I just took the engine completely apart. Cylinder 1 had two stuck rings causing it to smoke badly. Otherwise the inside of the engine is in very good condition. Cam regind gasket set and rings is all it needs. Should be running again in a few weeks
Thanks, it does run great, but it was smoking a bit much so we pulled the engine for a rebuild and improvements. Oil is getting past the valve guides on the first port. Gotta figure that out
I did. I was going to put 4 motorcycle carburetors on it but then the exhaust design got too complicated. Then I thought that design up. Those carburetors are cheap on eBay
Yes. Probably 34” long. About to take that thing apart and rebuild it. I’ll have the cam reground to a performance specification. Thanks for your comment, stay tuned

It sounds like the flywheel weighs about 80lbs.
Probably, I think the engine weighs 800 pounds 😀

They put big cams in those engines. They're like twice as long as the average cam.
