Hi Melissa! Really helpful both the guide and the ppt. Just to make sure that my understanding is correct: can I use vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone in the morning and Retinol 0.5% in Squalene at night ? Or is it better to use these products in alternative days ?Also, is it ok to apply a moisturizing mask after the Vitamin C ? I have a mature skin and luckily no skin problems except some wrinkles & small pigmentation spots.
Hello 😃 Generally, these pure Vitamin C products are not recommended for morning use because they contain only ascorbic acid in very high concentrations, and the formulation tends to stay on the skin surface a bit longer. However, if you have minimal sun exposure or are using it as the only treatment in the morning without layering sunscreen or other products, then you can do so. Otherwise, I would recommend using it on alternate nights in the evening. As for the moisturizer, it would be best to use a light serum, something like The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid or a gel-type The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + with Beta Glucan or +HA. Alternatively, you might use the light cream with HA beforehand; otherwise, it may not layer well, leading to pilling or an uncomfortable feeling.
If your skin has already adjusted to the tretinoin, then it should not be an issue. However, if it has not yet adjusted, I suggest using them separately in your skincare routine to minimize irritation.

@@xxYanexx Well, yes, in the beginning, this is the case. You will be able to use all kinds of products together, which may work for a week, a month, and sometimes even several months. it usually does not happen right away, but after some time, so you may be OK to do it for several days or weeks, and all of a sudden, it irritates the skin as it is too much to tolerate. So, therefore, I suggest not doing it.

Was sagt die Fachfrau dazu?🧐
Hi Melissa, these are the ingredients of the LRP Redermic C pure vitamin c spf 25. I know spf during the night…..but anyways, can I combine it with the retinol serum 🌙 ? Hello again :) well, as I said in the video, every time it contains "Ascorbic Acid", I do not recommend using it with Retinol. But yes, that is a sunscreen makes no sense to use it with Retinol in the evening. 😉 Just apply the Retinol at night and during the day, use your sunscreen :)
@@Nobinobli I think the ascorbic acid here is not the issue, but it is just that sunscreen is really not good to use in the evening, and it does not make any sense to expose your skin during the night to all these chemicals.
Omg I wish there was a way I could comfortably tolerate the ordinary Vitamin C suspension 23% + HA spheres - it’s hideous! Like acid sandpaper - it literally strips a layer of skin off my face when I use it as if it dissolves my skin . Even when I dissolve it with moisturiser it still stings like a bitch and I have 2 tubes of the bloody stuff to use up! Epic skincare fail on my part with that particular product 🙈 Anyone else hate that product ?
It sounds like you have been using other products before. So I wonder what else you use? But yes, I agree these formulations are not the best, and I do not like them so much. The best they have are the Ascorbyl Glucoside and the Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (the one not available).
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thanks , are those by the ordinary ? I do like the Ascorbic acid & alpha Arbutin serum , I’m just stuck with two tubes of the sandpaper stuff that I don’t be wasteful with by throwing away. I’m glad it’s not just me that thinks the vit c suspension is formulated terribly 🤣 . My main issue is that it just doesn’t mix with anything else . If I dilute it with moisturiser it’s more tolerable but I can’t apply anything else over it during the day and at bedtime I like to use my ordinary retinol products and I don’t want to do anything to annoy my skin by layering too many actives . It’s a hard life being a skin care junkie isn’t it ? Hehe 🤣🤣 ( just kidding )
Oh yes, I think the Ascorbic Acid + Alpha Arbutin is oily, and it just sits on top, and I just used it on my body 🤣 And yes, these serums are by The Ordinary. But the Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate has been out of stock for ages, but that was the best they offered. Well, the suspension is not meant to use during the day, but just in the evening before bed as it just contains Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid). But yes, even if you mix it with other serums or moisturizers, it layers even worse, and it often starts to pill (like little cotton balls showing on your skin). Therefore I thought you used it with other formulations.

Was sagt die Fachfrau dazu?🧐
Hallo Christian,
Veryyyy Informative video❤👍
🥰
Thank you ❤
Thank you!🤗
Hi Melissa, these are the ingredients of the LRP Redermic C pure vitamin c spf 25. I know spf during the night…..but anyways, can I combine it with the retinol serum 🌙 ?
Aqua/water; octocrylene; isononyl isononanoate; glycerin; mannose; ascorbic acid; ethylhexyl salicylate; dimethicone; butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane; diisopropyl sebacate; silica; sucrose tristearate; pentylene glycol; potassium hydroxide; polysorbate 61; peg-12 dimethicone; madecassoside; dimethiconol; sodium stearoyl glutamate; ammonium polyacryldimethyltauramide/ammonium polyacryloyldimethyl taurate; disodium edta; hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid; caprylyl glycol; acetyl dipeptide-1 cetyl ester; xanthan gum; parfum/fragrance.
Hello again :)
well, as I said in the video, every time it contains "Ascorbic Acid", I do not recommend using it with Retinol.
But yes, that is a sunscreen makes no sense to use it with Retinol in the evening. 😉
Just apply the Retinol at night and during the day, use your sunscreen :)
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet you’re right and I was that lazy or distracted that I haven’t seen the ascorbic acid through the ingredients.
@@Nobinobli I think the ascorbic acid here is not the issue, but it is just that sunscreen is really not good to use in the evening, and it does not make any sense to expose your skin during the night to all these chemicals.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I understand….
😃
Omg I wish there was a way I could comfortably tolerate the ordinary Vitamin C suspension 23% + HA spheres - it’s hideous! Like acid sandpaper - it literally strips a layer of skin off my face when I use it as if it dissolves my skin .
Even when I dissolve it with moisturiser it still stings like a bitch and I have 2 tubes of the bloody stuff to use up! Epic skincare fail on my part with that particular product 🙈
Anyone else hate that product ?
Oh yes, I think the Ascorbic Acid + Alpha Arbutin is oily, and it just sits on top, and I just used it on my body 🤣
And yes, these serums are by The Ordinary.
