I could not f**king imagine watching someone murder my brother in front of me....and me be absolutely helpless to do anything about it. Rest in peace my brothers.
You just watched one of the most beautiful metal songs of all time. Phil vocals on this are angelical and brutal and Dime could demonstrate that a guitar could sing and scream.
The night after Dimebag was killed, I was in the ol' local neighborhood Music Video store that specialized in Metal. Id just returned from living off grid for years in Alaska and was clueless as to anything going on. The employees were all metal heads. One I recall was in Dangerous Toys. That night, they were playing something I hadnt heard before, but sounded familiar. I went up front to ask what band was playing, and the guy broke down in tears! Being out of touch for so long, I knew nothing about Damage Plan....or that Dimebag was the guitarist. The guy just looked at me soooo sad, and said, " Its Damgage Plan man!@!" , I must have returned his comment with a confused look, and he yelled.."PANTERA!?!? DIMEBAG!?!?! HES DEAD, SOMEBODY FUCKING SHOT HIM LAST NIGHT!" ......................My heart sank to the same level of pain he was expressing!!! RIP Dimebag and Pantera!!!! All the years, and Ive never grown tired of hearing the sweet sweet sound of metal they were masters of!!! And Ive yet to find anything that fill that void. True Greatness!!!
Pantera is the greatest metal band in music history, and Dimebag Darrell Lance Abbott is, and was the greatest metal guitarist in music history... Period... Rest in peace Dimebag Darrell, and Vinny Paul Abbott... AKA the Abbott Brothers, AKA thunder and lightning! Also, I love watching you guys, that girl really loves you bud... Please do "Mouth For War" by Pantera as soon as you can! Also "The Floods" by Pantera!
Wich Metal genre u ment! I agree Pantera is imo top 3 HC/Trash Metal bands ever! Top 3 metal bands, umm maybe... ..just Finn here, sorry. I Dont know metal and such. 😅❤
This was when Phil was in his prime before the alcohol and heroin took control, the making of the great southern trend kill album was a very bad time for the band and Phil himself, people definitely hold a lot of opinions on Phil but there is no denying in his prime he was by far one of if not the best metal vocalist.
Pantera is definitely my favorite band. Rip Dime and Vince 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘. Dave you gotta introduce ash to the live video, yesterday don't mean shit live ozzfest 2000
Phil, after all the grunting and screaming after this album, couldn’t do this song live for awhile. We knew him, and knew Dime better. But Phil had ruined his voice and had to go to a vocal coach to get it back. Needless to say, fans were disappointed in that one tour cuz they couldn’t hear this great song.
I was lucky enough to see them in the early 90's 3 times. The first time they opened for Skid Row. My wife and I had only heard a couple of Pantera songs so we went to see Skid Row. But we left huge Pantera fans. At 50 years old I am still a huge fan. I love seeing new people being introduced. Keep up the great work.
Ah come on Dave, I was counting on you to be the one to do the album version over the video version! Completely understandable why though and an enjoyable video, as always! You can really see when the Heroin took over Phils life based on his live look/performances. He was incredibly slurry and belted some huge growls/roars
Been watching for awhile and I really enjoy your banter and personalities overall. However, as a gamer who likes and played metal guitar this was the best intro banter ever. I'm now craving to go to my gaming desk and firing up a game. Great reaction as well per usual. Anyway- I know I should comment more for the algorithm, but keep up the great work. Get some rest and get better!
I live 30 minutes from where Dimebag was murdered back in 2004 and was supposed to be at that show that night in Columbus Ohio at Alrosa Villa. I had the Flu really bad and gave my ticket to a friend. RIP Dime and Vinnie.
Yall should react to glam band era of pantera. They were actually pretty sick. Dimebag was like a young ace frehley. Pantera -all over tonight is so underrated. Yall should watch them live at ozzfest too
RIP DIME AND VIN!GETCHA PULL!BLACTOOTH GRIN!Let's go!!FYI Best Metal band ever.OBD Dave before u say anything, remember metal went dead to grunge before Pantera! And u know this....MAN!Show Domination Live!OBD knows!
Agree. I couldn't watch this. I heard the first three notes and switched it off. It misses the 16 or 20 bar intro. This was the "mainstream release" version. What a dogs breakfast.
I wouldn't even wanna see the new version of Pantera live lol. Pantera was Dime & Vinnie's band, now these dudes are touring trying to bank out on their success when they're no longer here. The reason they had chop down the touring schedule so much is because of the backlash, and it's well deserved.
I was lucky enough to see Phil hit the notes in Cemetery Gates. I was in a band that opened for them. DIME was the real deal. I had the pleasure of talking to him a number of times. The amount of partying these guys did.I am sure this affected Phil's voice. It takes a lot of discipline to maintain that range. RIP Abbott Brothers Darrell and Vinny.
In those early days , I`d be at afterparties with them and Phil was careful not to let Diamond see him smoke weed (was frowned upon for vocal protection)
Really enjoying your reactions guys, I've just very happily subscribed. Good to see your appreciation of various genres including some of the oldies I grew up listening to (Johnny Cash, Moody Blues etc.) I could give you pages of recommendations, but one more modern one I'll mention is Pentatonix's version of Hallelujah. I'm sure you'll love it.
I saw these guys in the early days and then twice a month in the local ,small club for over a year after Phil joined. You could tell they were going to go somewhere early on. Used to go to afterparties with them at Allen Parkway Inn (cheap motel) also, which was cool
First Pantera song I heard, then first Pantera album I owned. Life changing in general but definitely in musical appreciation. I was 25 ft up, walking a foot wide plank doing construction when I heard Dime was taken. I broke down in tears.
You mentioned Phil being the best vocalist at the time. And yes...he was a great vocalist. But he was far from the best. Geoff Tate... and the metal god himself Rob Halford were both in their prime at the same time and they could easily out perform Phil.
I can't believe you didn't show her the full version. A bit embarrassed for you.
Pantera and Alice In Chains are my 2 favs Phil and Dime +Layne and Jerry

