Wow, such an interesting list. Lots of games I've never heard of. Oftentimes, most boardgame channels will end up listing the usual suspects among their best, and while you had a few of them, you also mentioned a lot of not so well-known gems. Thanks for the video, guys!
Legendary is probably the game we continue to collect every expansion… so yeah, we probably have you beat by a little. Classic signs of “we gotta go outside” 😂😂😂
I like the recap. I'd like to also see a recap showing the crossovers. I find when there's agreement it's a good sign the game has more universal appeal.
@@keith2570 Our son has Galileo Project, we have played it once. According to BGG, I (Katy) won it. I don't remember much about the specifics, but I do remember enjoying it. Might have to have them bring that one back over again. I have never heard of Fertility, might have to check into that one.
Nice to see more board game channels. You put my most hated game and my favourite game as number one. Firefly is the best. Terraforming Mars. Way Over Rated. may be i did not give it a chance. but played once and sold. Group did no like . Firefly the best game. takes a longtime with setup . so good.
Hey Greg, if you like stronghold. ghost stories and siege of runedar, have you played carnival zombie? I like that one over the others, but I haven't played stronghold. It's worth a shot if you have yet to come across it
Don’t fall into the Queen trap. Bruges is better. The only of the City Collection that Queen actually improved is Amsterdam (Macao). The abysmal iconography and lack of language on the cards in Hamburg make the game practically unplayable. Everyone I know who has played it concurs.
Oh we have no intention on replacing Bruges. Or any of the other Feld games we currently own. We don't have Macao, but have tried Amsterdam. I think it warrants another play, we both had a rough time with the first play.

Haven’t played Gaia Project, and though we have Terra Mystica, it doesn’t come to the table often. If it did, it would no doubt have been in there for at least one of us.
Hello! Thanks for the lists! Do y'all rank games on BGG? I ask because I'm wrapping up a two-year labor of love tracking content creators' top game lists, and I'm including their BGG rankings. So would y'all be willing to share your BGG names if you've got 'em? I'll likely be publishing my results in March (depending on how long it takes to compile now that I'm hitting my 2/29/24 self-imposed cut-off date). Thanks!
TH-cam videos. The plan for now is to start a channel and show content creators' top 100 based on an algorithm I stole from Mitch Hawker's old roller coaster poll. It's a ton of work (about 220 creators with lists sometimes going back years, with well over 3000 games - so it's already taken me months to compile it, and then, to run the algorithm, I've got to basically create potentially hundreds of millions of datapoints), but I'm a little nuts. For each game on the list, I'm planning to refer and link to the creators who placed the game highly. I thought about taking snippets from the content creators' videos, but even though that would clearly fall under fair use rules, I don't want to piss anyone off. I'll likely make the data itself available once I'm finished with the videos, though I'd keep to myself how I made the algorithm work. Incidentally, I did find your BGG ratings - over 900, so that's pretty impressive (Vasel has by far the most - easily over 8,000 - took me a week to get through that one). I think I found two that Katy uses, but she doesn't have many games rated (under 20 from what I saw). @@gregbauerleTMS
Katy here. I don't typically rate games, Greg does that. We use his profile almost exclusively. I am not sure which profiles you found for me, I only have 1 in my name that I don't think I've ever even used! LOL I used another for a brief while to track our travel collection, (haven't even looked at it in over a year) and for a very brief moment I was tracking stuff on that, but it was a joint rating based on our early podcast reviews with 2 other people. If that's what you found, I definitely would not use them, especially in my name. LOL They are most definitely not MY ratings alone.

One question - can I assume that you've played the games Greg rated? In any event, can I assume that you've played all the games Greg rated? It seemed from listening to your top 100 that you made sure you both played all your games, but I didn't want to just assume that. We've only had one play of Thunder Road, and Greg loved it. I truly enjoyed my play, but it's a bit confrontational for me (Katy) -- though I can definitely see the appeal for a lot of gamers!
Comparing Heat with Thunder Road feels like comparing a marathon run with a Black Friday run, Flag Football with Rugby, or Yoga with MMA lol Almost completely different games.
I love both Amazonia and Kingdomino! (Obviously… LOL). I’ve only gotten to play Guillotine once, but I definitely enjoyed it. I definitely want to play it again. Camel Up is a good game, not really my speed, but I definitely see the good bones on it. We actually played that on one of our live marathons, don’t remember which one now. I’d have to look that up.

Hamburg had additional language cards that I added on once I saw how abysmal the iconography on the cards were. Made it much better.

why is everyone putting Heat above ThunderRoad? Heat is so BORING compared to thunder road. I'll never play heat again while thunder road exists
