    I lived in Lacey from 1986 to 1992. I loved it out there! We bought a house in Eagle Crest subdivision off of Meridian Rd in December 1987. My (ex) husband and I were only 23 and 22 yrs old when we bought our house at 4006 Indian Summer Dr SE- it was brand spankin' new at the time and we were the first owners! We paid $79,900 at the time for it! There were only about 10 homes built so far on the street. We had a gorgeous view of Mt. Rainier out of the second story 2 front bedroom windows. I just loved that view and STILL miss it! The rest of that area was initially fields but we watched that whole plan be built over the next 4 yrs before we moved away! I haven't been in the state of WA since but would love to get back there some day. I live in PA now- where I was born and raised. I'm a RN and I worked at Capital Medical Center in Olympia and prior to that, Mason General in Shelton. My ex was AD Army stationed at Ft. Lewis. It's so weird to hear Lewis and McChord be called JBLM now.....
    We have always been so proud of buying a brand new house at such a young age! I remember finding out in Feb. after we moved in that I was pregnant with our first daughter. She will now be 36 in October. This all brings back such beautiful memories....❤🗻

      That's amazing! Thanks for sharing. Sorry we are just seeing this now, our notifications got turned off. You should be proud of yourself for buying at a young age! Hopefully, you can come back to the area some day!

    Informative video. Have you ever featured downtown Lacey?

    • @thurstonrider
      @thurstonrider 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Lacey does not have a downtown. There is North Lacey, and South Lacey. The northern part of South Lacey (Lacey proper) has the Lacey Town Center between the Chehalis Western Trail and College St. That is the main business district/neighborhood in Lacey. Everything else is just suburban single- family sprawl.

      @@thurstonriderthank you for the information. Are all the good restaurants and coffee shops in Olympia?

      @erome1488 I personally haven't ventured into Downtown Oly too often since the pandemic. Last time I knew there was Burial Grounds Coffee, Batdorf & Bronson, and a couple other places I haven't tried. There are also a few awseone coffee shops around in and around Lacey as well. Olympic coffee roasters on Pacific (accross from Fred Meyers), Coffee Elite on Marvin Rd., and Cutters Point coffee on Pacific near Post Office, and one accross from Costco on Marvin.
