OMG Bro that sounds hella sweet! That's gonna be a great bike! MORE MORE MORE! Seriously though I've been thinking goldwings are prime candidates since their plentiful and cheep
I know this posting is over a year old, but I prefer the sound with the baffles installed. The baffles mute the hollow tube notes and capitalizes on the mellow sound of the engine running.
Thanks! I'm hopeing to. I'm really leaning towards no baffles. I just dont want to wake the dead when I start it up to go to work at 6:30am ya know LOL
My papa and I did one back in the day and we used bed rails off of a 04 truck put one on each side 3 into 1 that sounded great would a flapper on the bottom for the back pressure
I wrapped my pipes once and took it off after I got stuck in a rain storm, the water stayed in the wrap and steamed up real bad for ever, felt like an idiot at the traffic lights sitting there with a cloud of steam hope you have better luck with it
Hey thanks so much for posting one of the good things on TH-cam Love Honda force and six-cylinder motors amazing why Honda doesn't build a bobber just?
LOL Thanks man! I'm saving up for the carbs right now. Thats what the hold up is. I hope to have an update vid out soon. Thanks for the interest!! Stay tuned!!
No more videos. Its quarantine man. Need more content. The bike is a sick build. I have a gl1100 goldwing 1982 stock bobber with air ride suspension. If your painting it i would do a heavy matallic, pearl white or black.
LOL Sorry brother! I'll have a quick update soon but no build stuff right now. I had a new baby recently and thats eaten up a lot of my time. Soon tho!! Thanks for the paint ideas, I'll keep that on mind. Make sure you subscribe with the bell so you get the notification went the new vid gets dropped! Also check out my Instagram! Maby send me some pics of your ride on there!! THANKS!!
I love the way the flat 4s sound...I have an 83....my first goldwing I wanna do something like this my existing exhaust its complete and all there but did u reset the carbs for this application
Ya man! 83s are my favorite! No re jetting on the Cafe bike just changed the exhaust. That's it. When it comes to this build I will have moc webber on it so... who knows.
th-cam.com/users/shortsJPrrbjGrDyE just done my exhaust haven"t ceramic coated it or wrapped it yet but did build complete custom headers and such and got the 371 thumper cams in it along with timing advanced 8 degrees

Do you have to remove the center stand for this? If not, is the center still functional? I'm really considering this for my 87 goldwing build but enjoy having my center stand lol
Yes, you do the CS is to low to have the bike sit this low. Also the feet of the stand is where the pipe crosses in front the rear tire. No way around it I see.
@@akaSuperJimmy I was meaning a way to have the exhaust clear. I actually plan to do more of a cafe racer/sport bike stance where I pop the rear end up a tiny bit, and drop the front slightly. Looking at everything last night, I may be able to have the left side pipe cross over where the mufflers connect in the center, and have the pipes sit up just high enough to clear the center stand, but unsure yet. I really do love the sound this gives though.
Baffles definitely made the motor sound happier with that little extra back pressure which equals longer motor life.
Agree, dam nice set of pipes...
No baffles! No question
Ya that's what I'm thinking.
Love the crackle of them without but with the baffles in, sounds like it’s a strong sports car. Either way sounds great.
I'll probably run it with no baffles for a little while and if it drives me nuts I'll throw some in.
I'm really indecisive about the exhaust with/without the baffles cuz I honestly like them both, the build is really coming along and looking amazing!!
I think without baffles sounds super clean and crisp
Definitely with
Really appreciate the sharing of info and testing. Keep up the good work.
Thanks so much!

Dude, you should get one. There awesome.

I agree!
My vote is for the with baffles sound
Better with baffles, it runs happier.
Great videos! I have to tackle the exhaust on mine soon. I think I like the sound with the baffles. Be safe and thanks!
Thanks, you too!
dude this is awesome, hope you keep making the videos theyre great! the no baffles sounds amazing and i think it will go well with the bobber style.
Thanks! I'm hopeing to. I'm really leaning towards no baffles. I just dont want to wake the dead when I start it up to go to work at 6:30am ya know LOL

Keep up the good work, your videos are quality content. You deserve 100k subscribers! Also that thing sounds meannn
Thanks! Its definitely been a learning process. 100k would be awesome, share with your friends and maybe I'll get there. LOL
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED - Sincerely, your 333rd subscriber. BTW, no baffles. Baffles are for squares.
LOL! THANKS!

LOLOL Been there brother. Still looks dope tho. plus, covers all my crapy welds!! LOL
With baffles, definitely. Mellower, but still with the growl.
Hey thanks so much for posting one of the good things on TH-cam Love Honda force and six-cylinder motors amazing why Honda doesn't build a bobber just?
Wow thanks!! Ya I know right, honda boxer would be sweet!
I cant wait to see the open carb idea you mentioned in Part 1. Hurry up on the next video lol

I'm thinking definitely no baffles!!!
i was thinking you were so brave doing the wrapping bare hands :) am sure it itched a lot
Not too bad, I did end up putting gloves on tho. LOL
With baffles
Baffles,sounds better
For a bobber no baffles. You have a raw look, and you want a raw sound.
I like the logic. Thanks!
Hey Jimmy, if someone were to pay you, would you replicate this for someone who doesn't have the tools and space to do it themselves?
Well man I can't say it would be cheep but I definitely could consider it.
Sounds mean with no baffles.
Thanks man. I definitely think ill be giving it a try for a while.

How far did u cut the exhaust so u could use the header from the old exhaust?
Just 1" back from were they turn into a round shape.
Can't go wrong either way.
I dont know what sound i expected, but it wasnt as good as THAT.
LOL yep Its mean ant it!
With, for me

@@akaSuperJimmy fantastic! Thanks so much for the response and help!!!!
@@akaSuperJimmy Thanks, I'm leaning towards a single for mine, hopefully it can sound that good.
What kind of welder are you using?
I have a Lincoln electric 140. Its only flux core but it gets the job done.

Man, that sounds just like the other bike I have. have you seen my Cafe GL?
th-cam.com/video/duhcZ9FtOeI/w-d-xo.html
I'm guessing that is mild steel. What did you do to keep the pipe from rusting?
yep, no S.S. here. The paint should hold up. On my cafe build, I used the same black paint and its holding up great.
What diameter of pipe did you use
2 1/4
What is the Diameter of those exhaust pipes
2-1/4

Hi
Just a question do you have a contact email for hotwingglass.com from your other build...i cant get in contact from there site??
I think they went out of business. I'm not ready sure where to get a seat for a GL Sorry!!!
@@akaSuperJimmy
Thanks for reply
Your cafe racer gl is a work of art and inspired me to buy my one
Well done
HAHA got some gloves on fast that shit gets in your skin isn't fun to deal with.
LOL I didn't use gloves for the Cafe project. For some reason the titanium wrap was worse on my hands.
