  • If you’re driving a service bus or a scheduled coach service, make sure you’re displaying the correct route number and destination on the vehicle. This sign must be lit between sunset and sunrise. On a temporary bus service, a temporary sign should be displayed.

    I used to love going on the bus as a child. My nan used to get us day tickets and we spent an entire day bus hopping.
    Today it was just me and the driver on a bus and he told me how he got in to bus driving, later when we got to my stop it was still just me and him so I gave him a voucher for McDonald’s, £2.99 selected burger and fries.
    He beeped and waved at me as he drove off. It was nice.

    • @JudgementalHand
      @JudgementalHand 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I use one every day.
      The Ticketer machine does an awful lot.
      You log on, type in the busses running board for the day if you're the first using that bus for the day, and it will give a list of all the runs on that board, and you select the first one, which will be a dead run to your starting point.
      Once you do that, you end the trip, select the first in-service run, and then it will give you all of the ticket options, as you would expect.
      However, it also has GPS and can warn you about low bridges (I assume this has to be configured), it can print details in the event of an incident, such as a bump, crash, passenger fall, etc.
      Also, your traffic office can send messages to drivers using it.
      It's a really cool system, and really makes the ticket side of the job easy.

    You came through the parked cars on left pretty quick. Heard if there aren't cars on opposite side you got to slow you speed down 2mph or 3mph less down to 5mph if you safely can and be ready to slow down more and stop for opposite side when timing is right with oncoming traffic. If there are cars oncoming down in opposite lane then you got to give way by keeping least bus length far back distance behind vehicle parked in front of you and positioned front offside over 2 metres cross line horizontally not to be too close when pulling out from car in front of you and signalling you intentions to oncoming traffic behind you. Mainly slow down or stop if necessary for cars on opposite side to pass even includes when passed cars on you side then meeting oncoming cars between you and parked cars. Lot of bus drivers pick up bad habits, often sometimes far greater than other drivers. I doing my PCV bus test and haven't passed just yet until test day but l know the drill far more clearly than driving my own personal car.

    • @JudgementalHand
      @JudgementalHand 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ShadowzTheHuskya lot of companies wouldn't want their drivers putting out videos as the company has no control over whether it's a good/bad representation of the company.
      All public-facing jobs I've had are very strict on social media posts, especially filming.
      With that said, I don't care whether this individual got permission or not, I just hope they didn't put themselves at risk of reprecussion.

    • @ShadowzTheHusky
      @ShadowzTheHusky 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JudgementalHand Seems like a good representation of a company but seeing this video alone, Gave me the motivation to become a bus driver just last week, I wouldn't have done if this video didn't exist, Instead the transport industry just gained one more driver, All because a driver posted a video of him working, Company's should be more involved but most sadly wont bother, So I salute this driver for giving people hope.
