- With Hurricane Helene bearing down on them, Matt and Andy race to get the rest of the ground ripped and planted with cover crop but fall short when a surprise rain event shows up. Matt shows the carnage from the gearbox on his combine that was leaking badly during corn harvest.

Another excellent video. Glad to see the combine going back together. Have a great week and stay safe.
Another great video! That Hurricane sure was a devastating one…
Thank you for putting the dates on your videos.
Love the videos !!!!
Great video Matt, thanks for your diligence in producing them for us. I suspect that they are mighty helpful to some aspiring future farmers.
Great video good to see y'all
im happy to see them corn stalks and all ur trash flowing thru that plow and not draggin up on you. i fig you woulda been huntin a set of wavy coulters for front of it but them smooth ones seem ti be doing jus fine
Kelly was riding on Maypops...'.they may pop any minute.'.
Good video
good thing that box didnt shell big problem lots of down time for sure really think you are g0ing to see a big difference in ripped ground
Does this ripper spaced at 38" spacing break compaction between shanks too?
Yes
I gotta say Matt that combine seems to cost u a bit of money every year with a fair bit of lost time. Not sure how many hours on it but might be time for an up grade for something with less hours. Good thing for u is that u do have more time than we do way up north.
Newer used equipment breaks down too. Would cost me probably $100K to upgrade to a 6-7 year old machine then would probably have to sink at least $20-30K in it to get it field ready. Go check out price of newer used combines. Lot cheaper to keep mine running.
pulling a ripper.... I have seen more return than anything else we have ever done.......
What kind of ripper are you using?
I think he had said it was a CaseIH ripper but I ain't 100% sure.
CaseIH 2500
GO VOLS!! BEAT BAMA!!

We have towns and communities destroyed in Western North Carolina. Some areas had 20 inches of rain.
Damn. I'm Sorry to hear that.
