Guys, please stop apologizing for the shop segments, I cannot get that anywhere else. Looking forward to the even deeper dive into this monstrosity of a drivetrain.
The new C63 AMG is a total abomination. No wonder Mercedes is scrambling to bring back V-8’s in many AMG models since no one wants this trash that’s destined to breakdown.

I'd argue that car single handedly changed the performance car industry by being the "supercar killer" with all of its electronics. Shifting away from more driver engagement to advance aids doing it for you. Hilariously that car feels analog by today's standards because of how heavily OEMs doubled down on it.
Sadly not anymore. Toyota named their new engines iForce "Max" and it's less engine than the V8, even more insulting than the buzzy 4 bangers with the iForce name. it's really sad honestly
@@MuppetsSh0w Fun Fact: numbers are routinely rounded up or down to a tenth. Just like how a Mustang 5.0 is 4.951 liters and the previous W204 C63 was 6.211 liters. They’re not going to put the hundredths or the thousandths on a model name.
the number designation hasn't reflected the displacement for several years, but rather the power output of a theoretical equivalent naturally aspirated engine.
@@lawlkings no one's buying the new C63- the sales are horrible, even in Germany. Everyone who knows cars knows that hybrid/EV drivetrains are faster than CE, so your point, while still valid, isn't as big of a justification as presented.
@@m.z.9411 Yes usually when any car is 90 to 100 thousand you are not going to get a lot of sales. People can't afford it. But they sure know how to complain about it!
The 6.2 v8 AMG Black was the pinnacle of C Class AMG cars. I would drive this car if one was given to me...drive it straight to the carmax and get cash, fast.
@davidwebster2616 the looks that are classy and held up well, the compact dimensions, the muscle car/tough guy attitude which were distinct, the big v8 engine as a callback to the original W124 E class AMG "Hammer," and that kind of thing. I think it was a truly special car.
The drive train explanation sounded like math homework. It delivers, but long term sounds like a maintenance headache. But that is true of a lot of cars today.
Most self acclaimed “car guys” these days barely open the hood. Most have never turned a wrench in their life. They hardly know the difference in engines without a quick Google search.
The shop segments are always the most fascinating, and sometimes scariest, part of these videos. This tech is insanely cool, no doubt, but it sucks seeing another addition to the trend of impractical-to-repair, disposable cars. Great video as always guys. The Burger was a nice touch!
been seeing your shorts, with someone who repairs for a living, WHY look at a german car?! unless you like torture. fyi, cars come with a lot less gooch dust
"We've changed our Ribeye to a Salisbury steak, but we're still calling it a Ribeye for marketing purposes. Hope you love it and don't mind paying the same or more." Thanks, Mercedes Benz
Haha this resonates. The decision to put the battery pack high up above the rear axle strikes me as odd. Love the concept of hybridization they are using here but the implementation seems way off.
Plugin hybrids are not a new thing. It mostly means less load on the ICE engine and better longevity. Battery life and reliability has vastly improved over the last decade. Most commenters have an opinion, but rarely reference any data / sources to back it. I guess this is not normalized in YT comment world
@@David_Journeyyou’re entirely overlooking the electrical gremlins that Mercedes (most Europeans face) also you want to talk longevity on a 4 pot ICE? This thing is making 470HP out of a 2L!! Look at the size of that turbo. Longevity was thrown out the window the moment they slapped that turbo on
@@phillipsmith1489and the battery replacement is going to be expensive. They always are. You can get a 20 year old car with low miles, the engine will be mostly fine. Batteries just seem to degrade with usage and time.
I'll start with the fact I own a previous c63s sedan. I didnt buy it because "I'm rich, I want a fast car", I bought it because of the emotional V8 sound (albeit with turbos) that makes me want to go to the office even though I could work from home, it brings a smile to my face just starting it up, it has the practicality of the 4-door with a large boot so I can use it daily with my family. It allows me to go to a meeting and be formal and it allows me to be a straight up hooligan on the way back home if I want to. I know an M3 would handle better, I know an RS would be faster but this is all beside the point as they fullfill different goals that I do not aim for. The reason to buy an AMG were the emotions derived from that thunderous V8, the European muscle car if you want. It was never being the fastest or best handling on the road or track (GTR etc excluded). Looking at it now, I can get an EV far cheaper and it is going to do exactly the same for me from an emotional perspective. Probably faster too and with less problems down the line. But as you said, the hybrid tech in this four pot could wonderfully enhance a real V8 AMG engine that would still be full of emotions. Hopefully AMG listens to their customers.
