Yeah, it is really cool when players use their actual signature models. Some guys say that they don't want their name on the guitar if it isn't good enough to take off of the shelf and use. In the past, I have often wondered if brands like Gibson will make guitars for these guys and then put an Epiphone headstock and/or logo on it.... Just so that kids buy is... That thought has gone through my mind many, many times. However, the new Epiphones are much, much better than they were in the past. I have had several since I started playing in 92 or 93...I loved some and absolutely hated others. But the newer ones are much better. The last one I truly hated was made in either 2008 or 2009....

I was lucky enough to meet someone working security at a Trivium show and party with them. They snuck me in on Trivium's guest list and gave me tickets at the "Will Call." Honestly, I was there to see Children of Bodom. Aman Amarth opened up, and Trivium supported. All three bands put on a hell of a show. And it was at the Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana, CA. Small place, great atmosphere!

Matt is awesome! Great front man, great guitar player, great ambassador for the metal genre! Challenging riffs, but a ton of fun to play! These guys sound just as good or better live as they do on record! Love Trivium!🤘🏼🤘🏼

In "Into the Mouth of Hell we March" you can see him even muting the 7th string with the thump of his fretting hand during the verse. That shows his dedication to make everything as perfect as possible. A lot of other players, including myself would probably not even have bothered doing that and just muted it with the picking hand.

Incredible. Those verse riffs on court are some of my all time matt riffs. It sounds insane in the record. Also incineration to me is one of the most underrated trivium songs. That album got a lot of hate but I still get pumped listening to it.

I’ve been a fan of Trivium since high school and though I got into them when Shogun came out and partnerships were different at the time, the video for Gunshot was my introduction to them and Matt with a Les Paul was the ONLY look that was acceptable/fitting for him in my eyes. I was the only one of my peers who liked The Crusade and fell in love with Shogun when I finally made my way to it. Trivium got lost in the mix for the better part of the past 5ish years simply because I had gotten into so many bands that most albums were only getting a couple spins a year each - I obviously checked out all the recent Trivium albums out when they came out but like I said they got lost in the mix due to how much music I was listening to. I’ve recently “rediscovered” my love of Trivium and have been binging the discography almost endlessly the past several weeks and am so stoked to see them in CT next week (bummed there was no VIP package for Trivium but I got LoG so im still happy). I’m beyond happy to see Matt back with Gibson/Epiphone and the newest rendition of his LP is incredible looking and definitely my favorite of his releases. Well deserved Matt, I’m incredibly happy for you. Side note, though I stand by my previous statement of the LP being the only guitar suitable for Matt, I will always dig the 7-string Explorer. That thing was also a thing of beauty. (Sorry for the long winded comment. 😅)
