    I don't know if Ellijay or Blue Ridge have good schools, but if they did, they're crushing it in terms of beautiful nature, rivers, waterfalls, relatively safe, super cute downtowns, etc. AND still quite affordable. The trick with Ellijay/Blue Ridge in real estate is to explore the area BETWEEN those two towns (Whitepath, Cherry Log, Aska, etc.). That area still gets a damn nice mountain home between 350K and 500K, and actually has both Ellijay and Blue Ridge within a 10 to 15 minute drive. Real under the radar zone for nice mountain homes proximate to two cool towns.

      The schools are not as highly ranked online but like you said, the areas are absolutely breathtaking and the sense of community is wonderful.

    Beautiful cities! I live in Fort Worth Texas with no plans of moving, but always like to see what other States have to offer.

    I grew up in north Georgia and am considering it again. However, the problem is that the schools are not nearly as good as metro Atlanta. I’ve checked out Dahlonega, Ellijay, Blue Ridge, Hiawassee…but none of them have the school quality that Kennesaw, Marietta, Alpharetta and Roswell have. But we love the mountains, nature and a slower pace of life. So for families, the schools are a big drawback.

      I have to agree with you. Woodstock does have highly rated schools. I've had some clients recently that have gone for the slower pace and moved North - they opted for private schools like Rabun Gap or some have opted to do a hybrid homeschool program where children attend a couple of days a week and then home schooled the other two days.

      Don't worry, more Indian families are moving to North Georgia to elevate the schools. This is what happened to Alpharetta and John's Creek schools to make them top schools.

      There are some great options such as Dawsonville, Dahlonega, Hoschton. If you want a little bit more rural but still modern conveniences we could check out Rabun as well. There are a ton of great options!

    $500K?! Ok, great if you have money like that, but most ppl dont. How about you do a video for a single person looking for a quiet place to live, in a house under $230 K. I'm looking to move anywhere in north GA, from Chicago, but having difficulty finding anything that isnt a falling apart shackor out in the middle of nowhere. Ppl who have $500K or a bit under, don't have difficulty finding a home.

      This video highlights small towns that have quite a few options to choose from that are under $500,000 as well. If you are looking for something under $230,000 you will be looking at a fixer upper, more rural area or condo. My issue with condos is that many times they are more affordable from a pricing perspective but then you need to take into account the monthly dues.

      there's a little gear icon in the lower right hand corner of every TH-cam video. It represents, Settings. click on that and you can change the speed the video plays at.

    Canton is on the cusp of urban sprawl, sadly. I fear that small-town vibe is fleeting for them.

    • @ashleylazarian
      @ashleylazarian  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Currently it is still holding strong. Holly Springs is right there with them. Two absolutely beautiful areas with a lot to offer. I appreciate where you're coming from - many areas are seeing substantial growth which can change the small town vibe

      @UncleJoeHikes 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ashleylazarian Perhaps "suburban sprawl" is a better term. Holly Springs has been there for a long time now. I'm in Sugar Hill. I really didn't think it would hit us so soon, I guess I was naive. I'll be looking another 20-30 miles north and try to outrun it.

    • @ashleylazarian

      @@UncleJoeHikes I don't think you were naive - i don't think anyone saw the pandemic and what that would do as far as migration patterns. I've had quite a few clients recently making the move to a little further north if youre looking to still have more land and space. I'm right by you in Suwanee! I still love the areas we live in, but I understand your perspective 100%
