A video featuring a couple of night-time shots from this loud level crossing located beside Petersfield Station, one of the more major stations on the Portsmouth Direct Line. This level crossing in the South Downs town is currently operated from the signal box next to it, which is also believed to have control over the one at Liss station via CCTV, though within the next few months, this will likely transfer to Basingstoke with the crossing expected to get a full renewal as the line gets re-signalled. At the time of filming, only two of the three alarms were sounding, with a wire likely coming loose inside the one closest to the double-arrow station sign. This could well remain disconnected for good now as the noise from the other two is more than sufficient to provide the area with a clear audible warning.

Great video and crossing! The two working alarms there definitely sound rather nice. The signal box there certainly looks a bit cozy as well, lit-up at night like that, lol. Great catch with that meet too!

Brilliant Videos! 👍🏻👍🏻 I think it sounds better with them 2 alarms tbh. Great catch of that double pass in the 2nd Closure!

It is a little less tumultuous with just the two, I will agree. Perfectly fine to leave it as it is until the renewal. Thank you very much!

Just a slightly newer barrier arm in that corner unfortunately.

Nice video. Did this finally get new barriers?

Cheers! One barrier box was replaced by a slightly older one being re-used here, and some barrier arms may have been replaced over time, but they're mostly still the same ones that are showing their age.