If by best, you mean most overrated, then yes.
Ah...no...sorry. they should be in the "4" ..id trade megadeth for pantera.
Not the greatest but one of the greats. Everyone has their opinions tho
Wich Metal genre u ment! I agree Pantera is imo top 3 HC/Trash Metal bands ever! Top 3 metal bands, umm maybe...

PLEASE introduce Ash to MORE Lost in the Pond!!!!!
I'd LOVE to hear her perspectives on American cultural differences!
"PANTERA "Cemetery Gates" Gone Polka by STEVE 'N' SEAGULLS | Metal Injection" Quite interesting version...
Check out Phil Anselmo Band Down. The song.. Stone The Crow

Phil will always be in his prime!

Love Pantera but would love to see some Overkill and Flotsam and Jetsam reactions
This song came off the COWBOYS FROM HELL album from 1990 RIP DIME AND BIG VINN ✌️🧐🤘😎
The video cuts out one of the best intros ever recorded....smh...listen to the album version
Hey, Ash, if you're sick, you're sick. Get better...
the intro bro, where's the intro? you showed her part of a song.
Wasn't Pantera originally classed as Glam Rock when they first started playing?
Yeah they actually had that look and sound (kind of) to begin with. Glad they came into their own.

I'm 56, a musician and this band will never get boring. Really had to stretch my little fingers on bass
Ash needs to hear Seasons In The Abyss...
You should check out The Rodeo Song
Dude, I hope you realize how lucky you are. Having a partner that's interested in the same stuff as you. Great, genuine reaction. Cheers!
The joy on Dave’s face is awesome.

