Which is a better option as a portable speaker? How much louder and fuller is the 300 in comparison to the 200 based on the price gap? In India the price difference is ₹10K ~ 120US$.
Hi Danny, great reviews! I’ve actually watched a huge amount of your vids and some of other people too and it has to be said that not everyone out there has what it takes to be so natural and funny on camera but you seem to have it. Entertaining yet informative and they look great too, Your videos are a pleasure to watch and I’m about to get a Marshall tufton based off your great comparisons.. thanks!
@@DannyPopsi heard in the video you said the 300 was actually louder than the woburn 3, thats kinda crazy considering the size differences right? Anyway just wanted to say your videos about the marshalls and authentics have convinced me that i need more jbl in my life, i think im gonna try the 300 just to have that battery
Massive massive thanks to you, Danny. When it comes to making my purchase discussion for any speaker, this is the go to channel. Let alone the incredible image and sound quality of your video. It is simply enjoyable.
From what I hear, the JBL 300 seems to be the most balanced soundwise, the Marshall's sound is a bit muddy by comparison, specially the Acton and the Stanmore... But it could be my ears. Thanks for this review Danny
Great review Danny👏 I am going to order the JBL Authentics 200 now that you confirmed the 300 was good but too expensive. I don't need the battery, but as an Android user with a large library of hi res music, I need Chromecast.

Hi Danny...awesome review....ACTON 3 is currently 299 ( Canadian ) ... 215 ( US ) ......would you say thats a great deal and worth the money ? thx bud...the JBL AUTHENTICS 200 is 499 here in Canada.....in your opinion is it worth 200 more than the Acton 3 or does the marshall win pound for pound ?...cheers from Canada
my wife and i had tickets to future islands. we were so excited to see a show after covid mandates were done. i asked when future islands was. and she was like two days ago. we totally forgot about it the week of.
I've been interested in this speaker. I bought the Stanmore III (sounds phenomenal) - but I'm returning it because I didn't realize that it doesn't have a battery. I'm looking at getting either this JBL 300, or the Marshall Acton III - but the prices are quite different. Which would you recommend, purely based on sound quality and price? For less money, is the Acton III considerably inferior sounding? Thanks so much in advance for the detailed reviews! I'll definitely use your affiliate link, whichever I decide on. Happy to support a fellow Canadian's content!
300 is a portable speaker, the Klipsch is not. Not the same category. Like comparing a car to a motorcycle. If its just in-house listening (you never move the speaker) the Klipsch is superior...if you wanna take it to the back yard, obviously you cant...you'll need the JBL 300...but i you want to take it even further, the JBL is too big, you'll need something smaller. Depends on your needs.
Hi Danny, nice review, as usual - easy understand. Today in Brasil, 04/24 - price of JBL Aut. 300 is the same of Marshall Acton 3. Marshall does not have technical assistance here, JBL does. But soundwise, according to your review, Authentics 300 is more suitable for indoor use, compared with Marshalls…?
Great video! I saw in another clip that the authentic 300 has some sort of spacial awareness and calibrates its sound based upon the room. Any validity to that? Or maybe a future test with the authentic line up.
@mdhf532 a lot of speakers have this ability but it makes zero difference to me in terms of sound quality. Even the bose flex does it. It would be so difficult to try and record.
The JBL sounded a little more focused on the music, less width but more depth. The small Marshall had less focus and more width but not as deep. The big Marshall was kinda a mix of both although the soundstage didn’t sound as realistic. JBL FTW on this one, imo. ✅🍿
Hey, quick question i bought this speaker and I couldn’t be more happier with it, but I been wanting to know if I leave it plugged does it drain the battery or something? Or should be fine?
Hey Danny, i'm enjoying your videos and recently bought an Acton 3 after watching your videos which i'm really happy with. Keep videos coming. Btw, are you going to keep it for your collection or return it?
