I've got a buddy that constantly tackles lost causes like that. Everyone turns out fantastic but in the end, not much of the original car remains and he refuses to count his labor in the cost. I'd venture to guess that finding one cleaner to start with will almost always end up cheaper when its all done. Especially if you find one that someone got half way done with and ran out of money. Even the 'good' parts on a car like that likely won't be all that good. It looks like its been through a few floods and a sat out in the sun for decades. What really sucks is that its about average for a car like that in my area.
I was going to write that as long as you have the vin# pretty much every body part they stamp out. I learn that with a tri-five 1957 Chevy convertible I thought was a rusted out piece of shit two year's later it was a show car. It cost a whole lotta $$ and hour's.
She's gone but can still be used for some parts. I've restored some pretty far gone classics but once you have rust like that around body supports, the car won't survive getting towed out.
Strip every piece of trim off of her. Cut the front end out around the engine/tranny and snatch them out. Take the rear end too. Take the seat frames if they are still solid. Take any gauges left as well Leave the rest .
Have you ever watched "Chrisitine"? If Chrisitine was in this condition, and you were inclined to restore it, you'll just end up with a contraption made of mostly new parts, and the resulting car wouldn't be hunted at all because the mayority of the original hunted car would be disposed and sold for scrap.
There are so many parts companies out there, the question is not is it save able, the question is... how much do you love this car and what do you do with your free time??? Understand? All car's can be brought back. Takes dedication and the will to bring her back!!!
Take the engine and the VIN tags and scrap the rest. Then call Year One and get every part you need to rebuild the car. If you have the VIN tag, what you end up with is a ground up restoration with matching numbers worth $45-60,000. You can do the same without the VIN tag and get the same result but it is a replica worth $25,000.
BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER. Almost anything is fixable. Get as much documentation as you can on it, catalog its life, take pictures, and go from there. She can as yard art, be parted out, or slowly be worked on. Tough choice for these old girls. Would have been nice to see her in her hayday.
I want to say save it please, but is it even possible or will it require building an entire new car. If even the frame is gone what will remain of original body? I also love freebird. and Chevelle's.
If the frame is rotted through, then the car is through. But you have got to save the drivetrain at least. And anything else you can. I hate saying that about cars that year. I was born in '67.
I’ve found some heartbreakers like that and I’ve saved some real pos’s but this ain’t worth the trouble unless it was really sentimental.problem is,if the frames gone,it’ll fall apart getting it home
It can be done, its alot of work, arent many of them left, how much time do you have? And how much love do you have for this "ol' girl" to put 'er back on the road where she belongs ? GET OUT YOUR TOOLS AND WELDER !!!!
I've seen worse get restored, you can buy another frame or you can put it on a gasser chassis even, floors, trunk and firewall aren't that hard to replace on a full frame car, just buy the metal from AMD or something and take it to a spot welder, or you can find a clean body and frame and use this for parts, its better to fix it though, than there is 1 more on the road
This curve probably needs a total frame of restoration. And probably the frame needs to be replaced too. So I would say no to the restoration it just wouldn't be worth it😅
Move on son. She's a goner
Channel recommendation: Speed Bump Garage.
Whatever you think your time is worth!

Only for good parts
Said the Ford guy 👦
Anything is salvageable if you have enough $$.
At some point, it would become a reproduction
And a donor car.
but at what point are you building a car instead of restoring one you need to ask
@taylorebenguard6998 is there a difference at this point really? Lol
I was going to write that as long as you have the vin# pretty much every body part they stamp out.

If nothing else, please grab that 327 !!!
She’s done son, find another one
Bumpers, grill, glass exc... is all it's good for
No car is unsavable its just a matter of how much work and money you can spend
😂😂😂
it wouldn't be the same car. Ship of Theseus
R.I.P.
Its finished, ive never seen a metal dash rusted like that before
I wouldn't put no money in it if I was rich and I love a old chevelle
Its toast unless you want to put 10s of thousands into it. The engine could maybe be saved.
Playing Free Bird for a Chevelle. Bro a legend.
Sad as heck
She's gone but can still be used for some parts.
I've restored some pretty far gone classics but once you have rust like that around body supports, the car won't survive getting towed out.
Good parts car for collectable car owners
Yes it can be saved! It just needs a lot of money.
you would be building a car instead of restoring at that point
SAVE HER!
Im in alabama 20min from Tennessee line and say for the right price its a keeper
A litte paint and she's golden
It depends more on the bank account not the car.
My son would love to fix it!
that’s funny
Strip every piece of trim off of her.
Cut the front end out around the engine/tranny and snatch them out.
Take the rear end too.
Take the seat frames if they are still solid. Take any gauges left as well
Leave the rest .
Sure it is. Have one here I saved not as bad as that one. She's looks like new now. With all the bells and Whistles and a big motor under the hood. 😮
A rotten frame has sentenced this old girl to wasting away and returning to earth. It's genuinely just a donor.
Cut chop rebuild a little love towards that car will work always savable
Use that fiber reinforced bondo and the metal duct tape.
I admire the confidence of folks who feel it could be salvaged, but sadly, this one is toast.
THIS IS BEYOND SAVING !!!
Have you ever watched "Chrisitine"? Yes, I had one looks just like mine but without rust
Not a BBC, Not a 4-Gear and definitely not a SS.
R-I-P. Let it rust in pieces.
There are so many parts companies out there, the question is not is it save able, the question is... how much do you love this car and what do you do with your free time??? Understand? All car's can be brought back. Takes dedication and the will to bring her back!!!
Great tune bro
Nope. Sad but true.😢
Depends on three things. How much money you have, how skilled you are, and how much time you have. Good luck!

