It's not the full version of IX cause the track list says it's like 2 minutes but yeah on Spotify it starts mid riff so it sounds weird but it sounds sick on video.
I've been saying it for years but they've finally managed to bridge the gap from metalcore to progressive death metal. I've always lumped them with Arch Enemy, Dethklok, Lamb of God anyways but Alex Bent was the final piece to the puzzle.

This took me by surprise! Was not expecting a new song to drop today. And this is a damn good song.
At 4:58 it sounded so much to me like Shadow of Intent and i loved it. Trivium is just getting better at every new music. TSTS was fire but at this pace this album will be even better.
Dude you're so freaking right, instantly reminded me of Reclaimer!
Shadow of intent is such a sick band
It does sound like shadow of intent haha. They're such an awesome band too
@@thelazywanderer_jt indeed, I love trivium but I also love shadow of intent and that's why I love the way trivium is going now. Absolutely genius 🤘🏼
I feel this album has the potential to be the best album they’ve made so far. I’m so hyped for April 24
I don't think so, but we'll see. I feel it will be a strong one though
@@outsider4231 maybe not their best but definitely the top contender for album of the year. We'll see 🤘
its not better than shogun but i have to say its probably their second best
right now,how do you feel?
Nah... for an album, 3rd best arguably the highest this album could climb up the ladder... still Ascendancy & Shogun up there...
To me this was their best album by a long shot. Its got everything they're doing with the cleans and everything they used to do with screams. Instrumentally its unreal. This song is so damn good.
Alex is by far the best drummer Trivium has seen and this is coming from a Travis fanboy.
Travis > all
1. Alex
2. Travis
3. Every drummer of Trivium
I concur. Also a Travis-fan
I do miss Travis he was a great drummer but yeah Alex is killing it! I’m so hyped for this album
@@cristiannicolas5914 It's ok, I'm wrong sometimes too. Happens to the best of us
Love how they used the riff from the song Matt wrote for Shroud
Came here hoping I wasn't alone in noticing that riff. Lol.
Shroud tribute song was really cool. But that riff.. that riff is just too good to be just in a tribute theme. I felt a bit confused at the begining, but now I'm glad they reused it on their new album.
Hearing Alex, i imagine him held captive as a prisoner of war and the rival General telling him "Play for your freedom, boy"
This song is a pure masterpiece.I cant stop myself listening this a few times a day.I dont understand why it is not a hit song with a lot more views.
What The Dead Men Say: "Honey, it's just a slight cough. I'll be fine."

True, true. I’d give you a “like”, but you already have 420 of them.
imagine 20 years from now, the population is down to a fraction what is was. the internet and power come back. people are browsing the internet looking through media from the world that was and find this comment. either that or we all come back to this vid and were like "lol"
Statistically probable.
:)
My GOD this is good.. I mean real good. Top tier Trivium 🙌
Alex Bent beating those drums like they owe him money 😂💪🤟
As someone who has stopped listening to metal a while ago, Trivium was a good band to come back into the genre with. Love this song and I'm gonna dig into the full album in a bit.
So..., how much do you dig the album?
@@lethinhphong Havent listened to Trivium since 2012.
Would give this one 8/10, one of their best.
Me: What the dead man say?
Dead man: I ate before Matt...
Sorry, I had to
Take your like and go away!
narto12ful hahahahhahaha
WHAT NOBODY DOES THAT! NOBODY EATS BEFORE MATT
narto12ful lMAO
Lmao
me : "I know the new Trivium album will be freaking addictive!"
then this part hit me 3:13
That slower riff just hits so right. Dayum.
The drums in that breakdown tho
@@kyleg-rover7707 Machine guns, drummer went full auto
Played this for my toddler daughter. She just oiled her beard and now she's forging a battleaxe.
Robb Dreblow possibly the most metal thing I’ve ever read.
Not gonna lie...the flash image while reading that was mildly disturbing...lmfao
Chris E. Lol so true hate people who steal comments like that. How bland can they be?
FR when my daughter was 3 she loved metal mostly brave this storm would beg to listen to it and was head banging and everything. She called it scary music ahh man good times
Old joke
Directly in the middle of Covid. I remember watching and paying for the live stream at Full Sail with no audience and being so appreciative of a band doing SOMETHING to make the world seem normal again despite what was happening. I have seen you guys live 4 times now and I can't wait to see you guys again soon.
Start to finish, this is gold. Trivium delivers again.
Glad "Shroud Of Chaos" riffs made it to the record great job guys ubsolutely loving it!!!!
Alekos Athinaios yeeeee
2020 : Covid - 19 ❌❌
2020 : LoG & Trivium new song ✅✅
1 sexy Sepultura to go too
not the same LoG anymore tho', Trivium keeps rocking hard !!
