Hard Marching at Mason City Iowa Civil War Reenactment

Follow along pards on our adventures from the Union camp and on the battle field at the Mason City Iowa Civil War Reenactment as we reenact the 160th Anniversary's of the Battle of Chickamauga.
3 Day event; School tours on Friday, Infantry and Artillery Drills and Battels will be on Saturday and Sunday. Music and cooking in camp, period Sutlers and food vendors.

HEY pard! is this event next weekend Sept 23-24? if so I won't be able to go as I'm detailed to the 160th Chickamauga GA event.. Take pictures if you can and I'll put the Pine Crest event on the marching list for future events. Hope to see you in the field or around the fire again.

@1stminnsharpshooters341 yes, it will be from December 1st to 3rd, the first nebraska will be going, they are trying to get 2 companies together for a mini battalion

I hate to be a poop but from the camera angle during the Battle, I see many times the rear rank boys at the Wrong firing positions. Your left forearm should be on the front ranks soldier's back while stepping forward with the RIGHT foot. During the filming of North and South Book 2, we saw injuries from the rear rank boy in the wrong position when firing. Not to mention the poor sole who shot himself in the face and lost an eye. (NEVER LOWER YOUR HAMMER ON THE PERCUSSION CAP! Half Cock is your safety!)
Your stew looks good. I used to thicken mine up with Hard Tack
