No he means the opposite. You can just take stage data from Frontiers and dump into Shadow. Because you can and thats what the modder did. @@Mr.WheeIer

it'd be sick if someone took this and basically added 4-2 onto the end. like instead of the goal ring it transitions to the starting tunnel from 4-2. Then it'd almost be like a full length shadow gens level
This looks amazing and I love how you integrated the interactive gimmicks of Shadow Gens like the spear switches and the puntable black arms soldier, it's so clever, amazing job
I'm so glad the backround has the effects back. The initial wip didn't have the traffic or moving squares, which made it feel a bit empty. Anyways, this looks really cool and makes me excited for the future of shadow generations mods
We need a megamix of all the cyberspace levels seperated into their themes Like, have all the highway levels in a single continuous stage, all the chemical plant levels, all the green hill, and all the sky sanctuary You could use seperate stages in the HUB to enter each of these

Cyberspace felt more like the levels of frontiers than the open zones did, so I was assuming we’d get this level if there were any new levels in x gens, glad I was wrong though, I think chaos island had way more potential, plus I think of cyberspace more as special stages now anyways.

Shadow Generations physics are sooooo good. I love Frontiers but my God those cyberspace physics weren’t good. Even the way Shadow feels in his stages vs Sonic in the open zone, I like that Shadow feels weighted and hope Frontiers 2 uses that feel instead of the floatyness of Frontiers 1

yeah but then any game sonic team makes would be trash by comparison, the modding community is already more skilled. Im not against the idea but i think it is very unlikely
in theory, yes. the game can load multiple stages' worth of objects and terrain, but making all of those stages fit together is the hard part. you'd need the ability to move stage assets to a different place, which is relatively simple for terrain and collision, but paths and object layouts are tricky. to my knowledge, no currently available level editor supports moving entire level layouts, so that will need to be done by hand. beatz' unity editor has some support for this, but it's not fully finished. as for the level transition itself, you'd have to merge everything i mentioned above no matter what. there is an object that lets you teleport the player between locations, though you would need to tweak the sequence to not look janky. so tl;dr it's possible, but as of now it would take A LOT of effort haha.

Yeah and maybe act 2 could be the update 3 versions of those levels in reverse order, without the weird spedometer gimmick from 4-G
I actually want something like:
4-2 + 4-4 as Act 1
4-G + 4-H as Act 2.
Seeing this level of quality from the community this early in this game’s life cycle gives me tremendous hope for its future.

It is interesting how people managed to port Frontiers stages into Shadow Gens faster than Unleashed stages into Sonic Gens.
most likely because both games are on pc so getting the files and shit are a lot easier for anyone who just owns both games and has modding knowledge

none of the stages are combined. 4-2 and 4-4 replace the main acts of space colony ark, while the other 4 levels are challenge acts
