TROGLO BYTE well that is your opinion, and while I do respect your opinion i feel that I loved it even more than you did. I'm sure you have your own thoughts on this which I do respect ofcourse.
Full disclosure, I was invited to the early screening of this episode on the promise that I would blindly praise it, and personally, it's the best podcast I've ever seen.
Are you stupid? They're more popular now than they were last year, and the year before that, and the year before that. They've tripled their cast and crew, how stupid do you feel dumb fuck? Maintenance Renegade they made that episode in a far, far more antagonistic light than they ever do with any other HITB so of course that was going to be the reaction
If you pay attention you can tell where the audio hard cuts and doesn't transition properly to the next shot or cut, where they had to cut off to another shot before everyone started laughing. Also the audio cut between the two consecutive shots is so close because they had to make up for the dead air in the editing timeline between the cuts after they removed the laughter. They laughed at Mike's jokes 2:10 and 11:16. They laughed at Jay's joke at 12:56. They laughed at Rich's joke at 4:23 and 14:23.

My wife and I saw The Force Awakens only once and we could name every character. We saw Rogue One a couple weeks ago and can't remember a single one, aside from Vader, Tarkin and Leah. I don't think it was terrible, I like movies with darker tones, but it certainly was forgettable.
I feel like such a buzzkill for having less than stellar thoughts about it. I hadn't seen my mother come out of a movie theater so excited in a long time, and I feel like such a party pooper for not sharing her perspective on it.
The Manic Boy Not what I'm saying at all. But it's helpful for the mouth-breathers when all your main characters have three letters in their names (Rey, Poe, Fin, Han, Maz...)

It's fair criticism. Should fear of hurting your audience's feelings discard critical thinking? Also Michael Bay is a bad comparison because he holds, or at least shows no ideals in his movies. Just dumb crowd pleasing diversion, like Collider.
I watched Rogue One, thought it was okay, and then realized I could not remember the name of a single character from it - unless you count Vader. I think that that's pretty decisive proof that the film did not land, at least for me. If the characters are forgettable enough that I literally can't remember their names, then the story totally failed to invest me in them.
That’s why they’re so great. They explain in detail where movies succeed or fail. As long as you’re open minded, you learn a lot about filmmaking from these guys.
I just watched Shutter Island a few hours ago and also literally can’t name a single character. I’m not necessarily defending rogue one, but I don’t really think name recognition is a great metric for film rating.
Very true. I found myself experiencing the same thing more than a few years ago with the Hobbit films. None of those dwarves felt like individual characters. And even though I could name their names from the book, I couldn't tell you what face was who.
This is - without a doubt - one of the most sensational videos I've ever watched. It's extremely intelligent, full of cleverly used irony and sarcasm all the way through. It's a brilliant critics of sellout movie reviewers and unintelligent, two-dimensional thinking (pleb) fans too, who would watch and love anything that is labeled with Star Wars. Well done, RLM! Sorry about my English.
His English isn't perfect LOL. You guys probably got an F for English. This guy is a B+ at best like Wtf is "used irony and sarcasm" that phrase makes no sense. Wrong used of tenses and grammar lol. Also "Sensational videos"?!?!?!?! It's only one video...
"They want us to feel the pain that these rebels felt when trying to get the plans to stop a giant spaceball that shoots lasers." Is literally the best comment about anything that has ever existed.
No. It's funny if you haven't heard it before. I've read that same joke on YT 5 times posted TODAY. I'm just pointing out that this kind of shit is really grating. Make up your own jokes next time and you won't have assholes like me calling you out. :)
That little knowing look that Mike gives Rich at the end of the video just shows how long they’ve been friends and how good there friendship is. Loved it.
Further reason why RLM is the only movie review channel I watch anymore. Tired of this kind of BS on other channels. You guys are like the Mark Twain or Jonathan Swift of our time. This is right up there with A Modest Proposal.
It's more about there pundit talk and the lack of analysing it as a film and automatically giving it a like out of geek and corporate sponsoring. Hence all the toys in the back ground, the geek create etc They were spot on.... Still though I love collider.