@MemberHomei I agree with you no need for so much HP, I think my 500hp is enough. However they can leverage the mild hybrid version in a V8 to provide a seamless spool at low RPP or off the line or when accelerating out of the corner. You also have the added benefit of conforming with ever tightening regulations while still enabling a fun driving experience. Look at what Porsche did with the 992.2 for a great example.
C63 my rear.... glad I bought the Jaguar F Type R, after you guys covered it. E63 AMG was my dream car at one point... ugh... what a shame to see what MB is doing...
F-Type is so underrated. That's my attainable dream car and I will have one one day. I currently daily it's great-grandfather, a 2003 XK8 convertible. At least that has an honest to god 4.2 L V8.
On my 2nd F. But I'd be hesitant on a3rd or to buy one much down the road. They've fully stopped making any jags and i worry about service availability and parts
@@Bursar60 I hear you... the XK is even older. While there is some crossover with f-type parts... the after market is not going to do much due to the low production numbers. Plastic cooling pipes are probably the biggest concern.
Had two of these. Both has build quality issues (rattles squeaks on both) transmission is unbelievably jerky under 40 mph. Ride is stiff and uncomfortable. 4 cylinder sounds is amplified thru speakers. No soul. Felt like Subaru WRX on steroids. Both had check engine lights within first 100 miles. Both made in South Africa. Returned them bought a BMW M. Best decision ever.
I'm from a younger generation and I find it ugly. It also has the issue that all tech has, it will be dated in 5-10 years. Give us physical buttons and dials. The only thing a screen should be for is a gps
32, it's a cost cutting gimmick that is annoying to use, unasthetic, and will age poorly. I like having a small screen in the middle of my gauge cluster giving me more info when I want it but that's it. Realistically all I need a screen for beyond that in my car is as a media player. Nobody I know uses built in nav, and almost nobody I know even uses screen mirroring. We are all familiar with the "battery of arms" for using our cell phones. They fit neatly in our hand and we have muscle memory on our side using them making them safer when we need to change a destination etc than trying to do so in the infotainment system. A dash mount for my phone is all I need.
I think it'll meet somewhere in the middle. Most things will go back to physical buttons, which is as it should be. But the ability to customize the gauges and driver display should stay. Just an opinion.
Nothing wrong with screens, but they need to bring the buttons back. How do you drive and use the screen at the same time? Sounds like an accident by waiting to happen.
im sure this 4 cylinder is better than the old v8 performance wise, but people don't buy this kind of car for its performance. who would possibly need 600 hp on public road? people need the show factor, the emotion a v8 provides. this is exactly what the engineers at merc got wrong
Nobody spends this kind of money for an emotionless appliance. If you have to strip your emotions to enjoy the car, that's the fatal mistake right there. I'm not a car guy, but I can understand that.
Well tbf if people were going for "emotion", Lexus V8s would've been selling like hotcakes since forever. Or the big 3 would've sweat bullets with Blackwings being a thing. Instead Lexus sedans are people's fourth choice after the big 3 (big 3 german. Don't get confused with the american big 3 oh no). And Blackwings were nowhere near being a competition to the big 3. Just admit it, people want big 3 badges and straight line speed. Tesla has shown that you can attract millions of people into EV fad with straight line speed.
This video demonstrates the strength of the SavageGeese channel. A deep, thoughtful discussion of a complex car. Well made video. Really enjoyed it. TY.
1) I’m someone who buys in this category 2) I don’t care if it’s faster because all these cars are extremely fast on public roads. 3) no big burly V-8 = no sale by me.
AMG without a V8 makes no sense for now. It's not speed, but feel. Just make it EQC or something. Have the EQ nameplate for electrification straight line speed, Maybach for the luxury and comfort, and AMG for the raw V8 feel.
I test drove one of these a month ago and it’s seriously fast in a straight line but I track my cars so the weight was a dealbreaker for me. I ended up going with a 2025 CT4 Blackwing
Have you checked the prices of E30 M3s and Mercedes 190E Evo IIs recently! Heck even the Ford Sierra RS 500 Cosworth is far from a cheap modern classic either. There are plenty of expensive four cylinder cars.
Spent 4 years of my life working for Mercedes. They used to pride themselves on safety, build quality and durability. Now they just make cars to try and justify why they funneled so much money into F1. Mercedes corporate operates like BIG Government. Ride on backs of the people who got you there, then spend big on contracts that benefit the few. Customers never asked for products like this. Nor did product managers. This was forceful & deliberate. Ask this: Why would a company discard 30 years of brand equity (that they paid for) by eliminating the one constant to the AMG brand? The performance tunned V8.
