@nathearn Karate useless and pathetic sport. It's an uneffective martial art. If you meet a boxer or a wrestler your skills mean nothing
@@Troll198. typical “street fighter”, fight a skilled practitioner of karate and you’ll soon change your views
@@kyun7193 IM not a street fighter xd

The reason they aren't improving, is simply because you haven't mastered the side kick yet. THE SIDE KICK IS BEST KICK. OUT OF AN INFINITE NUMBER OF KICKS, THE SIDE KICK IS THE BEST. Also, when nat said you aren't taking feedback into consideration, he is right, take my feedback and master the side kick

I train martial arts from the age of six (seventeen now) and one thing that has never leaved me is the fact that there is always something new to learn
The 5th one hit hard. For the past year I have been training for 5 hours a day for 5 days a week, but I kept getting injured which would put me out for weeks to months at a time, so I haven’t been able to improve much. I am working on lessening my training and taking care of myself.
Definitely put your health first there, that’s a lot of training - while I respect the dedication massiveky you have to listen to your body👊
I’m the opposite, when someone gives me criticism, I embrace it.
When someone tells me I am improving, and I cannot see it, I resent my progress.
Thnx.. i needed the 5th advice 💙
thank you for the tips bro, needed to hear that👊
You’re very welcome bro👊
Thank you bro! Greetings from greece
Another great and quality video! You never disappoint us.
Thank you for that support!!
Thanks for the help 🙂 👍 🙏

Hey man I was wandering if you can do a video on your favourite martial arts movies and why :)
And also you can give your thoughts on Michael Jai white ,van damme ,Dolph Lundgren ,Scott adkins
This Is Exactly What I Need
🤝🤝
How to improve your martial arts ability:
Step 1:Get into a toxic relationship
Step 2:Wait for your partner to break up with you
Step 3:Experience heart break.
Absolutely🤣
Point 2 is so accurate
🤝🤝
Hey Nat, I would love a long video on how to improve kumite and one dedicated to kata sessions one can do at home.
I will try to get that out👍
Taking in feedback has to be the biggest thing, from this channel, your parents, sensei, colleagues etc.
Recently I was struggling with some counter fighters and so I've been trying to bait more but when I did some partners still had their defence ready... A better guy in the gym just said keep going with your combo...
That's all I needed to hear..
And being willing to say to someone, I'm struggling with xyz...
100% keep up the good work👍
could you do some karate tutorials like kata and basic point sparring techniques. And maybe some bunkai to go along with the kata
The fifth one is honestly very relatable for me. I hate missing a day of my martial arts. If not for my only other hobby (gaming) I would be constantly physically exhausted and sore. (I still have sleep deprivation sadly)
Bro finally this time he made a video🎉
I’m trying to find the perfect balance between hard, work and resting. I have ups and downs with my progress, but I make sure I stay consistent at the very least.
Thanks Nat for sharing, this video is useful for me, I value health, I like Nat to do some content on body health 😇👍
Glad you found it useful💪
Really loved your general tips and guidance Nathaniel. For me how I trained meaning for example Monday I practice kumite skills and drills then one day later I take a rest. After Tuesday rest then I’m ready to go again. What do you think Sensei Nathaniel?
Hey Nat ,I have a question .As a karate practitioner,is it a good idea to go to the gym and do martial arts or shall I just rely only on body weight exercises such push ups ,squats ,sit ups and lunges ?
What will be your advice on this ?
Yeah, I tend to neglect stretching...and resting but I allways think I don't train enough (I usualy train 4or5 day a week in thai kickboxing, wresteling/grappling and sometimes mma).^^
Hey Nat, could you maybe do a video about a home workout for Karate or martial arts in general?
Me who never trained before trying to understand how my martial arts is not improving
You described me in the 5th tip. Really wanted to hear it from you. I hated taking rest days just because i felt i can always do something, but once i start, i go the extra mile, ya feel me?
I do everything you say, I practice 10 times a week (2 times a day every day except for the weekend), I don't rest tbh but I'm not letting my ego go, I have too much of it and I like it
Good stuff keep it going man👊
I thought it was because of my poor health , it turns out that I am not the only one with this problem 😩😩💨
I'm the one Nat said , I was working so hard , practicing so hard ( I want to slack off, but I feel like it's not good 😮💨 ), thinking the more I practiced the better , I barely rested and ended up with sore thighs , arms pain , back pain , low back pain , body aches , and sometimes I couldn't sleep , It affects the quality of sleep , poor sleep quality, lack of sleep, feeling very tired , break me down 😵😩💨
Regarding the feedback from the coach - my coach told me numerous times I cannot coordinate my legs which affected me a lot so I'm now taking boxing classes (pray for my legs)
You r the best bro
You're bro, it would be awesome if I could get a chance to train with you. I'm being trained to be a kickboxing coach at the moment. I'm assuming you live in the uk as do I. Keep up the great work bro 😎
HERE ME OUT…THIS MAN IS A DREAM
Thankful I am very consistent with my stretching. I stretch every day.
Good work👊
@@nathearn thanks man. I do karate just like you. It would be really cool if we could train together. 😎
Please help us figure out how to balance studies and Martial Arts in such a way we easily manage time for each activity and get proper rest too without stress
I’ll see what I can do
The video was pretty informative, thanks for it.
Is there a similar concept of easy and hard gainer in Martial arts too as it's in body workout?
You’re welcome, I’m not quite sure what you mean by that question sorry
So nat can you please do a workout for martial artist specially for legs and arms
Training ( at my local Dojang) I do twice a week ( other training) ie patterns, flexibility and cardio ( that I do at home)
Hey Nat I watched this video a few days after you uploaded this and now I have improved a lot so thank you so much!
i keep do stretches and i practice kicks daily & im pretty sure its improving day by day, i have made good balance on my kicks
Nice, keep up the great work💪