And keep in mind, these will be the same arse holes that constantly bitch about Force Awakens for being similar to New Hope because they watched one Max Landis video, yet will praise shows like Star Wars Rebels which literally just meanders about cluelessly filling up each Season until another fan-favourite pre-established character can show up for people to care.
This is exactly the therapeutic end I needed to my day of disbelief at fan culture. Cheers!
Sam dishing out the truth as always
Sams ChanneI RLM and Sams Channel. Realist movie review guys out there
Sams ChanneI
A movie focused on Darth Vader hunting surviving Jedi whilst being haunted by inner conflict would be interesting.
Ah who am I kidding? They'd fuck it up.
Why didn't Obi wan Kenobi tell Luke that his grandmother Shmi Skywalker was kidnapped and raped to death by sandpeople...
And why did that happen in a spaceadventure movie for little kids?
Plaguesque not every single thing that may have happened in the Star Wars saga needs to be made into a movie
Did someone at Disney see the animated intro, with the death star peaking over the ocean and turn it in as concept art for Rise of Skywalker?
I mean it was a thing since pre production of TFA. There's concept art of it
@The Rotten💯 they are roasting Collider.
Bro, you just made me laugh harder than I have in years 😂
@therotten6152 Watch the Collider Spoiler Review of The Last Jedi, one of them unironically says "I love Star Wars"
I feel like they just said "let's keep going until somebody breaks".
It feels like this is the only real and legitimate movie review channel anymore :/
While I'm still happy that RLM is going strong, this revelation is rather sad :(

They're certainly in smaller supply than the big guys like the hacks Jeremy Jahns or Angry Joe but they're out there. Give some of those guys I listed above a try if you haven't already
I think YMS and Chris Stuckman are also real and legitimate, they're not afraid to say that something sucks in a movie when it does. But I agree, most of them are going full fanboys and fangirls on them without talking about legitimate problems in the movies.
Please... Stuckman is just a fake fuck as Collider
*****
Yes, you beat me to writing this!
Hunter - True. I cannot deny some of those guys :)
Lol rip screen junkies, collider, nerdist, schmoesknow
Travis Spazz yeah, of that list, screen junkies are definitely the most cynical and critical. Particularly Dan Murrell and Spencer Gilbert.
Nerdist is commercialized trash
This is Escapist erasure
Vidrageon they used to be very cynical, but they have lost a lot of that over time
Now all we need is for one of them to be a sexual predator
Is Rich having diabetes a joke, or is it actually canon?
don't forget that crippling depression, too
Only in the RedLetterMedia Expanded Universe.
life expectancy of HIV on appropriate meds may actually be better than poorly controlled diabetes type II.
It's fanon, not canon, IIRC.
Silvagunner, Captain of the Ruse Cruise dammit I have to delete my comment. you got to eu joke first haha
I forgot how… _restrained_ their Nerd Crew set was in the early days
5 years later with Kenobi just airing I have to say this aged beautifully.
Personally, i loved this episode!
Personally, I also loved this episode.
I personally love this podcast. I give it 8 vistas out of 10.
TROGLO BYTE well that is your opinion, and while I do respect your opinion i feel that I loved it even more than you did. I like really felt a deep connection to its sincere message that all movies are to be loved blindly especially if someone says that you should. That's just my personal opinion though. I'm sure you have your own thoughts on this which I do respect ofcourse.
Full disclosure, I was invited to the early screening of this episode on the promise that I would blindly praise it, and personally, it's the best podcast I've ever seen.
HAHAHA PIZZA ROLLS!!! I recognize that reference! *clapping intensifies
you guys are a national treasure
what do you mean "national"?
Thank you Milwaukee
Very Cool Milwaukee Very Cool
I re-watch this series all the time to remind myself that there are sane human beings on the planet
I literally got a tear in my eye reading this. Yeah, it's so true
Being parodied by RedLetterMedia should be considered as an honor.
Yeah! Be proud to hit that level of terrible that can no longer be ignored.
grayfox1471 collider is shit now.
Are you stupid? They're more popular now than they were last year, and the year before that, and the year before that. They've tripled their cast and crew, how stupid do you feel dumb fuck?
