Used to love that place (Portsmouth location), but haven't been in a while. I feel like it lost a bit of its charm after it went under new management, put in a bar, hired a host, etc. Maybe it was just a rough patch. I'll be moving to NH this year, so maybe I'll give it another try. Any ramen is worth a try in my book.

I put Everything Bagel seasoning on so much stuff. Trader Joe's has a pretty great seasoning grinder selection too & they're only $1.99-$2.99 for a pretty decent sized glass jar. One of my favorites is called Every Day seasoning blend & it is fabulous on pretty much everything but it's especially delicious on homemade potato wedges. It's very peppery with a great kick of salt without having to add loads of salt & it's also nice & garlicky. I'm going to include my easy wedges recipe below so feel free to read on if you wish.
This is an oven recipe, I do not own an air fryer but this would be great in an air fryer as well, you'd just need to adjust the cook time.
Choose your favorite potato, wash them really well & cut off any bad or bruised spots but leave the peels on, make sure to poke some holes with a fork to let steam escape
I usually use 6 med sized potatoes because that's what fills my baking sheet
Next step is the microwave which cuts off a huge chunk of cooking time & makes a much better end result
Each microwave has a baked potato button, if you're making 4 potatoes hit the button twice, 6 potatoes hit it 3-4 times. You want the potatoes par cooked so they're softer but not falling apart when you're trying to cut them. Let them sit in the microwave for about 5-10 min after it dings, it'll keep the peels from drying out while they're cooling enough to handle them.
Remove from microwave & preheat oven to 450°F
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil & spray with 100% canola oil or any non-stick oil as long as it's 100% oil, I suggest canola because it has a higher smoke point, won't impact your flavor choice, it's heart healthy & it's very affordable, you can get an 8 oz can at Walmart for less than $2.
Slice your potatoes in half & slice each half into 3-4 wedges depending on how big you want your wedges, line them up on your baking sheet, they can be really close together so squeeze them in if you've got a lot. One they're all on the sheet use the same 100% oil you sprayed the foil with & generously spray the wedges making sure to get both sides of your wedge, you Do Not need to flip them & spray the bottom. Once they are sprayed you can season them with the seasoning blend of your choice, I use the Every Day seasoning blend that I mentioned above along with some herbs de Provence but use whatever herbs & seasonings you like best, if you're planning to use Everything bagel seasoning wait until the end or the sesame seeds will burn. At the very least salt your wedges before putting them in the oven.
Pop them in your oven for 10-15 min checking at 10 min, you want them to be cooked all the way through & just slightly golden on the outside. Once you've reached this point pull them out of the oven & turn on the broiler, taste one of your wedges (careful they are VERY 🔥) add more seasoning if needed then give the wedges another generous spray of oil before popping them back in the oven under the broiler. It usually only takes 2-3 min but watch very closely so they do not burn & rotate your baking sheet if necessary. Once they have a deep golden color remove them from the oven & turn off the broiler. You can give them a final sprinkling of salt or your seasoning blend at this point if you like, I know you're supposed to let them cool for a few min so they're still nice & hot but not scalding but I have a hard time waiting, your house will smell like fresh French fries plus the amazing toasted herbs you chose. My favorite way to eat them is pretty classic, super cold ketchup but you can dip them in anything that makes your heart happy, enjoy 😉
P.S. I understand that this isn't a new or complicated recipe, but all of us start learning to cook at different stages of our lives & simple things like homemade potato wedges is a good way to try something that's pretty simple & to make your own flavor profile since potatoes will take on any flavor you add going from bland to aromatic & big flavor delicious. I hope you're doing well.

This reminds me of 'Dragon Noodles.' The sauce is siracha, soy sauce & brown sugar. You cook any kind of noodles per package directions. Melt butter, add garlic & cook in 2 eggs or so. Add noodles, sauce & eggs together. I often make it adding broccoli. Delicious & easy. I think I'll try adding the everything seasoning to the butter/egg mixture next time.

When I spice up my beef instant ramen I always add in a little beef better than bullion, Mrs Dash table blend, curry powder, and red pepper flakes, and of course I garnish with lots of green onions. I so badly want to make my own chili oil next and start experimenting with mixing egg yolk in to the broth like the viral tik tok ramen. I also need to find some kewpie mayo as well.

I just started using the Everything Bagel Seasoning, especially on boiled eggs, and I love it. I am however, a ramen fiend, so I will definitely be trying this. I think I would leave out the brown sugar, and just go with a soy/garlic sauce, and would top with Trader Joe's Chili Onion Crunch, which has paprika, garlic, chili flakes in an oil, which is wonderful with ramen. Highly recommend.

so I just finished making this for my daughter and I. It was freekin amazing. Im not an egg person I dont like the farty taste that eggs give to some dishes, but u were right it coats the noodles and makes it creamier. Sooooo good,

I agree with butter and soy sauce smelling amazing. I always say they should make an air freshener that smells like onions, garlic and mushrooms sautéing in butter. Yankee Candle needs to get on that.

Made this for lunch today! Delicious! I didn't have Everything bagel seasoning so I just topped with sesame seeds, and I just used a tiny pinch of crushed red pepper flakes because I can't handle spicy. This sauce reminds me of my favorite Thi dish, Pad Se Ew! Yummy!!

I actually do sometimes put everything bagel seasoning on top of the ramen. Usually will a fried egg and green onions. Didn't know it was a tiktok thing. I just tried it on a whim.

How long do you fry your egg? Do you lay it on top of the ramen?

    • @animeandanimals
      @animeandanimals 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@sara_c907 I dont really time it so much as go by the look of the egg. I like the yolk a little runny. I lay it on top of the ramen and tear the top of the egg open because the yolk adds a slight richness to it. I know everyone has their own preferences though.