I once worked at their engineering facility in N. Florida. They had enough odd quality issues at the time, but I cannot imagine how the latest platforms and technology additions are performing now. And I certainly agree, no one asked for a 5,000lbs C-Class with essentially two drivetrains in one vehicle. The packaging looks like a nightmare, the product looks cheap and feels cheap (well, at least for a C Class at this price). I wonder how many warranty claims are coming back for dead or scratched screens, piano black trim and steering wheel controls.
EU regulations. They HAVE TO sell certain percentage of (PH)EV's or face fines and lawsuits. In UK fine is 14,000£ PER CAR sold. And their new Labour government is 100% comited on banning the sales of pure ICE cars in 5 years. EU is not much different. Climate zealots are cheering on the destruction of car industry and industry in general. Insanity rules the world right now.
@@MrHaun Thanks for sharing Mr. Haun. I'm sure they will have their hands full on the warranty side. It would be nice to know the insider executive decisions on why they have taken this approach. 100% agree, the dual drive train is just beyond stupid. I wrote my original comment more on a whim to share a perspective that i been pondering for some time after seeing the massive swing in the company in the early mid 2010's. As known, historically with racing, companies will use it as a trickle down strategy for engineering and marketing. I'm not an F1 fan since 2013 and I'm sure there is more insight and info out there. But i don't think it was a coincidence that Mercedes did as well as they did and WHEN they did it. They dump a TON of money into a sport they hadn't had any real success in since the silver arrow golden age of racing. Then they rebrand the racing team as Mercedes-AMG, which who knows if AMG truly had any involvement as i would assume Mercedes just poached people from all over the racing industry. Mercedes made a crazy amount of money in 2000s and was still capitalizing on the spill over of that customer loyalty all the way through the recession and picked up new global markets like China a long the way. I have a suspicion some advantageous people saw this as an opportunity to fund some business expenses their way with all that extra money. At first it seamed like Mercedes was using F1 to bring more awareness and credibility to the AMG brand. They were brining new and more AMG models to the market, adding the AMG customer experience and lounge and delivering the AMG GT which to this day, is one of the best driving cars I've ever driven. But all of that seamed to short lived once the C43 and E53 came to market and did not deliver the "One man one engine" signature they had spent 20 years devoting to the brand. At the end of the day its probably not worth my time. But to someone it might be. I had worked in sales at the top Mercedes dealer in the world and spent a lot of time at the Long Beach corporate facility doing certification training. I was with Mercedes for both the W204 6.2L C63 and the W205 4.0L C63. Mercedes did not sell as many C63 as people think they did. On a decent month we would maybe sell 4 or 6 out of 800 cars per month were C63. Mercedes NEVER NEVER NEVER asked for customer feedback on products, or let alone the people who interfaced with the customer on a daily basis. BMW M3 owners rarely cross shopped the C63 because frankly it was inferior in every way besides the engine and the build quality. Yet, it was marketed as a more expensive, luxurious and exclusive product. Only one of those traits was true and that was the price. 80% of the buyers would look at the $75k price and realize they should just get a different car for the money since the lease rate was so high compared to other models. You could get an S550 or a CLS550 for about the same payment which were better cars and arguable best in their category. On a side note. I think Mercedes missed a golden opportunity to rehash the C32 AMG and stick with 6 cylinders if they weren't going to offer the 8. The C450/C43 were very well rounded cars. Those cars needed a diet, dedicated rear wheel drive and some extra rigidity but could have been, in my opinion, way better cars than this current C"63" and would have been a lot cheaper and more dynamic. But I guess LCD screens, LED lights and electric motors are more important. Again, Mercedes says it knows it customer. But like i mentioned. They never asked. They just look at everything as a number at the end of the day and I did not want to work for a company that I could no longer reliably say was "the best or nothing".
JUST BUY USED, PEOPLE! There are countless objectively amazing and timeless cars that you can get at this price point. Stop giving auto makers money for trash.
There is a guy who refurbishes 70’s and 80’s Mercedes near me and there is something attractive about spending $40k on that car versus something new for $40k.