Do you know why they've gotten bigger? BECAUSE THEY'VE GOTTEN MORE POPULAR. More popular = more $$$$. The Movie Trivia Schmoedown is fucking amazing, literally every major film syndicate on the internet participates (except RLM because they would get crushed): RottenTomatoes, What The Flick, IGN, Flickster, Chris Stuckmann, Jeremy, ScreenJunkies, Witwer, Machinima, etc. How do you think they manage to get all those different people from a variety of networks? Because they're popular and appealing, unlike your stupid teenage ass. Your parents should have aborted you.
George Dano I hope this is satire because this is just so sad.
George Dano popular =/= quality by the way
I'm dying, fuck, every little detail is parodied to perfection.
Pallid85
Do you know what exactly they're parodying though? I couldn't quite grasp it
Most youtube reviews of Rogue One? The way they handle themselves is from Collider VIdeos, NerdCrate is from half of podcasts and reviews, etc.
Im pretty sure its Collider's Jedi Council.
pretty sure they are parodying screen junkies
Collider Movie Talk.
Was this a dig at the Collider Movie Crew?
I think all of them. Schmoes, Junkies, Collider etc etc. They are very on point with this video, in my opinion.
Vinton Bonner yes, check the bouncing TIE fighter
Lol sure seems like it. I like collider but this is spot on and hilarious. Gotta admit they can be very fanboyish at times.
For sure
Vinton Bonner
Mike seems to be doing a good John Campea.
I love how this first episode is pretty tame but by the end, they became more and more of the caricature.
And Collider still managed to out-cringe them in sincerity.
I tried to watch the Collider review after this and I lasted about 90 seconds before I couldn't take it seriously.
Same! Now, whenever I feel the need to cringe, I'll watch the comparison videos out there comparing Collider (and others) to Nerd Crew... But I have to watch through my fingers, it's just so painful!
I actually would listen the FUCK out of a RLM podcast.
I was super sad when I figured out what they were doing about 4 minutes in... :/
Keeleon Ohms wtf man it's obvious satire from the third sentence
Mitch Gosser they have movie "watch along commentaries" on the band camp site. those are pretty fun to listen to.
Overall, this crew is hilarious. Their commentaries are pretty solid and it would be great if they did more like this!

Brig. Gen. Jack D. Ripper It just adds to the density of the film. There were so many things going on in those personally's.
Aurelian Well, I don't wanna speak for myself, but I DO, personally, also love this comment, as well.
Aw man, I miss the Nerd Crew. I realized there probably will not be any more, but watching these three riff on the insipid TH-cam Disney/Marvel/Star Wars review culture was an absolute fucking delight.
The Madame Webb episode was a great return. I guess the type of channels they're parodying have changed and the superhero film peak/star wars sequel time period has long gone by now
Are they making fun of Collider? It's hillarious...
Probably all of em.. a little bit of Screen Junkies in there too.
me personally thinks you should watch Collider's video again
Yes they do.
Sounds like Tested podcasts a bit too (but I do like their other content!)
i love collider, but this is great.
RedLetterMedia will go down in history of TH-cam as the prime entertainers and critics. how can they be so good at pointing out the corrupt idiots, making valid points, teaching us about movies and culture AND be this fucking hilarious. hats off to you guys.
"Life has too many villains. That might sound very profound... because it is."God bless RedLetter Media!
Seeing how much Mike likes to make Rich laugh is adorable. True love.
They would find each other in any universe
Was the TIE fighter purposely placed so Rich would keep bumping into it?
It was stylistically designed to be that way
Justin Mitchell help! Do I put my poop in my mouth before I flush it down or after?????
Of course!
Every shot is so dense...
There's so much going on.
Is this replacing Black Nerd, AVGN, Chris Stuckman, and Angry Joe?
Didn't AVGN only say it was okay?
God I hope so, these no talent hacks are better than those other no talent hacks!
