers and laser cannons within the first dozen battles and then the starwars universe would get totally owned.

I had a cool idea for a ship: the Overlord-Class Battlecruiser (ship) These have turrets that slide along rails that run through the middle of the ship, and thus, the firepower can be spread in such a way that you can easily broadside someone, no questions asked. The ship is an irregular pentagon, with two massive turbolaser batteries near its engine bays. Only a few turrets actually slide, and these are medium-sized batteries. The super batteries on the sides can turn a little, but only up and down. It handles any assault pretty well, except for along the back, however, its sister ship class, the Overseer-class Heavy Cruiser, is a supercarrier which can provide massive fighter screens if need be.
Do a space battle between a UNSC battlegroup composed of 1 Punic-class supercarrier, 1 Marathon-class heavy cruiser, 6 UNSC destroyers, and 12 Paris-class heavy frigates and an Imperial squadron composed of 3 Vindicator-class heavy cruisers, 1 Acclamator-class assault ship, 4 Carrack-class light cruisers, 4 Lancer-class frigates, and 2 Vigil-class corvettes. It's moronic when space travellers make ships that are less durable than modern tanks and have primary anti-capital-ship weapons that are weaker than 1980s hand-held rocket launchers. The pathetic "orbital bombardment" of the rebel base in Rebels made me want to choke everyone involved with the project. At least the later Legends stuff fairly consistently portrayed relatively realistically-powerful warships. Until that damn Clone Wars show (the new one, obviously).
Daleks would crush the Borg. They can adapt like the Borg can, but faster and better. They have time travel, and weapons that are too powerful to adapt to. One Dalek ship can destroy an entire PLANET by itself. Not even the Time Lords stood a chance.
Question, I remember during an episode of star wars the clone wars, droids were loading canisters into cannons situated on the side of a providence class ship. Was curious if those acted in a similar fashion to how our brass casings work in our bullets or if they were fired and destroyed in the process.

