Took your advice on this video headed south this morning to Delacroix and caught the rusty bottom males. Stayed for about 3 hours caught over 4 dozen. Thanks for the tip
Great video! I grew up here on The Gulf, here in Mobile, Alabama. It's been a while since I've had the pleasure of going crabbing. One of the last times I did though, I caught so many blue crabs, I had to stop by Home Depot to buy a new freezer before going home! Literally several hundred of them. Gotta get back out there soon. It's so liberating! Thanks for the video fellas.
Get you a No. 3 tub and a plastic lug. Drop those ring nets in the number three tub so your crabs don't get away and then you can pick them easy in the tub. The lugs work good to hold them so you don't have to keep carrying all your crabs and have that chance of accidentally tipping that hamper over. Just trying to give some tips. Plus I'd get a good pair of stainless tongs.
man I miss st.bernard parish,,, live in texas now,, went to galveston island and crabs are 5.oo a pound live,, basically one big blue crab .. crazy.. have they built any hotels in the parish, or challmette, arabi since Katrina? I recall they had the one hotel by the marina wharf .
Jared, you’re coming along well my friend. Do you know Robert Arrington, Deermeat for dinner? Invite him down for a catch clean and cook. He lives doing g stuff like what you’re doing. I loved your sons quest appearance and comment about your haircut….hilarious 😂😂😂. Keep em rolling my friend.
First time , seeing your video, i really enjoyed it, i was wondering will the still ray be some good bait for catching catfish, since it has lots of blood in them,
you make it look easy as butter. meanwhile I wouldnt catch a single one. Im planning on taking a ride down to this pier. I see that its 30 miles from new orleans area
You are becoming a local Celebrity they were talking about you on the pier last Sunday! My brother said he knows your people and then several people were talking about your videos it was a nice time on that pier. P.S we cough over 200 crabs and kept about 5 dozen. If you have children it is a great place to introduce them to the outdoors its clean and nice bathrooms. As always great video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🐟🦀
Great video on crabbing but what kind of license does a person need 2 get if u don't live in Louisiana and what does that license cover just crab? What does the license cost. Thxs
Hey Jared can you put a link to or at least the name of the net you use to get your shrimp?? I looked through your shrimping videos at the links below and couldn’t find anything. Thanks from Arkansas! ❤
If you catch a female that has already had eggs you are better off to keep her then I'm immature male because females only lay egg was once. The males are more important. Unless the females are in the shape of v.. which means they have not laid eggs and females taste better sometimes trust me. I do it commercially

Here in WA, orr Ble Swimmer crabs have to be 127 mm across the carapace before we can keep them
If you cook that for me, I am coming to visit for sure!!!
Yea Boy you been going Strong Lately!
My man!

No size limits? I went crabbing in Rockaway Beach Oregon and they had to be pretty big to keep and only males.
Awesome
I just moved to slidell la. I'm trying to get some fishing done . Any recommendations? Redfish are main target ?? Or can I go fishing with you ??
I would drive there just to hang with you but it would cost nearly 1k in gas alone.
Love you man
Thank you brother y’all keep me going
How was the Gnats out there
Some of those crabs looks like babies, I wonder how much meat can you get, but to each it's own

It’s best if you refer directly to the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries website.
Where do you get your crab nets from?
Could you give links of the crab nets for sales?
Pelican Bones is so funny
The BIG NASTY, if you can weed out the worms, I heard they're pretty good table fare.

It’s just a cheap cast net from Amazon nothing special. It’s a 6ft
I will be there for sure
What crab net are you using
You can get them at Hook and Line Sporting Goods in Chalmette or call and have them shipped
Is this brackish water?

Hell yeah crab and sheepshead oh my

Oh no! If Everyone goes there give it a few years and there won't be so many... but being aware of Regulations really helps that - its true!
Where can I get some of those nets?
Hook and Line Sporting Goods in Chalmette La can ship them to you
They are still not maryland blue crabs

I prefer bbq crab, aka fried with bbq spice applied before and after deep frying
Try beef liver it does great for crawfish not sure bout crab
I like your attitude brother but then in my experience folks from LA are more laid back than us Texans
Jarred people will argue about it for ever. They have no life