AngryJoeShow they kinda are more talented then you, no offensez
J Dee Carter are you five? look, I have no problem mocking these movie reviewers, hell, I despise Jeremy Jahns myself, but you're just as bad as them for making shit jokes like that
Belle Granger stuckmann said it was okay
4 Rogue One videos in 2 weeks? You guys really hate this fuckin' movie.
Nope, they thought it was just fine, the more RLM, the better
fuckwad I disagree. It suckin' fucks!
Richard Cano they are making fun of the fanboys that take perks from Disney in exchange for positive reviews. Sites like Collider NEED to be made fun of. It's not even so much about the movie but the people that are corporate whores
Maintenance Renegade they made that episode in a far, far more antagonistic light than they ever do with any other HITB so of course that was going to be the reaction
MILKING IT
"This movie will not be forgotten in the next 50-100 thousand years" nearly made me spit my shit out laughing
You were drinking shit?
@@arfarfarf256 you beat me to it by 3 weeks… 😂
I read this comment before they got there in the video and still laughed so hard😂😂😂😂 thank u
Just ordered the new Geek Crate™ ! I am such a nerd, that no matter what I get I will love!!!!
Upvote if you also ordered one!
Jakoo What about nerdbox? I personally, love it more
Wait till you see this month's Nerd Box, it's awesome.
WOW another collab short and a pop funko. AWESOME!!!!!
Jakoo upvote? this aint reddit cuz
Nerd Box is a cheap knockoff of the Geek Crate™. They're like Whoopie Cushion™ and FartBag
What rabbit hole is that, and what do you think he will find?
I heard it was mostly due to re-shoots
5% re-shoots
Khechari All I can do is smile :)
It's a better edition than Rogue One
I'm really glad you guys did this. This video adds a lot more layers to the Star Wars Mythos.
It's so dense, every frame has so many things going on
The ten-year-old me would burst into tears if I told him that in 2016 there would be a Star Wars movie that I would not buy on DVD because I just don't care.
Max Mustermann even worse, not watch on Netflix because it's so boring
And what would ten-year-old me say if I told him, in 2017, there’ll be a Star Wars movie so bad you’ll want to burn the DVD.
Same here, Niven42.
rotz 2.0 You’re late to the party.
No u.
It's like this is a war documentary of the internet
They really Ken Burned them.
Wow. _HOW EXCITING!_
I had no idea the people they were parodying even existed until today. Now that I do, this is friggin hilarious and a genius imitation of it.
What channels would be those
Collider, Chris Stuckman. Some others as well I think
ScreenJunkies, Screen Rants, The Jedi Council, some of the people on Channel Awesome; there's so many now...
@@vash47 Collider's review of the last jedi is uncannily similar to this, its unbelievable I couldn't imagine this shit was real.

Rich has incredible, underrated timing ability.
Sorry guys, you didn't really nail the typical nerd podcast; you didn't have the token hot chick that knows little about Star Wars. Maybe put Susan in a dress next time.
wait who's susan?
1 1 the pretty one. she sings down at the manhole on thursday nights.
Maybe put Rich Evans in a dress next time, please.
Ever seen anything Screen Junkies have ever done? :D They make talking about nothing for two hours look easy...
Rich Evans is the token hottie.
Thank you internet for RedLetterMedia
This never gets old. I constantly revisit this and the other episodes.
It's so good.
“I am Rich Evans, and I am a giant pile of horse shit.” is one of the best intros of all time.
Can’t believe that I haven’t watched any of nerd crew until now. Been mainly watching half in the bag. What a disservice to myself. Me, personally, I loved this podcast. Perfect in every way. Flaws, if any, are not worth discussing. Bravo, gentlemen 🤣
the drinking loudly was spot on...if only they had a ton of ice in the glass that we could hear clinking around
I never get tired if these I've seen them all a dozen times
12:42 The camera cut to Rich using every fiber of his being to not laugh is priceless.
I love Rich Evans.
May he rest in peace.
This is a level of sarcasm I aspire to
My wife and I saw The Force Awakens only once and we could name every character.
Daniel Jeramie It's because everyone in The Force Awakens had one syllable first names, and no last names.
***** You're probably right. Which one was Jyn again?
You serious? You think character memorability in film comes down to fucking syllables?
