I play alot of the old Ark Survival evolved and my system can handle it but i sometimes get alot of pauses in the game but made even worse now by windows trying to do random things in the background!, Think they need someone like you who cares about games to fix it!
pretty much sure it is trying to catch up with all the calculations, so it stops the gameplay until it finish all calculations so that is quite bad user experience, probably you need to stop some other software to make it run or run it at a higher priority so Windows will not try to do anything strange during your gameplay. Just make sure only happens in that game, if it happens even on windows, your hard drive may be dying, that's another reason it may get stuck frequently. It happened to me a few years back when one of my drives was about to die and when I was playing many times those games got stuck , eventually windows started to make that too and then the drive died.
@@MysticRiverGames Hey hey, Yeah i have to stop alot of windows services if i want smooth gameplay with either Ark/Conan exiles and having a 12G GPU is helpful so think its just windows being annoying as the laptop does the same thing just random pauses and as for the HDD its quite new in my pc so not dying just yet 🙂 anyways keep up your hard work but dont work too hard! 🐝 🍺
@@ste666666666 check if it is getting too hot, since it is a laptop and summer maybe for you, it may be getting too hot so in order to not die it slows down itself to keep itself between the temperature range. If you have a nvidea card there is a game mode, that force windows to run many crappy things