Absolutely. Labor of love.
One of my favorite Chevelles.
The song that should have been playing was Aerosmith Dream On
Haha ok that was actually pretty funny 😂
If you're a fabricator it's a good 5-year job otherwise I just pulled the motor and tranny maybe the rear end

I grew up with a bunch of ole boys who would love to try to save her.
I think it's worth saving
Jonathon Taylor here. Go for it
It would cost you more money than it is worth get the parts that still good it too far gone to be restored 😮
It's just a parts car now - and not many at that. In its day it was one nice butternut yellow/black sport coupe.
I want to say save it please, but is it even possible or will it require building an entire new car.
If even the frame is gone what will remain of original body? I also love freebird. and Chevelle's.
Call Jensen and Jared...they'll give her a good home.
If the frame is rotted through, then the car is through. But you have got to save the drivetrain at least. And anything else you can. I hate saying that about cars that year. I was born in '67.
If it was a rare model and you had DEEP pockets... maybe....
Grille and bumper look good.
Parts only or save the frame
Mother Nature reclaims her own
She did her duty, let her lie...rest in peace..
Enough money enough time and a perfect donor car and you can do anything
Anything can be saved. Wouldn't be much of the original car left though.
Thats nothing compared to what was my grandpa's hot rod was before he built it😂
And she still sits there today !
Looks more like a 66 and 67
With those back windows
What a shame. I wish cars weren’t left to sit outside like that, but they were worthless at a time, so.
Radio knobs looked okay that's about it
Nature has began to reclaim this car noway
Yes, Kinda use some of the parts you can save and order the others. You can buy everything for that car so all you need money.
Cant even melt the steel down at that point
It can be salvaged. If you want to put 3x as much money into it as it will ever be worth.
Enough money and time , they are all salvageable.
As a unit no, as a donor that’s iffy! It’s all about what the person looking at the car is willing to pay!
Sad thing is when it was parked probably wouldn't of taken too much to get it going.
Good luck matey!
Hell yeah she will be come live again 👍🏽
The reason they found it Al and TN border cause it wouldn't make it to TN and wouldn't make it out of Al get the 8track tape out of it, Good song
I’ve found some heartbreakers like that and I’ve saved some real pos’s but this ain’t worth the trouble unless it was really sentimental.problem is,if the frames gone,it’ll fall apart getting it home
It belongs to mother earth now
Nowadays all you need is a good frame and you can buy a complete body and motor and trans combination to go fast😎💨💨😎🏁🏁
No frame, no car
She's had a good run,too far gone to bother.
Anything is saleable but it's going to cost a lot to fix
There's nothing there. At least you got a video.
If it was an SS car.... Maybe but all you're gonna save is the Vin
It can be done, its alot of work, arent many of them left, how much time do you have? And how much love do you have for this "ol' girl" to put 'er back on the road where she belongs ? GET OUT YOUR TOOLS AND WELDER !!!!
Some of the glass and headlight bezels. That’s about it.

I believe in someone else restore it then I buy it 😂
THAT'S A PARTS CAR,BARELY,TIME AND WEATHER TOOK IT FOR A RIDE
It looks original I'll get it and bring it back to life 😊
If you have 2 or 3 of them than you can build one with matching numbers😊😊😊😊😊
Should have been restored 30 years ago.
By the time u replace/repair the damaged parts...it will be more replacement parts than the original car.....
No way is there anything that's worth saving...😢
R.I.P
rust in piece
It'll take about 2 tons of form-a-fender!
Grab the motor...that's all folks.
Put a running motor and transmission drive it like that
No way it's a waste of time to bring that back
All things are possible, but there has to be better starters than that poor thing.
This curve probably needs a total frame of restoration. And probably the frame needs to be replaced too. So I would say no to the restoration it just wouldn't be worth it😅
It's served its purpose. D.O.A. Yank the engine and call it a day
Depends on the price.
No way..cost a fortune to "fix" that rustbucket..keep looking ...
Not if you are going to hang on to before and after photos, no matter how much you salvage.
Better have real deep pockets full of dough!
Anything is save able it all depends on the amount of money you want to spend