What about new As I Lay Dying a d August Burns Red songs
@@yelonasable What about them?🤣🤣
Megadeth is next.
Why is this song not huge??
I like how they used the ending of "IX" for the beginning of the video. It transitions perfectly. 1:07 is the actual beginning of song I believe. This song is amazing. Can't wait for this album to drop. C'mon April 24th!
The first riff up until 1:04 is used from that song he made for Shroud
Skinny P I really wish they kept it all under one song. The Spotify version released without it and its just not the same as this badass music video.
really? that's kinda unfortunate it's two songs because this intro slaps with it
Fucking geniuses
It's not the full version of IX cause the track list says it's like 2 minutes but yeah on Spotify it starts mid riff so it sounds weird but it sounds sick on video.
Shroud's theme has received a new life, love it!
The song left me dead, and I say: "I LOVE THIS, TRIVIUM."
PTR Koulou That is what the dead men say, after all. See what i did there
Are you a dead man saying?
@@connorthedjenty188 exactly the point of my comment pal 👉👉
I luv how Alex adapts to any situation and any type and is open to variations and changes and the musicality is just awesoms
This is so original. Trivium is still getting better. Love this band..
Sounding more and more like prog with each release this time.
I LOVE THIS DIRECTION 🔥
Prog hahhahahahah, this sh*t prog
I’m not sure you know what prog is.
I've been saying it for years but they've finally managed to bridge the gap from metalcore to progressive death metal. I've always lumped them with Arch Enemy, Dethklok, Lamb of God anyways but Alex Bent was the final piece to the puzzle.
"I'm so prog, i listen to concept Albums on SHUFFLE" -Kmac 2019
Trivium saving our quarantine!!! Hell yeah 🤘🔥🤘
My Top 3 fave albuns:
01. Shogun
02. What the Dead Man Say
03. The Sin And the Sentence
And ascendancy and the crusade
Depends on what you like. For heavier stuff Ember to Inferno, In Waves, Ascendancy are great.
For me: this is based off my overall like of the album, not a few songs here and there.
1.) The crusade
2.) Shogun
3.) Silence in the snow
4.) Sin in the Sentence
5.) Ascendancy
Id say its
1) shogun
2) ascendancy
3) sin and the sentence or In waves
@@etunimi3114 I like heavy stuff With very creative melodies
Hell yeah! New Trivium!
Me: chilling at a trivium show
Matt at 1:14 : *GO!*
Me: gets crowdkilled
Alex like the bell ring 🤣
and the pick scapes after that, this was built with that in mind
Crowdkilling is gay
@@tad3937 that may be true but i still love moshing
2:14
"what the dead man say?"
"YOU KILL A COW!"
😂😂
let me ascend with you
Thank you now I can’t hear anything else
Yes
So we're having steaks for dinner? 😋
Trivium freaking never gets old!! Matt’s voice sounds so awesome!!!! 🤘
Phenomenal. Can´t wait for the rest of the record!!!!
This sounds so badass. I love that whole melody that’s in this song and the beginning of IX which I can’t wait to also hear
That breakdown riff in the middle feels like something Chuck from Death would write! Killer songs!
Same with the last song they put out a bit towards the end of it
That and for me the beginning sounds like something from symbolic
How is it even physically possible to drum that fast!!?? 😳
You can tell Alex is having the time of his life right now
I’m gonna guess the first minute and a half is the track “IX” before “What the dead men say”.
No there is an acoustic of the first riff
Yep
After listening to the song on Spotify it seems to be the case at least I think so anyway
I hope so otherwise im missing out and i dont want that personally
Paolo has confirmed it's part but not all of IX
I hope Alex Bent never leaves, he's amazing!!
This song is amazing, cant wait for the album! 🤘
This has got to be one of the greatest songs i've ever heard, holy shit
The breakdown on this is straight up nasty. Trivium is on a different level from everyone else right now.
@Chris E. agreed. For example, the new sylosis album sheds the shit out of this
@@benburleigh4787 Fuck yea Sylosis
Also the new HSB album is FIRE
Forgot you have to be an elitist to love only good metal. But it's only good metal if you like it? Metal is METAL. Just enjoy it.
@Chris E. Metal is awesome but the fans honestly suck sometimes. Especially the elitist ones that feel the need to shit on bands.
@Chris E. Calm down there Mr. Bigshot
Your comment screams 2008
Trivium havent even reached there full potential yet .
Long live Trivium .
The songwriting of this band never ceases to impress me. They keep finding ways to sound different, but at the top of their game. So many killer riffs in here!!
The intro to this song is amazing.
