This made me smile so much! Hiawassee is where my family is from. It is also where my father & aunt were both recently laid to rest this past spring near beautiful Lake Chatuge. I’ve always considered Hiawassee my home away from home. Growing up my Dad never moved there due to lack of work as it was very small back then. Now… I find myself day dreaming of leaving behind this crazy busy city life in Florida to connect with my Georgia family history! Hiawassee has always been where I pictured living eventually but you have peaked my interest in Dahlonega for employment reasons. Hubby & I work for our local college & joke about finding a mountain college town to relocate to & work at. Guess we better look at Young Harris & Dahlonega! Love the videos, thank you for sharing the beautiful mountains!
You are very welcome, thank you for watching! Yes, Young Harris & Dahlonega would both be great choices for working at local colleges. I wish you the best of luck in your journey, and please reach out if I can help in any way!
I am related to the Ellers, my dad was born in what use to be the music barn in downtown decades ago! The cabin was originally located off up upperhightower Rd. it was taken down and rebuilt for community use. I too fantasize about moving to Hiawassee in a few years! I am exploring work from home opportunities to help make our snow birding a success ( Florida & Georgia). I want to do summers in Ga and winters in florida.
It's really hard to select my favorite. I live in Dawsonville, but I spend many weekends in Dahlonega. In the summer, don't forget Suches and Two Wheels of Suches. It's just fantastic!
Hi I’ve been look at houses on Zillow in north GA for the past year. I’m just about ready to pull the trigger. I’m from NJ. And dahlonega and hiawassee are the two area I’m really interested in.
Something that would be great to add would be the quality of the schools. Because as much as I’d love to live in N GA, often the schools are not as high quality as they are in metro Atlanta.
Once again, a fantastic and informative vid. Do you happen to have the population growth information for the towns (Part 1 and 2)? Doesn't have to be "down in the weeds" specific but just trying to get a feel for what we can expect. We're fine with growth but trying to avoid "boom-towns". We stayed in Jasper, to check it out, at the end of May. However, it, along with Dahlonega make us nervous being only 1 hour away from ATL. Hiawassee and Blairsville, so far, are at the top of our list (we've visited both and will be back).
I don’t currently have the growth information, but I can certainly try to find out and get back to you. Living in Blairsville, we definitely don’t feel any effects from Atlanta. We still visit south of Atlanta often, and as soon as we make it to Jasper, we already feel more at ease…less traffic and less people. Lol!
@@higherelevationsrealestate great! Take your time, it seriously doesn’t have to be exact…just what you’ve seen/heard in these communities where you’re showing homes.
Yes, Amanda Walker is correct, I am standing on the Towns County beach, located across from the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. It is truly so beautiful over in Hiawassee and Lake Chatuge!!
Im being stalked and a homeowner here in Michigan, i was ready to just pack up and become homeless..my family in Georgia told me to move to northern Georgia so I'm selling and will be looking soon. I was told about these towns.
@@higherelevationsrealestate My stalker lives behind me, about 20 steps! So my backyard looks like a prison. He has two felony charges right now and getting out next week. If he gets another charge I can clean up the yard and sell for more 😆
Might have been a good video if you could have heard you. And I made sure I had it turned up. I also ask other people if they had a problem hearing you and they said they did.
I'm sorry you had difficulty hearing me. I just rewatched and didn't notice anything, but this was one of my first videos and I'm still learning lots. :) Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to make sure I use a microphone in future videos to make it easier to hear me.
Yes there are. Do you know which part of North GA you’d like to be in? Jasper, Blue Ridge, Hiawassee? I can do some more research and get back to you about availability. You can email me at trodsells@gmail.com or call me at 678-859-6058 to give me some more specifics to help you.
@@higherelevationsrealestate I love Hiawassee, it is close to Murphy, NC. (casino) I really loved Blue Ridge when we took a short trip there last fall. We stayed in a cabin at Mineral Bluff. If you are trying to go to Dahlonega, Dawsonville or Gainesville areas, you will have to drive through blood mountain OR you would go down to Ellijay and go a different way to avoid blood mountain. If you are going to Canton, Woodstock, Kennesaw or other Atlanta areas, no windy mountain roads, just Hwy 515 to Interstate 575 to Interstate 75.

@@higherelevationsrealestate best short term rental locations in Georgia for an investor?
Probably Blue Ridge & Ellijay, as their tourist attraction is heavier.
@@higherelevationsrealestate Would you know if Murphy NC is heavier on the tourist attraction like Ellijay and Blue Ridge?
Murphy, NC does not have a large tourist attraction. You do have some short term rentals there, but not a large pull for tourists.

Looking to move out of Florida next year. Can you tell me a bit about watkinsville or your feelings about good hope and bogart Georgia. Thanks much
Watkinsville and Bogart are more east of Atlanta, and outside of my handling area. I'm sorry, I don't know anything about either area.
I gotta ask where are you standing at the beginning? Looks like a beautiful sandy beach on a mountain lake, would love to find out that location!
I could be wrong but I believe she is standing at the beach in Hiawassee Georgia across from their fairgrounds. Lake Chatuge Beach.

NC has first gold everything actually. That's a weird fact to not get right.
