    Hello, Jay Quinn! Thank you SO much for all of the detail, honesty, and down-to-earth presentation of what OTS is! A one of a kind video set really. I just sat down this evening with my family to watch both of your videos over dinner and really feel like we got a thorough understanding of what to be prepared for. I definitely feel more confident in my understanding of what this path will entail now. *Thumbs up* *Subscribed*
    Thank you very much!

    @25:50 You are talking about how no one looks good at OTS and its the longest you've been without makeup. This is the first video Ive watched of yours so I've never seen you with makeup but I just wanted to tell you that I think you're absolutely beautiful without it.
    Enjoyed the vlog, going to watch part two now. :)

    • @JayQuinn92
      @JayQuinn92  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +kristina mccaleb Hi dear, thanks for watching! There are quite a bit of social workers here! So from what I gather from them, they will work on base at in patient facilities. Everyone's process of joining is pretty much the same, but depending on your speciality you will work with that patient population on your base and things like that. Sorry I can't be more help from that perspective

    I greatly appreciate your openness and willingness to take everyone on your journey. It’s very well done and shows ur vulnerability as well as ur professionalism. I only have one question...and this question obviously comes from someone older with a different mindset than your generation. When you’re given an MRE, u refuse for good reasons, but I feel the point of MRE is, if this is ALL YOU HAVE left to eat and survive, can you? Or would u rather starve. U had the privilege to choose, but I’d like to know, if u didn’t, would you still protest or would you swallow ur pride and eat it?

    • @JayQuinn92
      @JayQuinn92  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching and for your comment. Of course in any other circumstance if push came to shove and I HAD nothing but an MRE I most certainly would eat it for survival. I’m not to boogie to starve myself, I still eat ramen noodles 😂😂

    • @JayQuinn92

      +DANI G MEJIA No the physical part you’ll get used to. It’s just a combination of cardio or strength training everyday. They mix it up with a 5k and other things as well!

  • @thenightdances21
    @thenightdances21 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Congrats!! So you have to take tests? Are they hard? thank you for sharing! I couldn't find anything on TH-cam like you said!
    I'm considering this path but I want to go in as a physician assistant (PA). Are there a lot of older ppl 26 + years old. I'm 26 so I feel like I might be too old.
    Also how hard is the boot camp aspect. Is it a lot of running? Do you have to crawl through mud or anything like that. Also, can you use sunscreen to protect our face? I have sensitive skin. Thanks again & congrats! Hang in there!! Also thank you for your honesty!! This is so helpful!!

    • @JayQuinn92
      @JayQuinn92  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes there are PT test, Air Force test on lessons they teach you, dorm inspections. There are people of all ages. I'm only 25 myself! There are people 35+ here as well! There is PT every morning at 430 am. Yes you can bring whatever skin/healthcare items you need for yourself. You just have to store them in a plastic container per dorm requirements. I will show this at a later time in another part of my video!

      Jay Quinn thank you so much for taking time out your busy schedule to answer my questions! It really means a lot! Hearing this makes me feel better! I'm really thinking about joining either the Air Force or Navy b/c I'm so ready for a new chapter in my life (not escaping home life---I have huge support from my family) if that makes sense!
      It also feels good to know that there are other ppl our age & older!! (had no idea you were 25! 🙋🏾)
      Thank you again! I just subscribe & will be watching for more! God blessed & congrats! 💛

      Seeing your message really made me feel better. I'm ready for a new chapter in my life & sometimes worried if I waited to late. I guess my quarter life crisis carried into age 26. After reading your message & Jay Quinn I realized that I'm still able to accomplish my goals if I believe in myself more! You're right..age is not a factor!!

    If I decided to join later in my nursing career (say 5-10 years), would my previous GPA in nursing school be a big factor in acceptance? I had a 3.1 and I’ve heard it’s very competitive. Apologies for the late comment.
