This has to be the drummer with the cleanest and tightest drum fills. He went to Trivium and they became a complete band.
They were a complete band before... Alex is great but Travis was a great drummer for them too.

Also Alex uses a lot of accented notes on the ride and the snare when he's playing that blast beat also, he's playing seisillos (idk how to say that in English) in the bass drum to alternate the pattern preventing it to became repetitive. I hope I was any help explaining this tricky shizz. UwU
Edit: I heard that again and realized he's playing two types of blast beats with different kinds of patterns in the bass drum and alternates them with two different drum fills... This man is a God.

The difference is night & day in the technicality of writing between the 'before Alex' era and now. Matt, Paolo & Corey have always been elite players but having a drummer on their level has made the band ferocious.

Am i the only one hearing "Ascendancy" and "Shogun" on this album so far? this album is going to be one of their best ones. i was missing vocals and drums like this since "Shogun". Matt is singing better than ever and alex bent is the best drummer they ever had, period.

I think it started out like old school trivium then shifted back into the sin and the sentence trivium. Don't get me wrong there still are some old school feels but overall it doesn't feel like shogun or ascendancy. Also, yes Alex is an amazing drummer.

To me this was their best album by a long shot. Its got everything they're doing with the cleans and everything they used to do with screams. Instrumentally its unreal. This song is so damn good.

As an aspiring drummer, I really hope Alex stays as their permanent drummer. I was blown away when he was introduced on Sin and the Sentence, and now I'm speechless.

Matt's vocal has gotten better by the years. Guitar n bass tone n their riffs just gets tighter n darker as they age. The drums are heavy asf. This is Trivium.

I've been saying it for years but they've finally managed to bridge the gap from metalcore to progressive death metal. I've always lumped them with Arch Enemy, Dethklok, Lamb of God anyways but Alex Bent was the final piece to the puzzle.
