    Never assumed that. I wouldn't call struggling with grief a mental health problem. A lot of people struggle with grief. I assumed reborn dolls appealed to people who had lost babies. Or want babies and can't have them. Either way if you just wanna have one I don't see the problem

    • @Justsomebody009
      @Justsomebody009 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Btw I ain't saying if your struggling with grief not to seek help. Please please seek help if you are struggling and it's affecting everyday life. What I am saying is, grief is tough and hard to go through. It's hard to process for most people because not everyone has learned how to process it until later in life. Or triggered by grief from earlier in life. My son has lost 3 people in 5 years... He's 9. That's a lot. I have lost 5 people in the last 13 years. I'm 26. The first person I lost was my best friends bigger sister. To suicide and that's a whole different grief. The next was my great gran who I don't remember at all cause she lived in northern Ireland. I was 17 when she passed away of old age. Then it was the 3 people my son has lost that I also lost. Both his great gran, Grampa and an uncle. These are all my in laws. But I loved them as though they were my family. They took me in as if I was there granddaughter/niece. It's been 3 very big losses. But my experience of grief is different to my son because I've been. Old enough to process it all in an adult way. He was four/five when we lost his uncle. He doesn't remember him now. I think he can remember his presence though if that makes sense. When his big gran died his granny took him to her house to see big grandad and he didn't want to go in or stay long. I think that's when he realises she wasn't there anymore... His big grandad died 4 weeks ago. The funeral was this week. We took my son because he is old enough to know he's gone. And I think he needed that experience to say goodbye. Idk if I made the right choice or not for later on. I know that when my friends big sister died her son was 9 and didn't go... But I feel that's a much harder loss

      Exactly , when I lost my mother last August 7 th I decided to put my babies in bed with me and my moms stuff animals she received in the hospital before she passed away. That stuff animal represented her and I slept with it for weeks after cause I felt lonely for her .

      @@shedeserves365This one hit me in the feels. I lost my grandmother about 4 years ago when I was 15, in the middle of the pandemic and only 3 days after my birthday. She was the main one who took care of me when I was younger, and because of my sensitivity to texture and love for animals she would get me stuffed animals all the time. During my birthday she was almost entirely bedbound, but she still got me a gift, which was a heatable weighted stuffed cat. I slept with it daily for a year and a half after that, and every once in a while I still go and find it when I'm having a rough time.

      Grief is indeed a mental health problem. Why do you think they have grief counselors? I struggled with my mental health so much so after my best friend died that I became suicidal. If that isn't a "mental health problem" then I don't know what qualifies in your mind. Maybe you mean it isn't a "mental illness" which would be correct, but it is still a mental health problem.

    Im just discovering the world of reborns through your videos and let me tell you. I’ve had three miscarriages before I was told I probably can’t have my own children. And now I’m on medication that I REALLY couldn’t have a baby on even if I could. With all this I have a lot of baby loss trauma since all I’ve wanted since a child was to be a mom. ANYWAY. I’m now going to get a reborn doll. Not to replace having my own baby. But just to help with my healing process and be able to hold a baby when I feel like my world is crashing.
    I REALLY appreciate the work you do.

I’m too young to have babies at the moment and I’ve recently been really struggling with the fact that I can’t be a mom for many years. I’ve been considering buying a reborn baby doll that I can hold and pretend to take care of when I’m having a particularly hard day yearning for a child to care for. I think it would be a good thing for me but I’m hesitant because I still live at home and I’m concerned about my family finding out and giving me a hard time because I know that other than my mom, they won’t understand.

He was in the baby beds prob to show size. I wanted him so bad I begged my parents for him. The weight was super comforting to me. At the time they said no because he was like 100$ but later they went back to the store and got him for me for Christmas and I was in love. I still have him. My sensory needs are not as bad as they were when I was little. but I can imagine someone with more needs finding the dolls comforting into adult hood. I have been trying to figure out why specifically reborn dolls would be more comforting than say a regular baby doll, I get the more realistic the baby looks and feels helps but I never really thought about the weight, that’s a good point. As I get more involved in dolls in general I do find myself talking to them I don’t find it odd since I talk to my cat, I even talk to my car! Sometimes my kids give me the double take look but I have always been the type of person that speaks my thoughts out loud like when I am looking for something or I am planning /working on something. I really am trying hard to get the hang of trying to make dolls in general just a little more realistic I think this would help people who maybe cannot afford to spend the money on an actual reborn (although I am trying to learn that technique as well)I think given the correct technique you can make anything look more life like/real. I am so glad that people can find comfort in dolls in general it’s really a shame so many people feel they need to hide it or feel that others will think it’s something wrong with them, it’s no different than having a teddy bear collection or a matchbox or comic collection if it brings you comfort and joy or can help someone with an illness or going through a difficult time what’s wrong with that? I’m hoping I can get to the realistic level in painting because my mother has dementia and sometimes she cries because she doesn’t know where her children are -and I am her daughter sleeping right there in the room with her every night, I think a doll might help her but I believe it has to look and feel more realistic then what I have painted so far. Fingers crossed my reborn kit doll comes out ok, I guess mom’s reaction will let me know.

      Imagine people not wanting or not being able to conceive real babies. Kids also have these for toys.

      I can tell you that a doll can’t even come close to the cuddle of a real baby but ykw, real babies cause way more discomfort on the daily, only want cuddles when you’re busy and scream if you put them down. I can see why some people may prefer dolls over real babies
      (Love my babies but sometimes I wish they’d be as quiet and still as a doll 😂)

      Children are not therapy tools. When you have a child, you should not be using them for your own comfort or for them to help fix your mental health issues.

      Honestly no… the reasons I find holding my dolls comfortable wouldn’t exist in a real baby. One reason like the creator said you can hold them tight that would hurt a real baby. Also I would be super anxious holding a baby so that wouldn’t help anxiety it would create it

    buying a realistic baby like that because it's "cute" is beyond creepy. you need therapy, not a strange doll, its noncey

      Huh? I mean, I don’t have these but what’s the difference between her saying that and another woman saying she wants to have a real baby because they’re cute? Which happens literally all the time…

      @@holaitserin wanting a baby, real or not, because it's "cute" is deranged. lusting over babies is creepy. if your sole purpose for having a baby is because you think it's cute then you're a complete moron and entirely selfish
