I’m so glad you made this -I’ve made several iterations with Henzie trying to figure out how to make the most of his abilities and this video cleared a few things up nicely!
This deck is definitely not a 7. While it might be true that cutting back on higher mv creatures lowers the curve, you can reliably cheat those into play in a number of ways by employing an efficient reanimate package. Cards that ramp and mill, like tortoise, and cavalier of thorns, as well as cards that reanimate and fill the graveyard, like incarnation technique and Breach the multiverse make for a stacked graveyard. I've reliably got either Etali primal conqueror, Ancient brass dragon or Chimaera on the battlefield by turn 4/5. Each of those grants tremendous value. Late game you can loop Gary, or cast Living Death for the win
I love Henzie. The only time I've sacrificed him specifically is when I've got more ramp than cards - this happened one time. I just got to recast him immediately, get a bigger discount next go-around, and it went well. It's kinda hard to build a bad Henzie deck, but I agree, I've been paring back on the top end a bit and cutting back on anything non-creature I can spare.
Often people compare Henzie with Slimefoot and Squee because they're both jund and play with big creatures, and while they both play with graveyards and big creatures I think they are fundamentally different. I'm looking forward to see your take on S&S.
Why Caravan Vigil? It seems counterintuitive at first glance because our creatures dies on end step so we are not able to cast it for its morbid effect. I'm considering to support you on patreon but since two months there was no videos uploaded. I hope you are planning to add more soon :)
@vrobz9784 You're not wrong, and if you're that skeptical of it I would probably agree it can be argued as a weaker slot. But Blitz isn't the only way things die, and given that our opponents know they'll die anyway leads them to make more interesting blocks, I'm still satisfied with it. Yeah, it's been a little bit since my last upload. I've been working on a new format of video, and that's been repeatedly delayed due to adjusting to a new job and work schedule as well as personal developments. Though most of that is fixed now, so stay tuned!
I have a doubt, is not related with this video. But I dont in what video of your to ask, how many of each card did I need for a deck to work, for example in a token deck like Neyali how many token makers I need, how to calculate the math?.
I know this isn't helpful, but the only answer I can give is that it depends greatly on which deck you're building. There really isn't any formula for deciding how much of a kind of card you should run, despite what some content creators might advocate for. That said... Some commanders ask you to *maximize* numbers, while others just ask for a *presence* of that number. For example, The Ur-Dragon and Varina, Lich Queen both have abilities that care about a given creature type, and neither have any ceilings: they get better with more of those creatures. But Sidar Jabari and Shelob, Child of Ungoliant both have abilities that just require you to have a single member of that creature type. Having more doesn't make their abilities any better. In the example you give, Neyali's second ability doesn't give you more cards beyond one for each player being attacked, so you always want at least 3 tokens in play, but you don't get more triggers by having more tokens after that. There's an argument to be made that having more creatures lets you go around blockers more easily, but I think I'd rather go taller with tokens than wider after reaching that threshold because of the double strike Neyali grants. So you wouldn't be maximizing your token makers, just including enough to make sure you've always got at least 3 tokens on board at any time. There isn't any formula, but you can always ask yourself "does this ability get better if I add more?" And that's always going to be a better guide than any fixed number. Thanks for watching!
@martinheraud1744 Convenient perhaps for higher power games, but not necessary. After that first turn they're really not good for much besides discarding, but that shouldn't overshadow the boost you'd get from accelerating your tineline by a turn.
@@aegisgamingofficial2178 Hi, thanks for reply! 1) Go soldiers tribal or not . 2) how to secure win regularly 3) how to build/ play without darien or how to protect him 4) darien is expensive af in mono white :D I know thats a lot, but I appreciate even small hints!
@@MrWnw Okay, in no particular order: 1) I don't see anything on Darien that rewards you for playing Soldiers, so I don't think this is Soldier Tribal for the same reasons that Shorikai isn't Pilot tribal. 3) I really like the Monarch for drawing cards, and in particular Court of Grace (and Luminarch Ascension). When Darien is in play, it gives your opponents a reason to give you more tokens by attacking you, and when Darien isn't in play, the Monarch can draw you cards while the enchantment makes more tokens. Which leads me to .. 2) Even though I don't think it's a soldier tribal deck, a tokens strategy that doesn't rely on- but is still helped by- Darien is what I think this calls for. White has a lot of anthem effects, and now Moonshaler Cavalry to help close out games reliably. With this kind of build, even when Darien is removed, your strategy is still online because he was there to help the rest of the deck rather than the deck helping him. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching 😊
@@MrWnw it could be any number of other related effects 🤣 Not necessarily MC. You'll probably be happier with Cathar's Crusade, though I personally stay away from it because keeping up with that many counters is complicated. Happy holidays!

proxied exactlly this decklist and i got to say, it's one of the most fun decks i've ever had in commander.
