"What did we do to deserve this?" ...indeed. This is truly magical.

Chris Thile is one of the most musically expressive people to ever pluck a string. His performances of JS Bach's violin partitas are some of my favorite Bach recordings.

Dear Charlie - I am so glad that you take the time and effort to highlight this extraordinary musician and the beauty that comes out of him. This is what we need in the world - especially now. There are already many "pseudo-critics" bashing his works with ignorant cruelty, using Jacob's popularity as a motive for gathering views and monetary gains. It is useless to attack these types of individuals - for this only gives them more attention. Better to do as you are giving the example - to High-Light the goodness that is offered. We draw ourselves to that upon which we place our focus and attention - and we pull into the fabric of humanity either hellfire or heaven. I am enjoying your choice - Thank you!!!

This is an absolute expression of joy. I've been a fan of Chris for several decades, I was introduced to Madison through Chris about 6 years ago, and Jacob about 3 years ago. Together it exceeds my expectations from each.

Pure tears, Like I said before, I cant with this song. It drills into my soul, and this rendition made me openly weep. I love how the end felt like passing of time with the tick tock cadence. I second your statement, exquisitely executed

This popped up right as I sat down to have breakfast and I didn't expect the emotional response I had to hearing this heavenly piece in this acoustic setting.
First, the lyrics "Kiss me to my core, paralyzing...Hold me where I'm sore, never minding"...Jeeeesh...
Next, the second half of that verse, playing the Augmented 5th over the root made me feel like I was about to take flight.
Lastly, it sounds to me that they are staying on the One longer in the Chorus than in the original recording. Is that right?
You're right, exquisite! Jacob's mind for music is special!
The emotion behind the lyrics is so deeply heartbreaking, and something we've all been through, but the song still sounds sooooooo romantic, and like a hug...like you said.
    Great stuff, Charlie!

Felt the same - its the acoustics of a cavernous cathedral combined with vocals, playing - it's exquisite is the only description. And she holds it back too - controlling her voice - so that its all 'feel'. I'm 66 this year, worked in a record shop for 20 years in Central London - and this is stunning

What did we do to deserve this? It’s a beautiful tug of war with a glorious melody and gut wrenching lyrics pulling you back and forth. I am in awe of the arrangement. It’s so exposed and intimate in the lovely acoustics at the Mahogany. C’mon Jacob help us out it’s too much so good. Are there more recordings at the Mahogany? I sure do hope so. Thank you, amazing review as always!!

I recommend you check out some beatboxing. They are simultaneously very technically skilled, but also really amazing at vocals. Considering checking out My Way by River for a soloist or Fuego by Jairo for a tag team. They're equally insane!

JESUS CHRIST died for us on a cross for our sins. 3 days after his death he resurrected and was, is, and will be The LIVING GOD. Repent from your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior in a prayer and also ask for the HOLY SPIRIT to come into you in that same prayer as well. You could come to Jesus Christ as you are, but once you accept Him, you have to become new, change, and be born again, and also turn away from your wicked ways. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. God Bless You. The Bible is the true word of God. Please read the Bible and you will see Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Praise only be to GOD. JESUS CHRIST IS COMING SOON FOR HIS CHURCH.
