    Thank you for this! I have had some people express interest in purchasing my art, or in having me sell art/prints via their organizations and I just get overwhelmed and chicken out once I start looking at legal issues with it haha! Gotta break it down into bite size chunks

    In the beginning you said we can and should just focus on your art if its not that big yet, does that mean we dont have to worry about these licenses and permits if are sales are low? are we still legally able to sell to folks nation wide online in that case? thanks

      Try it out first on Etsy or Shopify and see how you like it. It will depend on your local state rules re: taxes and proper permits. Best of luck!

    Great information! I live in Oregon so it does make no sales tax easy for local sales. I am wondering how sales tax/ taxable earnings works for online sales and if I travel out of state for a show? Thanks in advance for your input :-)

    are these tips just for people with LLCs? What about sole proprietors? Would we also need to have licenses and EINs? I was under the impression from watching other videos that all a sole proprietor needed was a DBA

    This is very helpful! Do you have any tips on filing taxes for selling our products? I'm pretty confused about sales and use taxes 😅

    • @EasySundayClub
      @EasySundayClub  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the worst, lol. Find a good accountant would be my tip. Don't try to do business taxes by yourself. They will suggest ways to save on taxes and make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

    Do you need a DBA if you already have an LLC?

    I just set up my Etsy shop but in order for it to go live I have to enter my business registration number ...what is that? Where do I find that? I already entered my EIN number but business registration number is supposed to be something different. Please help!

      I would go to etsy’s customer service. This sounds very odd.

    I don’t even know if anyone would buy my art yet. Do I have to register before I even “test the waters”?
    It would be a shame to go through all this to have nobody like my art enough to buy anything.

      yes you can always start an a sole proprietor first.

    Nice video! I have an Etsy shop and want to become a sole proprietor...for the fictitious business name does it have to be the name of my Etsy shop🤔

    Business License and DBA... arnt they the same thing? or is DBA more so just for operating as another name?

    • @EasySundayClub
      @EasySundayClub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Biz license is license to operate biz. Dba is like what you said correct!

    • @EasySundayClub

      Some of these licenses will apply no matter what entity you are. Please check with your county / city on the requirements

    Thank you for the video! I am trying to sell my art online, possible in my own online shop out of my house or at conventions in Virginia or Maryland. So I would need to apply for a dba, general business license, federal tax/state Id in that order? Even if it’s from home or at a convention? Would there be any more permits I need to get? Is there a site you would recommend that helps new small businesses and walks them through the forms/process? Type of lawyer/site/accountant recommended for contact? Thank you!

    • @EasySundayClub
      @EasySundayClub  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don’t need a dba unless you want a public business name that’s different from your legal business name. SBA has great resources on how to legally launch a business: www.sba.gov/business-guide.

    A sales tax permit in Colorado will cost you. $16 to apply for a Colorado sales tax license and also a $50 deposit. The deposit you be refunded as soon as you collect a total of $50 in sales tax. Just wanted to put that out there. 😉

    Bro what makes me annoyed is if you sell on eBay or Amazon they charge sales tax on your item and charge you seller fees. So you gotta pay taxes on top of that?
    What path would you recommend. I’m selling a hair dryer attachment online on eBay and Amazon in CA.

    • @EasySundayClub
      @EasySundayClub  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you have to check with an accountant to be sure but you don't have to pay sales tax again. You will have to pay tax on the income you make from the sale if you make a lot from ebay but you may be able to write off the seller fees.