The best comparison I can think of for turbolasers vs laser cannons (and this is mainly because I've been playing craploads of World of Warships lately) is naval artillery vs anti-air emplacements on WWI/WWII-era ships. Naval artillery is used for ship-to-ship combat, just like turbolasers are. Artillery is slow and heavy, limiting its usefulness against aerial craft (starfighters and bombers, in Star Wars). Like turbolasers, it comes in different calibres relative to the size of the vessel: destroyers and light cruisers will carry smaller guns, generally in single or double gun arrangements, while heavy cruisers, battlecruisers and battleships will have much heavier ordinance which tend to be mounted in triple or even quadruple gun turrets. While smaller artillery calibres will rotate and reload faster than their heavier counterparts, they're all too slow and cumbersome to hit aerial craft. Anti-air guns, however, are the opposite. Fast-firing and moving, they're much more suitable for hitting smaller, nimbler targets like aircraft. While you *could* turn them on other sea-faring ships, their shorter range and much smaller calibre will ensure they have limited to no effect on the larger, more heavily-armoured vessels. As such, anti-air guns are reserved solely for that purpose: fending off aircraft.
Mega Star Destroyer (The Supremacy), with all the ships it can carry, Resurgent, Mandator 4 etc. Vs the US entire Military (Preferably to be done after the release of The Last Jedi.)
This video impressed me quite a bit! Very accurate and detailed. You should have remembered this video when it came to the Independence day video you made lol. Still well done.
A good way of explaining turbolasers vs. lasers would be to compare them to real-world naval weapons. A battleship for example would have its primary guns for engaging other capital ships, secondary guns to defend agianst smaller ships like corvettes or torpedo boats, anti-aircraft cannons and auto-cannons, which might also serve dual-purpose for defense against small ships.
Space is Naval? Me: Jar Jar, where are your battleships? Jar Jar Binks: Mesa use submarines wiz za ports open! Me: No! I mean your capital ships that destroy other ships in space! Jar Jar Binks: Well, me anty aircraft is throwing speers in se air! Me: So that's how battleships die so easily...
Many sci-fi stories refer to a space force as a navy because they operate in similar manners. A navy consists of fleets of capital ships with smaller support ships and/or fighters, and so does a space force, so that's why the Imperial Navy refers to the star destroyers etc and not to water-based vessels.
@@dilon6168 And that's all that matters really. I've been kind of sort of light spoiled, (Saw a couple of non spoiler reviews and a few thumbnails on some youtubers) but I'm going to try to go in and just have a good time.
The terminators are far more superior than most of the battle droids so it's highly unlikely but the T-800 didn't fair well at all against direct energy weapons so Skynet would have to start mass producing T-850s if it didn't already.
Insert name here Plasma Rifles were far more destructive than Star Wars blasters despite being more primitive. A single Plasma Bolt from an HK Tank is Able to Obliterate a human being in a steam explosion whereas the similar scale AT-ST Blaster Cannon rounds just leave a small size hole in a person's body and flinging him back a few feet. A T-800 can tank a few Plasma Rounds before going down. A B2 Super Battle Droid can't take more than 2 hits from a Blaster.
+Richard Ched If that's the case then Skynet wouldn't even need the T-850s because the units it already has could survive dozens of shots which is and even easier win.
One of my favorite sci-fi novels of all time is called A Choice of Treasons by JL Doty. One of the reasons it's my favorite is because even though Doty is actually a laser physicist he refuses to use them in his story. Instead capital ship weapons are cannons that actually launch nuclear warheads into hyperspace, so the shells can cross hundreds of millions of kilometers in the blink of an eye.
Capital ship nukes act more like a EMP weapon in space unless they impact the hull of a vessel directly. In the latter case the explosion is sort of weaker than it should be in the atmosphere and the resulting decompression is likely to kill more.
+dariomasi9 Actually it's been mentioned that while they can teleport to other universes they can't teleport to a SPECIFIC point within the same universe which is why they wanted to get the teleportation technology from Black Mesa so that means they'd still need to travel in space. And of course they'd immediately reverse engineer the firsthyper drive they got ahold of to improve upon it then add it to their arsenal and make their job easier (That is if they didn't have something like it already.)
I think the Conqueror Star Destroyer is an underrated Battleship. It's possesses the power to destroy most single targets, and is excellent in a ground support role. I'd love to make a Lego version.
They are essentially naval cannons, but instead of big hunks of steel its heated plasma. Laser cannons are more like a Bofors or an Orelikon anti aircraft weapons, and blasters are pretty much plasma slinging... well... guns
Yup! A lot of the stuff in SW is based off WWII tech, that's the reason it's red lasers for Rebels, and green for the Empire instead of the other way around. German tracers during WWII were green, and American were orange-y-red.
@@5peciesunkn0wn Kinda ironic associating America with a small rebellion, given that in WW2 (and today) it's probably the single most powerful country on the planet. To make matters worse, the allies included the UK, which at the time very much still was a literal empire that spanned half the planet. (even if that empire wasn't so cohesive perhaps) Although you can't claim them to be the good guys in any way, the Germans and especially the Japanese were very much the underdogs of that war. (as in they were relatively small countries that somehow got it into their head they could take on much bigger rivals.)
No challenge. Delta has Katarn MK 2 armor which, if you look at triple zero, was rated to stop a verpine shatter round at point blank range. Combine that with the DC 17 and Noble team doesn't stand a chance.
To expand upon what chrysller ryu said: Turbo lasers are the anti-ship (other naval vessels), bombardment (siege/anti-structure operations) 16in guns of WWII battleships. Laser cannons are the Bofors 40mm flak cannon and the .50 cal machine guns. Bombardment: such as the naval bombardment of Iwo Jima prior to invasion by US troops. Anti-ship: such as the Battle of Surigao Straight during the Battle of Leyte Gulf (the final ship-to-ship engagement involving crossing-the-T, or full broadside by an entire fleet against an opposing force, in history) Anti-aircraft: th-cam.com/video/jAxdgeHqpJA/w-d-xo.html many countries, including the US, still use the Bofors to this day. That is how versatile and powerful this weapon is.
The thing is both can be used for both. We've seen an ISD's octuple heavy turbolasers used to smack fighters, and we've also seen the quad lasers on say an Arquiten used against capital ships. They are specialized, yes, but not completely
No members of the Rebel Alliance is a hero. They are terrorists fighting against the legitimate, stable government. They may have individual good people, but they are not heroes.
Honorable mention goes to the Mass Driver cannons commonly used by the Mandalorian ships and machines commandeered by the Zann Consortium. For unexplained reasons they could penetrate ray shields and do significant kinetic damage to a target.
CrossedSpace The Galactic republic wouldn't win the only way they could win would be if the Jedis somehow can board the ships or learn Clone Troopers to fight with melee weapons cause Borg Drones can adapt long range weapons and also turbolasers
CrossedSpace the republuc could win with star fighter numbers and stretegy, but the borg would have numbers in capital ships. The republic also has less territory than the empire.
Shadow Of Sundered Star The First battle would be won by the Covenant but the Borg had technology that made them discover what sort of weapons ships used and then made their shields so the weapons couldn't do any damage to them so I think the Borg would win and they had a fleet of atleast 7000 borg cubes
How about a video on all the more exotic or unconventional weapons used by the Empire, Rebellion, Repbublic, CIS and maybe the Sequel factions, once all the background information for Ep. 9 (yes, nine) comes out? I'm especially interested in the pulse cannons you mentioned at 8:04 and the imperial railgun at 8:22 , since I'm not aware of any of those and all Wookiepedia tells me about railguns, is that one was sold by the "Most honorable Guild of Armourers" from the EU/Legends at some point in during imperial time, but without mentioning any specific ship types.
+Ethan Rodriguez That's not even a warm up for space marines. Not to be a fanboy, but you're talking about a bunch of baseline human conscripts with basic projectile weaponry versus genetically modified supersoldier veterans of hundreds of wars wearing powerarmor capable of surviving nukes and wielding guns that are essentially machinegun missile launchers.
A good overview, especially of energy weapons in the Star Wars universe. The Empire never seemed to adapt to the Starfighter threat by the Rebels. They kept their focus on capital ships, though coordinated fighter attacks consistently were the bigger threat to the Star Destroyers. The Empire never demonstrated serious point defense, instead relying on disposable TIE fighters. I guess, if you think you have a infinate supply...