You like spewing uneducated nonsense as a hobby or something? You get free maintenance for 5 years and full warranty, in Europe at least. And you can extend that further. There's nothing on this car that would be expensive to maintain, not more than in other cars. It's a hybrid. Electric motors are very reliable, so are batteries. The 2 liter engine is a masterpiece of engineering and the materials it uses for internal components probably make it more durable than the old V8.

W205 TTV8 is the last true C63 AMG. Had mine for 3 years. Best car I’ve ever owned when it wasn’t in the shop. Will never buy this 4 banger unless they bring back the V8. Got the f pace SVR to replace the AMG. Once you go booster V8, it’s hard to go back to anything else. I hope no one buys this car so they can bring back the Legendary m156.

Appreciate this take. It takes excellent journalism to change someone's opinion, and you've changed mine. It won't make a difference, since I won't ever buy one, but a tip of the cap to you both.
Yes this car is nice to look at on the outside. However this Benz is like a "free breakfast" buffet at a corporate hotel. Sure it's all you can eat (and fills you up) but completely unsatisfying after you leave the buffet line. They should call the brand something else other than "Mercedes." Because this is not the Mercedes most Genx'ers (like me) grew up with. Rather have an Audi RS3.
No need to rely on memory; just google 2015 Tesla Model S interior. The 10 year-old center screen in that is bigger and actually has smaller bezels than the screen in the new Merc. Even look at the beautiful screens in the 2019 Taycan. I know that’s only 6 years, not 10 (and admittedly in a higher price range than the c-class), but still.. Don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for Mercedes and they have rightly earned a reputation for being on the cutting edge of car tech, but they’re guilty as charged here… I really don’t know what they’re thinking with the interior displays. They just look old and bulky. Maybe if they were integrated into the interior rather than just stuck on like an afterthought… idk…
I just watched the news about Porsche and I think Mercedes is doing the right thing. While some Mercedes fans like the handling of the top end range most buyers don’t care about weight and handling. Besides a luxurious interior they also want a fast car and if they find a cheaper and faster one they will go there so, it is not enough. Probably they need to ditch the hybrid drivetrain entirely for the 63.
"in their words, the v8 does not make the c63, it is [instead] the performance available to the driver." Oh I'm sure the market will show them how wrong they are.
I did a ride-along in this thing at VIR a couple months ago and it was crazy! Granted, it was the only ride-along I’ve ever done but it was one of the most intense car experiences I have ever had.
I own a C 63S E Performance, took delivery back in November. Being a die hard AMG nut, the emotion compared to the V8’s is obviously not where it should be, having owned a GLE 63S 5.5L in the past. But I urge people just to give this a test drive and see what it does and how it feels. With that RWS it feels so much lighter and nimble. Yes people will throw words at it for being a 4cyl, I understand where they’re coming from. But give it a try physically. It’s a beast! And it’s a decent daily driver with the ability to drive in electric mode but gives quite limited range because it’s not meant to be driven like a proper hybrid, the battery is there to compliment that M139L engine. Give it a try. People these days have a tendency to judge a car based on how reviewers have tested it.
The car is selling, soo poorly dealerships are giving 20% off MSRP to bring the car closer to the MSRP of the G8x M3/M4. They STILL don't sell because no one wants a 2+ ton, 4 popper Sedan hybrid with a damn AMG badge on it. The sales are so bad that at one point, some dealerships are saying they sold 0 of them during a quarter. This is like if Porsche's GT division shoved a Turbo 4 cylinder in a GT3. This is about as bad as it gets for AMG and the AMG CEO still in his disillusion believes this is going to be a thing down the line.
In Mercedes's defense, if they put an inline-6 or V8 in here, this car would be even heavier. The inline-4 was a smart choice for them to keep weight down, complications aside. I wonder how this will compare to something like the new M5, which kept the V8 with a plug-in hybrid powertrain but is now heavier than an F150.
If you took all the electronics out other than what was absolutely necessary to maintain the power output most buyers would total the vehicle the first time they floor it. Just look at how many idiots speed in the rain. 400 pounds of extra gadgets and sensors and wiring to keep irresponsible people from killing themselves. Plus of course every type of noise dampening material on every interior panel to make sure you don't know you have gasoline exploding inside a cylinder and 20+ speakers to cancel out any harmonics that make it into the cabin.
I sincerely hope you guys get the chance to drive the first C63 with the 6.2L N/A at some point. It is dripping with character and soul. It‘s such an amazing car.