Could you mention the total watts or separate watts (ie: tweeters/bass) for every speaker system you are conducting a review under. Actial Prices per speaker is welcomed...
Please do a review on the Turtle Box Audio and do a comparison on that speaker to. The V2 is better than the V1 i own. The V1 Bluetooth watching TH-cam doesn't match the lip movements but the V2 does and has better button layout. But for it's size and weight it's LOUD AF 120db on a 6x9 speaker. Turtle box audio had room for improvement but i keep emailing them to make it BETTER but they don't come out with the next best thing. Just great art work and limited edition to fishing and country music crap I'm not very country for that edition. If i could get a custom edition to my type of MUSIC i would definitely upgrade. For $400 it's really not bad for the turtle box 🐢.
Hi i am deciding between marshall x authentic JBL to get what will be more fine with conectivity on pc? Or I should rathert just buy the kipsch heritage 2.1 ?
Thanks for the music recommendation. Not my usual taste but should come in handy if/when I buy these. I have a unhealthy obsession with audio products.
you should do a distortion test.. because these are very capable of putting out the tightest bass thats why they are expensive in my opinion. And play music @320kbps to see if it distorts.
Hi Danny, this is very useful. Can you tell me if it's possible to hook up my Apple laptop wired to the back as I DJ locally in a small venue and JBL recommend not to use Bluetooth. Is there a comparable portable Bose speaker? Thanks!
@@DannyPops oh Thank you. another question plz, I currently have a Harmon kardon Aura Studio 4. If I buy JBL A300, will you consider it as an upgrade or no?
the biggest worry is the sound quality. wifi bandwidth is insanely more than cheezy bluetooth. meaning, the clarity and quality of sound should be significant. this tells me the bottleneck is in the internal speakers being low quality. playing a flac file over wifi, you should hear a HUGE difference in sound quality over bluetooth. if they sound the same, then there's your problem. clearly jbl went the cheap route, and the wifi is likely the version that came out decades ago, likely wifi-g. still, 1300Mbps for WiFi , vs. only 3 Mbps for Bluetooth is quite huge. the fact that you dont hear the difference is worrisome on the quality of the product.
This thing is 460usd in europe, is there anything close to this speaker (both portable + stationary) around 300 ish? I wish i could conpare few of them in a dtore but there are none around me
Obviously the 500. It has a powered subwoofed and almost 3 times more amplifier power. However it's much larger and more expensive. The 200 and 300 are almost identical in drivers and power. So the 200 is probably the best value
Alr so I can definitely say from my perspective I hear clear mids and highs from the jbl it even has a smooth bass style and Marshall's are missing the clean audio it sort of sounds like the audio is distorted
My mother just won one in the lottery. She is going to send it to me because she hasnt got a clue what to do with it (she will be 85 next month). Me soo happy!!
Wonderful review; thank you! I'm really loving how you bring in a trained ear for quality sound and pit other top brands in to compare them. Since the Orange Box was not compared in the side-by-side, how do you think its sound compares to this JBL unit?
I did do a quick listen to the orange box but it's such a niche product that I didn't put it up. While the orange box sounds great, it "soundscape" isn't as balanced as these - though I suspect it has a better quality speaker system inside - just not the sophisticated Digital signal processing like JBL and Marshall.
Funny how they try to imitate the radio asthetic, but it doesn't provide an radio FM service I'd like to play something for once without wifi, while camping or idk
For me, Marshall has never been worth it, in your try out Marshall sound with more “presence” in mid but with a strange echo, and JBL put more presence on the deep bass absolutely, compared with my B&O, Bose and Sonos I definitively keep JBL as a very decent option (above Marshall)

How does the Bose Soundlink Max compare to the JBL Authentics 300 ???
Jbl sounded much better than other marshall speakers in this video, kinda confusing with your feedback. Kinda biased.
Any clue as to how well it "plays" with the Spotify app or do we have to run Spotify thru the JBL interface/app.