Why do you repeat your self-identification at the beginning of each video? Am I missing something?
I AM THE NIGHT
MORE PANTERA MORE PANTERA!!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘👍👍👍👍
Good.
Youre a trooper girl.
Hope you came on through it well.
I can picture you a kool headbanger.
Yall kool together. Tks. 🤘✌️
Yall should react to glam band era of pantera. They were actually pretty sick. Dimebag was like a young ace frehley. Pantera -all over tonight is so underrated. Yall should watch them live at ozzfest too
Common cold cure, coffee, acetaminophen, nicotine. Worked for me for 40 years. 🤘

There's a music video for the full song out there with Dime playing the intro. Should of done that one, Dave.
Agree. I couldn't watch this. I heard the first three notes and switched it off. It misses the 16 or 20 bar intro. This was the "mainstream release" version. What a dogs breakfast.
I wish people would watch the version on TH-cam that combines both of the videos for Cementary gates.

@@Christatum411 yes but he gave up, it pissed him off though. Dime wouldn't let me smoke either. He knew it can destroy your voice along with whiskey.
Wait until you get to Malenia ,in Elder ring.!!
Phil slowly grew into his grown-up deep whisky voice :)
Pantera and Slayer favorite bands? Yup id have a beer or 8 with Dave. \,,/
Feel better soon, Ash!
Please do by demons be driven by Pantera, such a good song
Damn, you saying Dime died 20 years ago made me realise it was 30 years ago I saw them at Brixton Academy. Enjoying your videos.
Con todo respeto, son una bonita pareja y ella es muy hermosa, Que gusto que hayan apreciado la canción en pareja
Try avenged sevenfold bat country or wicked end
Almost no one reacts to the entire version of this song. This is the one everyone uses. It’s too bad because the actual beginning is awesome!
Great song, great album.
a real reacter get impressed of phil's high pitch screaming voice at the end, she didnt
Yes Friends Phil can indeed SING HIS ASS OFF..!!!
Could
5:30 is the exact moment in her face
she gets pissed off and goes Brit against an American band
dimebag=god, top 5 guitarhero ever for sure
you should go to download in matching pajamas
I live my dime and Minnie's grave. I'll leave a beer for you dave.
Dimebag is the goat for a single guitarist metal band. He’s unreal. Huge fan for 25 years now.
I like Ashes shirt seeing as it's where I am from nice
Why do you feel old because it was yesterday!
Looks like the video Go to Hell by Megadeth.
I wish they added the Intro to the music video
How does one go from the greatness of Dimebag Darryl to the noise of Kerry King
And please never forget Rex Brown on the bass! One of my favourite bass players!
Likely the least talked about. Bassist. He sings as well. I wish he had a tiny bit more Geddy Lee signature sound bass.
I remember first learning that guitar solo when i picked that song to learn. My guitar teacher told me I better eat my wheaties cereal for that one. 😂
6 mins in and her comment is about hair
Wrong version. Lol
Previous Pantera's style was kind of glam hair metal that's why Phil can hit high notes late in early 90's Pantera's groove melodic metal.
Was glam with Terry on vocals.Once Phil joined ,the first album , Power Metal is more Priest or Maiden like (regular heavy metal) , not glam
You should check out the live version
Also the "it's alright, you're doing great" was lovely to see
Broad is trying to hide a smirk the whole time. Seems about right
Meanwhile she looks like Peter Steele
@09:33 FACTS

Such a trooper

These guys absolutely blew my ears off the first time hearing them in 91' my favorite metal band of all time
My favorite solo of Dime and possibly my favorite Pantera song
First Pantera song I heard, then first Pantera album I owned. Life changing in general but definitely in musical appreciation. I was 25 ft up, walking a foot wide plank doing construction when I heard Dime was taken. I broke down in tears.
I had to take the night off
It's NOT Pantera. It's a tribute to Pantera because you can't have Pantera without Vinnie and Dimebag
This isn't music, it's just noise!! Justin Bieber makes REAL music!!
Green Jellö makes real music, Justskin Beaver is a paid MTV electric vehicle shill
