Compensation of doctors/other high level professionals in the US seems so strange to me as a medical student in Sweden (doctors are on average the highest paid category of professionals in Sweden outside of strict managerial roles). 75k dollars a month is about 10x the monthly salary of a doctor in Sweden (and our GDP/capita is in a similar range to the US) from the statistics I've seen presented by doctors on youtube most pediatricians in the US seem to make more than swedish brain surgeons as well. 75k in sweden really is more of a CEO of a company with several thousand employees type of salary in sweden. However I will mention that there is only a very small degree of variety in compensations between different specialties. The only way of really increasing salary is by working in private consultant capacity which is rare (less than 5% of doctors here do). Of course we don't have a very big medical insurance sector and that will have an effect on these things and on top of that we do not to pay tuition fees as all education is free. We do have a form of student loans, but this is really only meant to help with living expenses so one shouldn't be distracted from ones studies by trying make money for rent/food/utilities. This systems is managed by a department of government dealing only with these loans. The department gives the option of receiving only monthly stipends of 300 dollars/month while attending university this is is not a loan and is given to all university students that meet the criteria and apply (criteria is only that you can't have a income; salary of more than 1500 dollars a month, rent for a student assigned studio apartment usually costs between 300-700 dollars a month ). On top of the 300 dollar stipend you can take out a 0,4% interest loan of approx.850 dollars a month for up to 6 years. In general I think the swedish system is probably a lot kinder to it's students, their metal health and really tries to relieve pressure in any way it can to ensure your studies are as uninterrupted by financial issues or other surrounding factors as possible. Also by not having big differences in compensation it probably makes students more likely to choose solely based on interest of the specialty. However there really is barely any way to make even half of what the worst paid specialties do in the US. It's very interesting to see how countries with very similar GDP/capita have such big differences..
Her income is truly extreme even for an American physician. The average American physician makes about 330,000 USD. However, our schooling costs more and we work many more hours than European doctors.
You've to keep in mind that US companies on average are wealthier than European companies. Look at their net income and operating margins. They blow the water out of most European companies.
How was she maxing out her Roth IRA and 401k since 18? It's impossible to hit those numbers by 41 (because of max contribution limits) unless you're putting nearly 30K/year away while going through medical school.
Paying it off instantly would be dumb when you can use that money to make you even more in the future. Why pay a lump sum of 80k to avoid paying an extra 960 dollars a year when you can make 6k a year with a 80k investment at a 7% rate (average investment rate)? It's not like the bank is going to raid your house if you don't pay it off as soon as humanly possible, it is much smarter to use that money to invest either in yourself (her business) or in other assets and I think her loans must be federal or she refinanced her loans once she got out of medical school. Also, keeping up student loan payments helps your credit score and paying it off instantly would actually hurt your credit score temporarily because of no good reason lol
North Jersey or South Jersey? There are a number of references that would point to her living in the South Jersey suburbs, just across the Delaware River from Philly (Wawa, the Walnut Street Theater). While there are some neighborhoods over there that are full of million dollar properties, there are also quite a few where you could have bought a decent house 5-10 years ago in the $400-450k range and have a $2,600 mortgage.

To the invest instead of pay off student loans advice part. What would happen if you had no minimum payment, and invested that down payment amount each month instead of keeping debt?
My tenants all had better cars than me while I invested everything while working full time. I worked hard while others watched tv and played games. I don't think it's actually a 'mortgage' per se. Like Dr. Webb said, I think it's more so her home owners taxes, property taxes, probably a monthly HOA fee, etc., things like that, because living in Jersey for as much as she pays is pretty much impossible. Plus, she said she has three closets? So we know she has a huge house, so if shes living in Jersey and paying only 2,600 a month, its definitely not just a regular house payment!
For the same reason why she hasn't paid off her student loans. Consider the interest on debt a tax. At 5% interest, she would pay $500 a year for $10,000 of debt. If she had payoff amount in her bank account ($10,500) and instead invested the money with 10% returns, she would have earned $1,500 of investment income and an ending balance of $12,000.

However there really is barely any way to make even half of what the worst paid specialties do in the US.
It's very interesting to see how countries with very similar GDP/capita have such big differences..
Sone of her income is investments as she stated
Her income is truly extreme even for an American physician. The average American physician makes about 330,000 USD. However, our schooling costs more and we work many more hours than European doctors.
You've to keep in mind that US companies on average are wealthier than European companies. Look at their net income and operating margins. They blow the water out of most European companies.
Are we taking into account parents help and trust funds?
I like Dr Webb’s comments.... like the Nemam Marcus multiple gown purchase
Doc, you wild on this one 🤣
This is depressing I have to catch y’all on the next video 😂
"I donated 100$" while making almost 80k a month.
so?
@@3down55 You interpret this observation however you please according to your values.
Yeah, so? Her money. She doesn’t have to donate anything. I only do it for taxes.
Yeah I know how horrible of her, anyways how much do you donate "louis delarampe"?
@@felhed7676 This is your interpretation of what I observed. Your assumptions are embedded in feelings and biased by your perspective in life.
Hahah Dr-Webb is too good for reacting videos 😅
😂😂😂
"That's some...balling shit right there" LOL!!
What is crazy is that most people that make 80k spend money similarly to her…minus the comforter.
Real inspiration!
We have Buc-ee's in Alabama too!
Her: *says word Amazon 600 times
Jeff Bezos: 👁👅👁
Wawa is a small northern Ontario town....