See, The Thing is OP af. The ONLY reason it didn't destroy all of humanity is because it hit the most secluded place on Earth. It'll take over Coruscant rather quickly thanks to the massive amount of beings.

2:02 I like how they made that blue laser from like 3 seconds of revenge of the Sith a whole objective for battlefront 2 2017. You gotta admit, EA sees a lot of missed details from movies that they can incorporate into their game
What was the objective?
DICE, not EA.
@Eye Above All I doubt that. What people think determines how much they make.
That was a pretty cool way to explain things. If i had a science teacher like you when i was in school i would not have fallen asleep in class all the time. Keep up the good work. Your video's are always a blast to watch.

Broadside does have combat merit though. You can more easily make straifing runs and take on multiple targets at once.
It also tends to minimize your target profile.

How about a Lore video on the Halo story so far. I get so confused about when things happened and with who?
Shadow Of Sundered Star I don’t know about that... Star Wars is famous for expanding on everything that can possibly be expanded on. There are frequently entire stories crafted around a single ship that appeared for seconds in the movies or another source. The universe is almost as fleshed out as our own. The Legends storyline goes before 25,000 BBY to after 150 ABY. The Canon is a lot less expansive, as it has only had 4 years to expand, but it is still incredibly well fleshed out.
The auto-generated Closed Captioning is actually really good on this video (and your others) for some reason; I suspect it's because you speak so clearly and understandably!
stargate Milkyway Replicators Vs the Star Wars Galaxy Please!

The Imperial II-class Star Destroyer [...] did not have a dedicated point-defense system.
Its *screen* of upwards to 20 lesser *Destroyers* : "Are we a joke to you?"
3:07
Mon mothma: admiral Akbar what's their power level?

I'd like to see your source for durasteel being weaker than titanium.
Good lord. Disney''s new canon is fucking moronic. Still, I'm using Legends ships in this matchup, so that wouldn't apply here.
Subscribed because of Star Wars: TIE Fighter in the beginning. Also great videos.
Daleks vs Borg
MashGillyGigs Potato Daleks vs Empire would be a more fun video
Daleks
Daleks for the win.
Would be basically the same as when the Daleks took on the Cybermen
Daleks would crush the Borg. They can adapt like the Borg can, but faster and better. They have time travel, and weapons that are too powerful to adapt to. One Dalek ship can destroy an entire PLANET by itself. Not even the Time Lords stood a chance.
Question, I remember during an episode of star wars the clone wars, droids were loading canisters into cannons situated on the side of a providence class ship. Artofwar 10 In a comic Vader easily defeated a Anakin Clone cause he already knew the fighting style of Anakin