The Audi hate is real. The singular fixation on the suspension makes the RS5 forgettable, yet the singular fixation on the electrification of this thing seems acceptable because it's 'the future'? I'd way rather take Audi's 2.9T V6 - it actually has some character compared to this 4 cyl
huge respect to the MB engineers who managed to pull this off this project ... might not be the first choice from a gearhed's perspective, but non the less, hopefully with green fuels we will see again a v8 NA powerd c/e class
Car manufacturers keep making cars based on percentages and statistics, along the way they’ve lost the importance of how a car makes you feel. I know government regulations are a big part of this philosophy, but man it’s just sad to see.
What I am glad about is that they fixed the lagging issue that you have between the throttle where it's electric or it's impossible electric and then you give it full throttle and it's got like a big delay going from electric to motor to putting it both together because I remember throttle house were having a problem with that when they went to go review it in Europe
Over a $100K for a C63 isn't "outrageously priced." Ah inflation... what a time to be alive. This class of car used to be ~65K with options not THAT long ago.
Would you rather have a Model S Plaid for the same money? If it's only going to have a 4 cylinder you're not losing anything as special as the v8, and it weighs 5000 pounds anyway, so I would be curious to see your guys' opinion on a 2024 Plaid?
One of my relatives worked as a mechanic for 2 different Mercedes dealerships. I remember his reply when I asked whether it was true that Benz's were unreliable. His reply was that calling Mercedes unreliable was an understatement. I wonder what his thoughts would be on this car. I suppose this would be perfect for those who have a bottomless wallet, & will just discard the car once any out of warranty problems arise. This reminds me of the complexity of formula 1 cars. Everything goes into performance. Reliability? what does it matter? Last comment: We have speed limits & traffic where I live.. Just what is the fun of this car? It's like an Eagle in a cage.
Looking forward to the next generation, made-in-China 4-cylinder turbo Mercedes engine that was just announced. From looking at the tech, it should be a banger.
My 4 BlackWing is UNDER 2 tons, offers a manual, actual steering feel and has 4 piston REAR Brembos lol. It's also about $60k to start and every go fast part is baked into the MSRP. You can spend $20k extra on cake decorating if you choose.
The main issue this car has is it takes an engineer to appreciate it and understand what makes it so special and why it's a good thing someone made it. And most people aren't engineers.
I dunno, perhaps mechanical engineers prefer the good old small, high-revving NA V8 of the BMW M3 E90 and Audi RS4 B6, the closest to a Ferrari 458-type engine in a sedan! (Or some prefer the bigger, low-revving NA V8 of a C55 or W204 C63.) Unfortunately Euro 5, Euro 6 and Euro 7 emissions regulations are extra restrictions that are (perhaps heavy-handed?) and beyond the engineer's control?
I hope the 4 cyl engines have improved since MY 19. My neighbor has taken good care of his C300, doing oil services at 1/2 suggested interval. At 63K miles it sounds like nuts and bolts in a soup can when it idles. It is not bracket or exhaust rattle, it is engine. It is there when at full operating temp.
It’s amazing how well VW did revealing Scout versus these other brands…. Have a big screen but real buttons for HVAC, seats, and sound… and make a flat trunk for a big ass battery that launches you off the line and the engine adds 150 plus miles of range
You said it right at the end: blinding power isn't going to wow enthusiasts anymore. I have always been a fan of perception of speed over actual speed. Inertia driving with a Suzuki esteem on a back road will always be more fun than driving in straight lines only to not notice how fast you are, but how slow everyone else is. If you want to win the passenger throw up Olympics, get an EV. Otherwise, there are much more interesting or financially sane options out there. I wonder who buys an AMG to drive fast. Where I live they barely make it into third gear, leaving ice cream parlours or Shisha Bars. Some just rev in neutral. It's a way of notifying a city that you went into considerable debt.

Does the world really need an 800 horsepower hybrid V8?
@MemberHomei I agree with you no need for so much HP, I think my 500hp is enough. However they can leverage the mild hybrid version in a V8 to provide a seamless spool at low RPP or off the line or when accelerating out of the corner. You also have the added benefit of conforming with ever tightening regulations while still enabling a fun driving experience. Look at what Porsche did with the 992.2 for a great example.

They just look at everything as a number at the end of the day and I did not want to work for a company that I could no longer reliably say was "the best or nothing".

this car is like speedrunning "maintenance eventually costing more than the car is worth"
And it’s a decent daily driver with the ability to drive in electric mode but gives quite limited range because it’s not meant to be driven like a proper hybrid, the battery is there to compliment that M139L engine. Give it a try. People these days have a tendency to judge a car based on how reviewers have tested it.