She brought hella clothes at aliexpress fort a low price. Very smart spending.
Sometimes a single parent needs a babysitter. She really hates her ex.
I think she was trying to be funny, she's sarcastic. One 💖
Red Pill Ideology: She needs to pay for the babysitter because She is also working as well as he.
@@swoopes7777 What is Red Pill Ideology? I have never heard of it. I am not a doctor so please say it as simple as possible. One 💖
Yeah, she kept going back to him, emotions over the divorce still lingering id assume.
She sounds like another miserable single mom.
yes wawa is texas bucceees lol I'm from NJ and was Station at Ft hood
How was she maxing out her Roth IRA and 401k since 18? It's impossible to hit those numbers by 41 (because of max contribution limits) unless you're putting nearly 30K/year away while going through medical school.
oh I was thinking a comforter FOR a chinchilla
Anyone know if the Dr did a review of podcast Dr. Death ?
I don't know. If you make 80k/month I would pay off my 80k debt in a heart beat. Also who the hell has 1.2% interest on student loan debt?
She is financial goals! Hoping emergency medicine since she sounds like she has a lot of free time and I wanna do emergency medicine lol 😆
In the video she said she was an anesthesiologist
Remember Education is not the same as school
All the people in the comments say money doesn’t buy happiness. Ya but I’d rather cry in a $75k chinchilla blanket then in a cardboard box.
I like how he talked about her 75k purchase throughout the whole video 😂😂
I don’t know anyone who’s mortgage is 5k -6k in NJ and I’ve lived here my whole life.
Texas houses are just so cheap that this dude probably assumes that houses everywhere else cost an exorbitant amount.
@@anuragmahar9626 i heard they were cheap to but they probably won’t be when I’m ready to get one😭
@@anuragmahar9626 how would you even live on a 5k mortgage??
North Jersey or South Jersey? There are a number of references that would point to her living in the South Jersey suburbs, just across the Delaware River from Philly (Wawa, the Walnut Street Theater). While there are some neighborhoods over there that are full of million dollar properties, there are also quite a few where you could have bought a decent house 5-10 years ago in the $400-450k range and have a $2,600 mortgage.
@@cobrien5046 I said that because he was saying she most likely doesn’t have an expensive house and 6k is average
She’s making millions and still buying clothes off aliexpress??? Wtf! 😭
How to stay rich
More variety
You don’t have to look rich to be rich.
That's how she has so much in savings and investments. One 💘
@@Dr.Gamboa but you should def consider quality
I want to know the other investments so I can start when I finish medical school
Have you ever though of doing cosmetic leg lengthening?
She had my heart at Wawa❤️❤️ true East Coast girl right there. And yes, it's similar to Buckey's but Buckey's sells HomeGoods too from what I saw the one time I went. Wawa is purely food, coffee and gas
watch out for Diderot effect.
I have very very bad scoliosis I feel like its killing me soon the doctors aren't able to help me in my country but I knw doctors in America would but what can i do it's just so hard to get any kind of help
Dr. Webb I don’t know. But she earned it
I think Dr. Webb definitely earned it.
Dear doctor, i badly need ur advice.
As u know ai is coming and everybody says that the robots will replace doctors.
I am a medical aspirant, plz tell me is it the right time to go into medicine,or shall i pursue something else.
Plz reply.
Aliexpress is very popular, kinda like Chinese Amazon. But lots of cheap crap on there, known for at least.
Make a video of how you spent your monthly income as a Spine Surgeon
Hey Dr I need Surgery is there a TH-cam Discount code?
Start of the video I was thinking I bet she’s single as a female will never be satisfied with a partner that makes less than her…..then at 10mins she says she’s divorced lol
Dr.Webb do you ever plan on coming back to Shreveport for like a Ted talk or something
Is it Dr. Nina? If so I know she’s an anesthesiologist in the Philadelphia area
I thought that she was still in Jersey.
@@americanprincess851 - I’m actually not exactly sure where she practices now. Oddly, her social media says she now works out of U.T. Health science center of Houston but she still resides in NJ area… i don’t her that well so idk what her situation currently is. But she’s awesome n I hope to become as good of a physician as her once I enter my medical training
@@ryankelly8077 oh wow I didn't know that about her now. Good luck on your medical training.
To the invest instead of pay off student loans advice part. What would happen if you had no minimum payment, and invested that down payment amount each month instead of keeping debt?
On time payments improved your credit score
My tenants all had better cars than me while I invested everything while working full time. I worked hard while others watched tv and played games. Guess who is on the road to retire while they work a 9-5 forever. You choose your life. These people will then complain while you around in a Huracan or G63.
How old are you?
I’m only 23 and a new nurse but I wanna retire by 30-35 years old MAX lmao nursing is great but it’s still that 9-5 lifestyle. I wanna be my own boss and make my own money and have freedom in my elder years 😎
Meanwhile there are people that cannot even afford to get medical care...
With that kind of income I'm genuinely curious how or even why she has a mortgage.... Am I just too poor to understand?
To avoid tax
Dr You rock.
Just noticed you were a Staff Sergeant in the AF. At one point did you ever consider commissioning and being an AF doctor?
Spending a months salary on a blanket is some post divorce, take that spending
no wonder you are divorced no-one is gonna put up with her.
Dr. Nina Singh from NJ??? I think her last name is Radcliff now. (anesthesiology)
yo doc!!!!!!! how do you feel about chiropractic medicine?
