- The Battle of Chickamauga, fought on September 18-20, 1863, between Union and Confederate forces in the American Civil War
It was the first major battle of the war fought in Georgia, the most significant Union defeat in the Western Theater, and involved the second-highest number of casualties after the Battle of Gettysburg. [Wikipedia]
Hard marching and work on the filed by men on both sides of the conflict... great time at this event. Sending you a personal invite, pards to follow our adventures on the field on this channel at facebook.com/1St.Minn.Sharpshooters
Why are so many reenactors obese? Doesn't this sort of take away from the authenticity?
The sound was incredible! Put the video on at work with headphones on and it was awesome. Also loved the shot of the Rebels walking past and checking on their Union counterparts. Shows the great community we have in the hobby.
I love the sound clips as well pard, and try to capture this when ever possible, the crackle of the fire or the marching of feet. I also intentional highlight the comradery and mutual respect for all involved in the hobby - tons of great folks out there. THANKS a ton pard for your comment.
Excellent footage, greetings from the 9th Kentucky 🇺🇸
Hey Pard - was your 9th KY in this fight? either way, perhaps our paths will cross either on the field or around the camp fire. --LT
I love how when the confederates are charging they’re asking if all the union soldiers are they OK and they’re saying they look good and they all make friends at the end. That’s just true spirit and that warms my heart bro that’s amazing. That’s another reason why I can’t wait to go to reenactments and be in reenactments! But it’s also cool but also surprising that like 13 or 15 year-old boys and girls their dancing that’s pretty cool. I guess I don’t know if you ever wanna go out reenacting follow your advice.
glad you enjoyed the clip of the rebels giving us union "dead" boys a good natured hard time ... truly a great group of folks on both side of the line. THANKS pard for the comment and well keep post'en our adventures in the field. --LT

Hi, I was one of the campaigner drummers with the snare/bass, do you happen to have more video of the drum corps? Also you didn't happen to get any video from the large corps we made with the rebs Saturday do you?
Apologies pard but I didn't get more of your group - I did chat with your group Sat night - but you had just finished up. The next time we meet up - lets connect and I'll get you all the video of your performance. --LT
I saw a civil war reenacment for the first time recently. 2 guys both came as abe lincoln, it was a mistake. So the people in charge put one of the lincolns in command of the confederate side to even out the battle

@@1stminnsharpshooters341 My unit is the 12th LA but at Chickamuga we were 3rd Battalion, 1st Brigade, 7th company. I think im in one of the companies on the left of the screen. You can actually identify our battalion at 1:08 because we had that square flag with orange bordering and with the ribbon on top.
And who films
I did all the filming on this video pard... In the future I'm going to see if I can be a civil war paper editor or photographer and just film full time. Sending you in invite to be member of our online group at facebook.com/groups/1St.Minn.Sharpshooters -- do answer the required questions to join the group.
