I started taekwondo at age of 7 and now i do kickboxing (am 14) i have a problem since i stopped taekwondo which is flexibility but am working on it . I also found out that tendons actually are more powerful than muscles (in kicking jumping etc) thats why nba players get to jump high although they are skinny . So yea having muscles and strong tendons will actually make u stronger in any martial arts
There is nothing wrong to get 1st dan black belt at 10 yr old. I do not think you will continue training Karate if they delayed your promotion just because you are too young. Especially for children, there are a lot of other activities out there which might attract them more if the progress in Karate etc. is too slow.
Facing a bit of issue with my Kyokushin karate club since I'm moving but your journey inspires me to take other styles of karate (and kali training). So, if you excuse me, I'm going to ask if a seido and shotokan club will take me in.