The Manic Boy Not what I'm saying at all. But it's helpful for the mouth-breathers when all your main characters have three letters in their names (Rey, Poe, Fin, Han, Maz...)
"Nerd Box."
*Rich finally loses it.*
Good job lads, cheers all round.
I never understood why he lost it at nerd box. Is there a joke I'm missing?
@@mopslikvonstein I think it was just the accumulation of absurdity and stupidity through filming this whole thing. Straw that broke the camel's back. Too much nonsense said with a straight face.
@@mopslikvonstein - Because they were just done chilling for "Geekcrate", with Chris barely holding together. Next add: *"Nerdbox"*
@@mopslikvonstein Box = lady vagina
@mopslikvonstein it's because geek crate and nerd Box are obviously competing services...ang the nerd crew will take whatever sponsorship they can . I.e no ethics. Also I think it was improvised by Mike so Jay and rich just lost it.
me personally, i loved this review
Mitch Hop me personally,i loved this comment about you personally, loving this review
me personally, I loved this review, this comment, and the many different valid opinions on the use of the phrase, 'me personally'. me personally, I love and agree with everything.
4 out of the last 5 videos have been shitting on Rogue One. If I cared more about Rogue One, I'd be fucking pissed right now.
I'd say the first two were, but the last two are more about fanboy culture and Screen Junkies.
It's fair criticism. Should fear of hurting your audience's feelings discard critical thinking? Also Michael Bay is a bad comparison because he holds, or at least shows no ideals in his movies. Just dumb crowd pleasing diversion, like Collider.
The only thing i love about the new star wars extended universe is that there will be more red letter media videos about star wars
You're in the Red Letter Media Expanded Cinematic Universe, now!
Yes, preach!!
@@jakubrybicki6864
Listen, fucko. Are you asking for a knuckle sandwich?
Very true. I found myself experiencing the same thing more than a few years ago with the Hobbit films. None of those dwarves felt like individual characters. And even though I could name their names from the book, I couldn't tell you what face was who.
You better make this a regular thing, you hacks!
it's now your fault that they won't :(
its best if they change up more often. as its an one to 3 shot deal at best. save it for when its needed
I wonder what the guys from Collider Video think when they see this
Don't think they care...
John Campea was afraid to watch it at first, but then he decided to watch it and thought it was funny.
How did you guys know? Did they make a video or article about it? Curious.
Christopher Aquino He talked about it in his latest mail bag video.
Checking that now. Thanks.
Sorry about my English.
word
Your English was great, my friend! Excellent comment.
Koncz Dávid stop bragging about your perfect English guy
His English isn't perfect LOL. You guys probably got an F for English. This guy is a B+ at best like Wtf is "used irony and sarcasm" that phrase makes no sense. Wrong used of tenses and grammar lol. Also "Sensational videos"?!?!?!?! It's only one video...
Me personally think your english is awful. I give it a 11/10.
this is so fucking perfect

both...
Vyacheslav Molotov is his crippling depression replacing his crippling lonliness?

I've read that same joke on YT 5 times posted TODAY. I'm just pointing out that this kind of shit is really grating. Make up your own jokes next time and you won't have assholes like me calling you out. :)
That little knowing look that Mike gives Rich at the end of the video just shows how long they’ve been friends and how good there friendship is. Loved it.
I'm actually surprised this didn't have a moment when all three of them were sipping out of their cups simultaneously.
Further reason why RLM is the only movie review channel I watch anymore. Tired of this kind of BS on other channels. You guys are like the Mark Twain or Jonathan Swift of our time. This is right up there with A Modest Proposal.
wow there destroying Jedi council talk, especially campea....
especially campea!
Lol, rant and all
Is Jedi council much different than regular movie talk?
Me personally, I disagree.
It's more about there pundit talk and the lack of analysing it as a film and automatically giving it a like out of geek and corporate sponsoring. Hence all the toys in the back ground, the geek create etc
They were spot on.... Still though I love collider.
The way this series starts off so subtle and just keeps ramping up the parody/satire is amazing