Quick question is normal for my coach to make remarks about my looks?
First I did taekwondo when I was fatter and he would make remarks about that
Now I'm boxing and lost 30lbs My other coach told me I'm ugly today
Nah that's weird lmao, why is your coach caring about your looks.
@@ElselchoGaming ok thank you I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought that was weird
The reason why my martial arts isn't improving is because I don't do martial arts
Same lol

Practice practice practice.
Nice!
Thank you!
my sensei says that i'm overtrained .im doing calisthenics while doing karate . Im training everyday in morning and evening . should i limit it ?
You should take 1-2 days off from calisthenics to recover and then go back to the dojo
You should probably train 5 days a week if you got good genetics. Definetly limit it, and you'll improve faster
Maybe take one rest day per week to allow your muscles to heal up before going back to it again👍
Brother can you do more martial artist exercise and progression please.
👍👍
I think i'm gonna start training 4 days a week. I think 6 days is too much for me and i always feel like i got worse while training.
That’s fair enough, listen to your body👊
Can you show you doing sparring with friends that have martial arts backgrounds?

are you planning to compete one day?🤔
He did compete he’s gold medal in shotokan I think
@@Warmonger6785 wow thats great, i was wondering if his gonna compete as a pro
I already do, probably not in professional fighting though
I really wish I started young. I started only a year ago when I was 18.
You are young, there’s plenty of time for you to be good👊
Hey Nat I am a brown belt in karate(Shotokan) and wanted to ask if a punching bag is helpful for my karate as well as my sparring
Not a karate guy (muay thai), but a heavy bag is a classic tool used in all striking combat sports to improve power, stamina and footwork. Although it can not replace actual sparring it can help you become a better fighter (provided you do not pick up bad habits from it). Provided you do actual sparring may I personally recommend a double end bag you can not hit it as hard but you develop defence timing,, stamina plus it is easier to set up in a home gym, cheaper and can easily be taken down then set up later
Also doesn't your dojo have heavybags?
@@user-uf6fs2rn6s I learn karata in my actual school like the academic ones and they have a room as a dojo (no facilities )and its once a week so i have no other option but to practice at home(I am in a remote area so there aren't any other option)
Hi Nat, Question do you ever use resistance bands for kicking practice?
according to my result and his posted video, i suggest u dont have to use resistance bands for kicking practice, its only optional for punches(my opinion), for better kick, u should train your chamber leg and slow the kick down(make sure u feel comfortable then u can speed up) in order to provide your kicking strength and speed
Another reason why your martial arts isn't improving?
Not showing up.
Facts
Hey man what advice would you give someone who wants to improve while training at home only?
Keep up your stretching/training every day, make sure you’re always picturing your end goal, it’ll help you stay motivated👊
Hlo brother when iam fighting i got tension and tell me how to relax from india
Can you make a video reacting to Kung Fu Panda kicks?
Hey nat. My little brother is 12 years old and is struggling with what martial art he should use. I recommend him to do boxing but he wants to do something else because he wants to get good punches and kicks but since my family can’t afford 2 martial art subscriptions at the same time i decided to ask you since you know best about Martial Arts. Please reply when you can since my brother is getting bullied and i have to deal with it everyday.
I would say maybe kickboxing👍
@@nathearn 🙏
Go with itf taekwondo, muay thai just anyone of this is better
Goodnight, Nat 👋😊🐹
Goodnight👊
Wait would meditating count and being consistent
Hi Nat. Thanks for the video. What if I do my boxing sessions (actually very hard for beginners) 3 days per week and have no energy to continue after few weeks. Is it possible that I should have less sessions and more rest before my body will accept those load?
Ye if you can't do your current intensity then slightly lower it until your at a comfortable level and then build up from there
Yes if you feel like it’s too much then it’s fine to lower the frequency of the sessions👍
Hey ive been hitting my sand bag for years now, and i can seem to not mess up my hands. How many times do they break before their iron.
Hit the lower part of the bag where the sand is stuffed if yk what im talking about
I must say though fella. As someone who has done a full-time job and managed to find time to get marital arts slotted in. It's very hard to those who work demanding jobs or two jobs or worse do things for stress relief like drinking or smoking. These all make inconsistencies in training. Thus, its a bit easier when your professional or manage to make time. But I certainly wouldn't give up on it.
Yes I understand that, I wish you all the best with it, don’t give up👊
@@nathearn also as I discovered a few weeks ago. It doesn't help when you have hand injuries or a fractured elbow. Haven't been doing any training for two weeks
Hey nat, i just wanna say is it ok to train 6 days a week.
Ive done hapkido and muay thai for about a month and i want to add kyokushin karate which in turn makes it 6 days of training. 2 days for each martial arts. Is it ok or no? Btw is muscle building good for kyokushin?
