I’m glad the yields have picked up some! So sad hearing about Nickey. From what little I spoke with him I could tell he was a nice man who loved his family. Prayers for Allison and the boys, as well as all who knew him.
It did dry up for parts of the Midwest. I’m up here in Nebraska and we haven’t had a substantial rain since June or July. Spring was great here but that valve got shut off quick and hasn’t been turned back on. But our prices are just as bad with cattle not helping either. Hopefully something gives soon
I’m glad your yield is going up I was watching Brian’s Farm in Ohio and they started out with some 30 bu wheat and 60 bu corn they have some hills where the corn never set a cob
Hi Matt I was watching a AG show on tv this morning and they were talking to a farmer here in Wisconsin who planted some acres of a shorter corn it grows only half as tall as the average corn and it will withstand up to 50 mph winds and it also somehow allows you to plant a higher population per acre
My brother and I are big believers in working smarter and not harder! The old timers worked us half to death in our youth. Also we refuse to buy new or even expensive equipment.
Is a positive basis normal for your area? Where we farm, there is a big corn deficit because of the dairys, but the local elevator still runs a -0.85 to -0.9 basis.
You wouldn’t necessarily need another driver, Andy just drives them both, drops one off to fill and is taking full one back in mean time, he just jumps from truck to truck, lot farms do that here.
So sorry for your loss. Excellent video. 🙏🙏 for you Kelley. Congrats on excellent corn yields Matt.
Prayers for west Tennessee and the familys yours and theirs

This video is absolutely amazing, I couldn’t stop watching!
Good to see a more positive Andy, I hope that the rest of harvest continued to be as positive as it was in this video.
Thanks for the camera work inside on the grain pan
Thanks for sharing. Our Prayers for the family. Thank you for sharing the information. 🙏🙏🙏
Mac, I think you need a 2nd trailer to park in field. Semi tractor can switch out quickly and keep the combine working.

Have a corn season good
I watch a TH-camr in Michigan and he plants Wycoff corn. He seems pleased with them. Might be worth looking into

Try Beck variety same as pioneer
03:02 - if a variety performs well, why would the seed company stop offering it?
Because they think they have something better that they can charge more for
What's all that yellow stuff on top of the cab!!
Praying for God's wisdom in your market decisions.
Matt i bet you have enough tools in your shop to fix kellys ankle for her.
Think a 7018 welding rod would do the trick???
@@griggsfarmsllcprobably will. 😂😂

A neutral to positive basis is normal for Tyson and the ethanol plant for delivery after harvest. December and after
@@griggsfarmsllc That is a good basis. Thanks.
Is it possible to plant your own seed from last years harvest or is the GMO variety a problem?
No, it is illegal to plant any saved GMO seed
So how much carry over corn percentage wise in December will make you uncomfortable ?
Have you ever looked into white corn?
The delivery options in our area are not very appealing

I was thinking the same thing, but as a owner operator if money is tight, it would make sense to have just 1 truck since help is hard to find
That’s a big expense just to save the few minutes it takes for a truck to be loaded
Why not just have two trailers, takes 5 minutes to unhook and hook trailers?
@@rick760 because it takes less than 5 minutes to load a truck. Makes no sense to change trailers
@@rick760 wasting time