84k for a 4 cylinder lie ... no thanks. Makes no sense, just go EV or all engine if you want to spend 84k on a fast car. No idea who this car is for.
I wonder how this will compare to something like the new M5, which kept the V8 with a plug-in hybrid powertrain but is now heavier than an F150.
how bout they just take out the stupid hybrid crap and put in a v8 again F*** EU regulations WE ARE THE PEOPLE! This is our world
This car looks like the car my great grandfather decided he always wanted to own yesterday.
Either your great grandfather was a futurist or you consider this newly minted Benz's style dated.
5k lbs?!?! I understand it has batteries and electric motors, but that weight is just inexplicable to me. I would understand 4k lbs.
@@Tokamak3.1415 plus massive cooling (and probably heating) for batteries, intercoolers etc
I'd way rather take Audi's 2.9T V6 - it actually has some character compared to this 4 cyl
i’ve been waiting for this video for over a year. i’m hyped!
This car will go down with enthusiasts as just a failed science experiment.
huge respect to the MB engineers who managed to pull this off this project ... might not be the first choice from a gearhed's perspective, but non the less, hopefully with green fuels we will see again a v8 NA powerd c/e class
"The V8 does not make the c63, it is the power available to the driver" - said nobody who bought a previous gen c63.
That rumbling burble of that big V8 certainly annoyed a C63 driver at some point....well, happily, problem solved.
@@cbotten106 The AMG GT Black Series has the nice four-cylinder sportbike sound from the flatplane V8 crank! Are you not a fan of that?
9:49 - some classic SG humor here, I nearly spit out my coffee 😂
Car manufacturers keep making cars based on percentages and statistics, along the way they’ve lost the importance of how a car makes you feel. I know government regulations are a big part of this philosophy, but man it’s just sad to see.
What I am glad about is that they fixed the lagging issue that you have between the throttle where it's electric or it's impossible electric and then you give it full throttle and it's got like a big delay going from electric to motor to putting it both together because I remember throttle house were having a problem with that when they went to go review it in Europe
Here ya go, insert where needed; ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Also, a few of these thingies; '''''''' You might also find these useful in places; .......
“The V8 does not make the C63, it’s the performance for the driver” hahaha 😂
U are the first car journalists I have had talking sense of the car, with no v8 bais
Over a $100K for a C63 isn't "outrageously priced." Ah inflation... what a time to be alive.
This class of car used to be ~65K with options not THAT long ago.
Don't worry, the inflation is transitory. My good friend Janet assured me. It will only be here for your lifetime.
This should really be an 80k car max with options
it was 65K for the real deal c63! now you pay more for less. (ok, more weight, but everything else less)
yeah well ever since the scamdemic it just seems everything skyrocketed for whatever lame reason they want to throw at us.
That was with a greater engine also (in my opinion)
Would you rather have a Model S Plaid for the same money? If it's only going to have a 4 cylinder you're not losing anything as special as the v8, and it weighs 5000 pounds anyway, so I would be curious to see your guys' opinion on a 2024 Plaid?
Love me a 2.0 litre 63 AMG
Might want to double-check that description guys, as this is pretty clearly not a Lucid Air video.
Mark wasn’t Lucid enough while posting this one 😂
cant believe you guys did not check out all the squeeks from interior? All plastic all noises if you touch any interior part. Thoughts?
The main issue this car has is it takes an engineer to appreciate it and understand what makes it so special and why it's a good thing someone made it. And most people aren't engineers.
I dunno, perhaps mechanical engineers prefer the good old small, high-revving NA V8 of the BMW M3 E90 and Audi RS4 B6, the closest to a Ferrari 458-type engine in a sedan! (Or some prefer the bigger, low-revving NA V8 of a C55 or W204 C63.) Unfortunately Euro 5, Euro 6 and Euro 7 emissions regulations are extra restrictions that are (perhaps heavy-handed?) and beyond the engineer's control?
best automotive channel on youtube... you guys rock
Dollar for dollar, I’ll take the caddy ct5 v black wing! God bless American muscle!

I remember when C-class had a V8 🙄
How old are you, Methuselah?
It’s amazing how well VW did revealing Scout versus these other brands…. Have a big screen but real buttons for HVAC, seats, and sound… and make a flat trunk for a big ass battery that launches you off the line and the engine adds 150 plus miles of range
The car is not designed for you the driver to enjoy, but for someone in Mercedes to get promoted
