    This video helped me decide half a year ago on what should be my first camera. You succeeded in persuading me and I don't regret that even a bit. So after some intense months of learning photography with the XT-10, I fullheartedly agree that it's great. While I don't have experience with other cameras, I'm definitely enjoying the journey so far. The JPGs really are amazing!
    Shooting wildlife most of the time, autofocus performance paired with small buffer size is my biggest problem with this camera. But that's not to say it doesn't work, you just have to know its strengths and adapt. Despite the challenge, I've taken dozens of photos I'm really proud of.
    It's been a joy and I'm excited for every new shoot.
    So thank you for this video.

    The X-T10 sensor is an X trans 2 sensor which also came on the X-T1 camera. This particular sensor seem to be the most film like of Fuji's sensors. I bought the X-T10 when it first came out in 2015, but kept it in the factory box because I liked the X-T1 so much more. I just gave my new X-T10 to my adult Niece, who loves it. I picked up the 15-45mm lens for it, nice combination.

      Hi Ronald! Thank you for your feedback. Yes, the X-T1 and X-T10 share the same sensor and the same image quality. Both are really nice cameras. The 15-45 mm is my favorite travel lens. Kind regards!

    Nice to meet you.
    I am using X-T10 with manual lenses . I like it very much.

    I have a questions,
    Does XT10 has focus zoom? It is crucial when focus peaking struggle in low contrast situation.
    Second, I heard the old Fujifilm model cannot peaking during video recording. Is that true? I can't find the concrete answer online. We're talking about the old models like XT10, XE1, XM1, and XA series.
    I want adapting a numbers of old lenses. I know the Canon M3 can peaking while recording video, but I'd like to try the fujifilm.

    • @tom_photo
      @tom_photo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! Thank you for asking. Yes, the X-T10 has a focus zoom. Press the center of the rear command dial to zoom in and out. I think generally one could say that focus peaking works during video with the models that have a dedicated video position on mode button on the left (X-T20, X-T30) but not if this is not the case (X-E2, X-T10 etc.). If you want very detailed information you can download camera user guide available online. I hope this helps.

    • @tom_photo
      @tom_photo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for this question. Fuji system has generally been a bit better for photography. However, the more recent models such as Fuji X-T30 are very capable video cameras as well. I'd say that if you care mostly about photography then the X-T10 is a really great choice. Its image quality is amazing and it's also affordable as you mentioned. Hi Tom! First of all, thank you very much for the video, it was very nice. I am a Wedding and Portrait photographer. Will the XT-10 and 35mm f2.0 lens be enough for me to start?

    • @tom_photo
      @tom_photo  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Umut! Thank you for asking. The X-T10 is among my favorite cameras. And the 35mm F/2 is a great universal lens. I'd say this combination is a good start. What you will be missing with the X-T10 is the additional card slot. A lot of wedding photographers prefer cameras that simultaneously write on two cards (to be sure that nothing happens to the valuable photos). Also, when using prime lenses they may prefer camera bodies with IBIS (e.g. X-T4, X-T5, X-HS, X-HS2, X-S10, X-S20, when it comes to Fuji). The 35mm lens is really great but for portraits you probably want to go over 35mm and you may like smaller F-stops for better bokeh. Here I find the XF 56mm F/1.2 a great lens to have. I hope this helped you. Kind regards!

    • @tom_photo
      @tom_photo  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Faith! Thank you for asking this interesting question. While I'm a fan on X-T10 I do admit that most people would prefer X-T100 because it's newer technology (better resolution, 4K video, more focus points, better battery life etc). Now the XF 18-55 is a generally more desired and much more expensive lens than the XC 16-50. I do not think that the XC 16-50 cannot get the job done. It can and it's a wonderful lens (more plastic than the other one but also lighter and smaller, easier to carry around). So now it really boils down to what you need the camera for. And secondly - what is the condition of these cameras/lenses. I'd pay attention to the shutter count of the cameras. If one has taken much less photos than the other then that's a bonus. I'd certainly look at the sensor and make sure that the sensor is without damage. I'd also look at the lenses carefully against the light to see if they are free of small scratches. If you are thinking of getting more lenses in the future (e.g. primes) and decide to not use zoom lenses that much then that could lean you toward getting the X-T100. I hope I could help you a little bit. I might be able to help more if you describe your photography plans a bit further. Kind regards!

