I like what you said: "When we are supposed to stop?" I love when a board game puts you in a -non scripted- situation, like this, and that gives food for thought in everyday life also. Just that is enough to make me put that one on my game list. Excellent video, as always !!!
Thanks for covering this one. As one of the playtesters, I found it particularly brutal, especially regarding weak maquis cards. At first glance, it appears that some changes have been made to strengthen their abilities, which is great to see and should certainly help.
Around the 4 minute mark you refer to the Recruit deck as the Hidden deck. While I am not a fan of playmats, this is the first game where I think I’d actually buy one.
They did send a file for a printable playmat in the campaign. I think I'm going to try and get it printed out soon. I agree this is one that really can benefit from one!
I got a second hand version of this game on eBay and I can’t wait for it to arrive. I just love the theme and I already love Maquis, so looking forward to playing another game with a similar theme, but different game play
I really like this game! Simple, enjoyable, quick crowdfunding turnaround, distills a central mechanism well, interesting gameplay, decent price. And I LOVE the art, especially on the resistance members. It really invokes a story for me. The only issues i had were - I wish that the playmat wasn't pnp, I had a couple of rules questions that weren't easy to find answers for, and I would have loved a couple of modules that could have given some variability.
does anyone know of, (or have an opinion themselves), about weather one should start with the scenario or play through a few games first? I feel like it would be easiest to immerse myself in a scenario before playing a random setup of a mission, especially since I know that the random missions will be using the same relatively small, deck of cards so if I play 'randomly' I will have run into a lot of cards that will be in the missions in the scenario book but in another context. Weirdly I have not been able to find any review that comments on this, or the scenario, I think, other than that it exists. I'd appreciate any imput, thanks.
I am a big fan of David Thompson but I have never liked playing for high scores, sadly it seems that the score is even more important here than in Valiant Defence... I just can't care about it, it is like with school, I wanted to pass but had zero interest in the specific mark.

Awesome - thanks as always, Dr. D! So happy you're digging Resist! :)

adolfo is supposed to have a 0 hidden attack value btw!
I was just looking at my version which I think is from a more recent printing and has the 0. Great catch.
Great review. Love your channel!

I was considering this game, but I REALLY like Maquis, and this seems a LOT like it. Which one do you like the best?
They are totally different, mechanically. Pick based on whether you want a card game or a worker placement game!
This looks amazing! Is it available anywhere?
Kickstarter copies are starting to arrive now, so I assume soon.

I just got this game, and it's super fun. It is DEFINITELY a table hog, especially for a smaller game. I managed to make it work. 😀
It’s bigger on the inside!
Love you contact liz
Wanted to love it but it just seems like a one time game, with same repitablity over and over