All Vader has to do is say "Sand" and Anakin will be disarmed

AffluentDishSoap that's not even a challenge. Just a mandator could demolish earth

The Milano(Guardians of the Galaxy)VS The Millennium Falcon (Star Wars)
I've been wanting to know this stuff forever! Finally

Can the separatists invade earth during terminator rule? (Have to stay in atmosphere)
The terminators are far more superior than most of the battle droids so it's highly unlikely but the T-800 didn't fair well at all against direct energy weapons so Skynet would have to start mass producing T-850s if it didn't already.
Yes quite easily
Spartan Abrams---I think the Terminators would win that fight. Just saying.
Combine vs the empire
Mic Clank yes
From half life?
They probably dont even have capital ships tho since they probably dont care about space beacose they use portals to move around :^V
Normie reeee
I'd love to make a Lego version.
huh. turbo lasers look surprisingly like the big guns of battle ships in wwII.
Wonder why??.....(wink)
The Barrels are too short
(even if that empire wasn't so cohesive perhaps)
Although you can't claim them to be the good guys in any way, the Germans and especially the Japanese were very much the underdogs of that war. (as in they were relatively small countries that somehow got it into their head they could take on much bigger rivals.)
Love the TIE Fighter Animation you used!

Robert Hesser It would pretty much leave holes, as necron tech is described as using teleportation weaponry, cutting big holes into anything
very well done, your videos are unique and i really enjoy them.
So in essence a “turbo laser” would be like a tank cannon and a “laser cannon” would be like an AA gun
Marc Antonio Perez in a naval weaponry more like turbo laser is the ships secondary gun and the laser canons are its AA guns like 50 cal.
Anti-ship: such as the Battle of Surigao Straight during the Battle of Leyte Gulf (the final ship-to-ship engagement involving crossing-the-T, or full broadside by an entire fleet against an opposing force, in history)
Anti-aircraft: th-cam.com/video/jAxdgeHqpJA/w-d-xo.html many countries, including the US, still use the Bofors to this day. That is how versatile and powerful this weapon is.
yes exactly
The thing is both can be used for both. We've seen an ISD's octuple heavy turbolasers used to smack fighters, and we've also seen the quad lasers on say an Arquiten used against capital ships. They are specialized, yes, but not completely
Can you do a review of Halo: Warfleet?

Swords of Sanghelios [halo] vs rebel alliance [Star Wars]
Honorable mention goes to the Mass Driver cannons commonly used by the Mandalorian ships and machines commandeered by the Zann Consortium. For unexplained reasons they could penetrate ray shields and do significant kinetic damage to a target.
Galactic Republic vs The Borg
or
Covenant vs The Borg
CrossedSpace The Galactic republic wouldn't win the only way they could win would be if the Jedis somehow can board the ships or learn Clone Troopers to fight with melee weapons cause Borg Drones can adapt long range weapons and also turbolasers
CrossedSpace the republuc could win with star fighter numbers and stretegy, but the borg would have numbers in capital ships. The republic also has less territory than the empire.
CrossedSpace the covenant would also lose not having efficient numbers but capital ships like carriers, and weaponry could carry them to victory.
Shadow Of Sundered Star The First battle would be won by the Covenant but the Borg had technology that made them discover what sort of weapons ships used and then made their shields so the weapons couldn't do any damage to them so I think the Borg would win and they had a fleet of atleast 7000 borg cubes
Clash Gamer and 100,000
How about a video on all the more exotic or unconventional weapons used by the Empire, Rebellion, Repbublic, CIS and maybe the Sequel factions, once all the background information for Ep.
Dalek Empire (post time war) vs Galactic Empire

The Daleks are too overpowered. Sorry.

I would love to see either a star wars series, or a full length movie based on the visual style of this star wars short seen in the background.
Starship trooper vs space marines
Ethan Rodriguez I love Star Wars but space marines would dominate
+Ethan Rodriguez That's not even a warm up for space marines. Not to be a fanboy, but you're talking about a bunch of baseline human conscripts with basic projectile weaponry versus genetically modified supersoldier veterans of hundreds of wars wearing powerarmor capable of surviving nukes and wielding guns that are essentially machinegun missile launchers.
Shrike that's is sooo overpowered
+Simon Rozze Kinda, but not compared to the stuff they fight. The 40k Universe is a *very* unpleasant place.
You do the best clips , rite on 👍
Warhammer 40k Vs. Pokemon