      @tom_photo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Thanks for asking. I think the Fuji X-10 is among the best options as a travel camera. The XF 18-135 is no doubt a great lens, too, but you may find it a bit large for the X-T10. That said if the large focal length range is what you want then you should go for it. I've so far used my X-T10 with the XC 15-45 and this is a super compact lens. So I would find the 18-135 a bit too large. Often you see people use larger cameras with larger lenses and smaller cameras with smaller ones. Kind regards!

    Hi, I have an XT-10. In the eye sensor mode the preview just won't switch from LCD to the view finder, but there's no problem when I switch it with the view mode button. I guess there's something with the proximity sensor under the view finder. I'm just wondering if this kind of issue is fixable?

    • @tom_photo
      @tom_photo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Thank you for your question. I'd first check if the eye sensor is set up correctly in the camera menu. Next, I'd try to reset the camera back to factory settings. After that, see if your software is up to date. If not, download new version from the Fuji website. If all these fail then you may want to inquire from Fuji repair how much it would cost to fix. I'm quite certain it can be fixed but I don't know if it's going to be worth the expense. I hope I could help you a little bit. Please let me know how it went. Best of luck to you!

      Hi Mister Turtle Time! Thank you for your message. This camera is, indeed, a good purchase. Almost any Fuji X-mount lens will work with this camera. Smaller lenses are more convenient. Hello! Thank you for your questions. All the cameras you are mentioning are very good. The image quality of X-T10 and X-T30 are very comparable and it is not easy to say which is better. It's the lens that determines image quality more than the cameras, as you also stated. The X-T30 has more pixels on the sensor, so some people may like that. Video is a big difference, the X-T30 goes to 4K and its video is superb. I hope that helped you a bit. I've compared the X-T10, X-T20, and X-T30 here: th-cam.com/video/Ko4FufE_wDU/w-d-xo.html . Thank you for your question and greetings to HongKong. I do not have first hand experience with these cameras but I have inquired about them. The X20 is very similar to X10 which I own and this happens to be my favorite camera. I like how it makes me enjoy photography. It's also so small and so well built. Its lens is fast and offers a good focal length range. The X100 is certainly a step forward in terms of image quality. It has a fixed focal length of 23 mm. So if you want to use zoom, with this camera you cannot. I think X100 should work very well for street photography and the X20 is a bit better all-rounder. There is no doubt in my mind that both cameras that you mentioned are really great.

    you hint that autofocus isn't as impressive as newer cameras and i wanna know about this, because i am thinking about getting a old fujifilm camera to try and enjoy photography more than with current canon dslr.
    canon dslr has 9 fast auto focus points in the middle of the frame, but when using the screen it uses a really slow autofocus that is almost unusable, and moving where the focus point is is slow too. i assume that xt10 probably has better autofocus, but it's unclear, and i think it'd be disapointing if i got it and the autofocus was also really difficult to use. what's it like to use?

      Hi! Thank you for asking. I'm not sure what Canon camera you currently have but based on your description I think the X-T10 will be significantly faster. The X-T10 isn't slow. I think it's fully adequate and sufficient for most uses. It's just that it is not among the fastest ones. I've never had problems with auto focus speed. I should also mention that the auto focus speed will also largely depend on the lens you're using. And it really matters that the firmware is up to date. I'd like to help you more. @@tom_photo I got this camera about two or three weeks ago, and I am really liking it! it came with a ttartisan 27mm and even it's autofocus seems faster than the canon, especially outside of the centre area. I'm thinking about what lens I should get next, and I think it's pretty hard to decide. it feels like that either a lens doesn't really fill out my kit, or the lens is quite expensive! I am mainly thinking about getting the xf 18-55mm lens, after considering that it fills in the most of my kit at once and copies that are scratched are affordable. I was originally also considering XC 35mm f2, because it is a fast aperture and also has autofocus, but I think it would have too much overlap with my existing lens and also I wouldn't get much from the slightly higher aperture. I would really like the xf 35mm f1.4, and think it would be much more well rounded and fill it's own niche, but it's also way too expensive for me.
      i've also considered adapting my canon 50mm 1.8, but with international shipping or travel costs, i would probably end up paying more for the adapter than the lens itself.
      even though it's really expensive, it's very nice getting to be excited about lenses. i've realised that very few of the canon lenses were things i was interested in. it used to be frustrating looking at lenses and seeing nothing i liked! it's exciting now, although, still expensive

