It's pretty common to talk and play guitar. I'm a drummer and know that it's near impossible to talk and play the drums. There's a few that can sing and play, but it's seriously harder than most people understand

Quarentine or not...artists should do this more often. There are songs that they never gonna play live, and this is a great use of streaming platform.

@@IVIShillizIVI It's because of the 2014 incident, which fucked up his vocal chords, but i have to agree, as much as i love trivium, the vocals have become less "rough" live, which i understand, but its kinda sad. The album versions are amazing though, and live is still pretty good. It has improved since silence era, so it can only get better.
@@IVIShillizIVI Nope I stand by my statement. Matt before wouldn't have been able to hit the high notes on The Defiant, at least not consistently (live).
You could really tell he wasn't feeling good/straining too much when he first made the change in the Silence tour. He sounds a lot healthier live now. WTDMS sounds incredible with the new clean style and the old screams. Vocally, this is probably the best record since In Waves imo.
I agree about the new screaming technique that he uses live but it still sounds okay in a live setting, esp with Corey's backing vocals.

Maaan i really feel what you are saying. Im 25 yo, being in love with Trivium for a while now. Also a big fan of old school Heavy metal like Metallica and Maiden and much more. Its good to read people like you man, my band mates who are a bit younger than you really "hate" all bands that came out in the early 2000's and i can't stand that stupid elitism. Always sucking the asses of the older bands, they are legendary of course, but Matt with Trivium and more are the proof that theres fucking good bands nowdays, even my guitar player really throws shit at them, you can dislike them but c'mon they are talented. Being a close minded person in music really sucks, and hear a guy of your age really liking them gives me faith haha! Cheers dude!

Not gonna lie Matt, I kinda drifted from trivium after in waves. “Which isn’t a bad album by any means”. But with this album and “The Sin and the Sentence”, I feel there’s a rebirth of energy in the band. Thank you for keeping me sane with these amazing songs. Seriously this music does wonders.

Best band in the world, been seeing trivium live every uk tour since 2005, still listen to all the albums regularly and listen do trivium every day, I didn't even like metal until I heard ascendancy...and still to this day , I find no other metal band like trivium.
And as for CDs, yeah I still buy triviums, and few others , doesn't feel like im buying an album if i just buy the digital version ...plus I cant get it signed at concerts if its digital

Correct. He's said so before, coming off Ascendancy Trivium were huge in the UK. The Crusade totally flipped that and they became one of the most hated and reviled bands in a very short time. I was a fan at the time actually and I remember that huge twist in peoples perception, not just in the UK but world wide. I'm in New Zealand and it was even the case here for a while. Almost overnight Trivium went from this promising incredible band into a band it was trendy to hate. This narrative would begin to dissolve with Shogun but it would be years before they'd actually manage to shake that image.

@@Xevonarin I kind of remember a lot of people talking shit about them when they were opening for Slipknot on the All Hope Is Gone Tour. Like, in person, people were talking shit about them after the show. I remember hearing people saying they felt that tour under sold because of the openers. They played Madison Square Garden in NYC and only filled about half, at best 2/3 of the arena. I kind of blame the recession mostly, since it was just a few months into it, which definitely hurt sales, but I digress.

IMO this guy just has the best Trivium covers. The sound, the voice. He is so insanely accurate, at high pitch singing you may notice it a bit but come on.
