The average American anesthesiologist makes $400K/year, not even close to $1.3M. She's not just an anesthesiologist. She's an entrepreneur and probably runs multiple clinics, with entire staffs working under her. This isn't just a regular random doctor at your local hospital.
It's likely that her parents gave her that medical business too. Parents are probably in the same medical field.

Wow, Impressive the only way to stay rich is through stocks for sure.
I was advised to diversify my portfolio among several assets such as stocks and bonds since this can protect my inherited portfolio of about $2.5m. I’m used to just buying and holding assets which doesn’t seem applicable to the current rollercoaster market plus inflation is catching up with my portfolio. I’m really worried about survival after retirement.
True, I mostly just buy and hold stocks, but my portfolio has been mostly in the red for quite awhile now. Unfortunately to be able to make good gains, you’ll need to be consistent and restructure your portfolio frequently.
In my opinion, it was much easier investing back in the 60s but it’s a lot trickier now, those making consistent profit in these times are professionals reason I’ve been using an advisor for the past 5 years to consistently build my portfolio in preparations for retirement.

Don't become a doctor for the money because you'll never be motivated enough to make it, and even if you do, there are easier ways to make money. Do it because you genuinely like to help people, and wouldn't consider any other profession in the world.

@@theaniqa99 I think the time doctors would spend at Medical School can be used at thinking of ideas on what kind of business to open and invest money that you would invest in to medical school into a new business but it's not as safe as medical school.
Every one is talking about going back to school to be a doctor. They basically missed the fact that her investments and medical business probably makes up 90% of her income. I am more interested in the kind of business and investments she is doing.

You'll notice she mentioned her financial advisor. Once you are making serious money (let's say $250k+ a year), you don't manage your own money-- you leave it to professionals. Gardener for the garden, plumber for the plumbing, financial manager for the money.
For what it's worth, the average person would do very well investing their savings in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) which are like an easier version of the stock market and they appreciate at a rate of about 4-6% annually.

The chinchilla comforter part...I am sorry to know these are a trend. Apparently most chinchillas should have a lifespan ~10-20 years in the wild. They are domestically breed to produce fur. As a result, these poor creatures end up being skinned alive at about 8 months old. Chinchillas are an endangered species.

I hate the thought of a chinchilla comforter. But Not all cultures have concerns about animal rights. I lived in China for several years and the way I witnessed animals being treated horrified me. It was a big reason I returned to USA. Not saying USA is perfect. Just telling of my own experience.