Depends on your goals with each discipline, fitness goals, intensity of lessons, etc. If you're doing it casually I don't think there's a problem as long as you're eating right and resting
But also hapkido sucks lol
@@helenabrooks384 hapkido is the only judolike art near me
@@helenabrooks384 tbh I'm just trying to actually fight hard hapkido is kind of an introduction to basics like kicking and punching and etc. It helped me in Muay Thai alot considering that it helped me learned how to do a round house correctly. Kyokushin is for conditioning and some of karate only kicks. Muay Thai is for striking, elbows and knees and learning how to box. Hapkido for their judolike throws(teacher leans into more judo fundamentals) and also for tkd kicks. This is kinda like building a sort of fighting stuff. So u know
@isitchillyinahut5921 Gotcha. If you're training pretty hard it's probably better to ease off and not do 6 days of hard training because your body wouldn't get as much rest and you wouldn't see improvement as quickly. That being said, if you did like, 3 hard days and 3 lighter days then it would be better for your body and your "gains".
@isitchillyinahut5921 So like, to answer your original question yes, it's okay to train 6 days a week, however, adjusting the intensity of each day is going to be key in making sure you see improvements and don't burn out.
As like Bruce Lee say to have no Technic they follow to much of Technic and system that will to allow them to expand in real fight
I've been working on my low kick but I just can't get any power from it. I train everyday once and my low kick is still trash.
How
Hey bro I wanted to ask that can you improve and master kicks is karate or taekwondo by training at home ? Like by watching your and other martial artist videos like will I reach a certain level that I can say I am a martial artist by only training at home ?
You can improve your kicks at home, just remember to stretch daily & try to get yourself more flexible, you can do butterfly stretch, half split, kossack squat, and if you got to a degree where you feel confident you can go with the splits. Also, if you want to train stability & control, holding kicks position is a good option, for example side kick hold. It develops good control. You can be a martial artist at home, but for best results, i still recommend you to try finding a dojo/dojang/gym with a coach so your coach can fix your technique & make you a better martial artist :)
When it comes to KICK, you can improve and get good at kicks. But if you want to be considered a msrtial artist, you have to train other parts of your art like kata or taegeok. Also, sparring is the most important because you need to be able to use your skills...if you cant, your not that different from other people. Thatd just my opinion but good luck in your training!
Also Genetics, genetics, genetics haha. Look at Nat, he looks like a super model plus he can kick your head in. It really sucks but genes are a big factor in life that I finally realized now.
well sure, not everyone is a natural athlete. But don't use this as a cope. Martial arts don't come as naturally to some as it does for others. But that's fine, if you are one of those people who it doesn't come naturally too, you can still learn. But also, maybe you aren't doing the right martial art for you. Find a style that you feel most comfortable with and even one that plays to your strengths and mitigates your weaknesses. You may not get as good as Nat ever, but that's a really high bar. He's a gold medalist and he's only like 21 with 17 years of martial arts experience already. When I say "you" by the way, I'm not necessarily talking about you, but in a general sense.
It does play a role, but it’s not a limiter either, I was actually very unflexible naturally and it took me a couple of years to stretch out to my current flexibility, just takes lots of hard work👊but you can definitely do it
Bro I got some body fat a little bit.... should I lose them first? or can I start learning martial arts already?
As long as you are safe about it, a combination of martial arts and fat burning exercises will be an even faster turnaround. Maybe the martial arts could become your motivation! I’m no expert though, do what seems right for you, and talk with your instructor.
You can start now. The idea that you need to lose weight first is a misconception. Training the martial art will make you lose weight and get you in shape.
Let's gooooo
Yo Nat, are you related to Eddie Hearn?

I shadow box at work
Recently I stabbed my instructor in the face with my shinai during Kendo practice, rather than cutting a nice clean men.
He got rather annoyed but gave me some good feedback, mainly that I should learn to sense/create opportunities better. Rather than trying to make smaller men cuts, because my men cuts are as small as they can get already without it getting dangerous.
Feedback is important friends

Nat i ask u to face with ur biggest nightmare:Grappling
😂😂
So i have a queston can you self learn martial arts cause ryumai aka baby bruce lee learned so
Realistically, no. Technically yes, you can self learn anything. You could self teach open heart surgery. But what are the odds of a decent surgeon coming from a self taught background? Same goes for martial arts, you’re gonna need the gym. You need the coaches guidance and you need to practice with other people.
That being said, a lot of progress can be done alone. Shadow boxing, hitting the bag and practicing form. In fact the best athletes do a large chunk of their training alone, because it’s the people who shadow box and hit the bag after the gym who excel.
But to learn a martial art entirely outside of a gym? Not really advisable to be honest.
you do Mauy Thai right??