      @@bloodydoll5897 Hi! Thank you for the discussion about lenses. All lenses you are mentioning are very nice. It is difficult to pick out just one but I might have an idea for you. Why not consider Fuji XC 15-45? It's very sharp, offers a wide angle and is really affordable (th-cam.com/video/lkGXyrg5DiU/w-d-xo.html). If I could chose just one Fuji lens that would perhaps be my first choice for its versatility. Adopting Canon lenses should work , too, but I suspect not as well as native Fuji lenses. I've seen it with Nikon lenses that they are not as good with Fuji as they are with Nikon (th-cam.com/video/PSsyq8bYdio/w-d-xo.html). Fuji lenses are kind of special. I'd always recommend a native Fuji lens over any other. Kind regards!

I can't know if I'll like it until I try it, though. I've also overlooked it, purely because it's way less exciting than the more expensive lenses! Being boring may be a good thing, because it would fill role that more specialised lenses can't!
      I've been thinking more about the lens since replying and have done more research and I still don't think I'd like the power zoom, but I do think I would appreciate it's small size and image quality, in comparison to 16-50, which i've also considered. I've heard online as well that the 15-45mm is really sharp between 15-35mm and then above 35mm it is significantly less sharp, do you think that's true, and if it is, do you think it matters?
      I've also been thinking more about XC 35mm f2, because I realised I don't have a frame of reference for how f2 depth of field feels at 35mm, and that maybe I'm disregarding it too early because I assume it won't allow for creative subject isolation. I still think that getting a zoom lens next is probably best, though

There are digital tricks to improve its quality but I understand you are asking how to improve video directly on the camera. You said you had a problem with noise in your video. In those cases the number one reason is high ISO. What ISO were you using? What also matters is that the shutter speed is appropriate for the frame rate. Shutter speed value should be twice the value of frame rate (e.g. shutter speed 60 for frame rate 30 fps). Hi Maria! Thank you for asking. Fujifilm X-T10 is an absolutely excellent option for someone who doesn't know very much about photography but wants to learn. It's got automatic mode and all the manual modes to lead you into photography. Best of luck to you!

      @@tom_photoHi, im looking to buy my very first camera. I had experience working with it before, but it was the companies’ camera. Currently, im looking at sony a5100. Which one is better? A5100 or xt10, or do you have any other suggestion? Thank you.

      @@muhdamin205 Hi! Thank you for asking. This is not an easy decision because both are very good options. I must admit that I know much more about Fuji than Sony and I also happen to be a Fuji fan. Fuji offers amazing colors and I think they handle well and look really good. Sony on the other hand is becoming one of the most popular camera brands these days. The Fuji has a hot shoe for external flash and offers a viewfinder. For me the viewfinder is a major advantage. But Sony has touch screen and many more focus points. These are very nice features. I think many people would take the Sony but I'd maybe take the Fuji. I hope this helps you. Kind regards!

      Hi nikyabo! Thank you for asking. This is a great camera for stills photography and will work really well with a 35 mm lens. At the same time video is not its strongest selling point. The HD that it does is not very detailed. If you have other options to consider I'll be happy to give you my opinion. Kind regards!

    Should i buy xt10 or xt100?

    • @tom_photo
      @tom_photo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Thank you for asking. What camera to prefer is a personal preference. The X-T100 is newer technology and more capable, but it's also more expensive. I have have never owned X-T100 but I've found X-T10 amazingly good. If you want high quality video or care about connectivity you need to go with the X-T100. However the X-T10 has its advantages, too. It has larger pixel area and lower minimal ISO and a better ISO range, and it's also smaller. Both cameras are great, you cannot go wrong with either one of them. Kind regards!
