    The float needle has a replacable rubber tip.CHEERS FROM HERE!

      I have the same motor, it's the 8hp version but they have the same carburetors. Just did a cleaning on mine today. If you YT search "9.9HP Mercury Outboard Carburetor Cleaning/rebuild" it shows the whole process. Was a lot easier than I expected it to be. Cheers and good luck!

    Will you do mine next lol kidding thanks for the video my 9.9 will start and run but as soon as you throttle down hard it dies but starts right back up im pulling my hair out here lol

      Could very well be something similar. Junk or sludge sitting in the bottom of the float bowl might have gotten sucked up into a jet or orifice. Once again, these carbs are pretty easy to work on. Whip it apart, clean it all out, get it back on and see how it goes. Thanks for watching.

    If you're going to do a video on repairing a motor or anything else for that matter, know the name of the parts, not this guy and that guy.....terrible video.
