    Thank you for this video and for being so honest. What are your thoughts on the reserves or what have you heard good or bad? I am considering joining the reserves but am unsure and I am in the process of doing my research. Thanks again for your videos!

      Thanks for watching. Reserves is "best of both worlds" approach. Not bad but definately do your research!

    Thank you for this video! I got out of the Air Force 5 years ago, currently finishing my Biology degree and plan to apply for an accelerated BSN program and then try to go back to the Air Force as a nurse. I like that I can get more of an honest perspective of what it's like.

    I have been watching your videos since the COT videos and all I can say is they are great. You are so honest and that honesty is really helping me make my decision as to if I would like to pursue a career as a military doc. Please keep making the great videos!!!

      Yes ma'am, I know there will be a huge difference in what you will be doing and my be happier until you get out. But when you made up your mind ( especially a women mind) it's a done deal.

    can you go in with a bsn and go to school to get crna while in the military?

    • @JayQuinn92
      @JayQuinn92  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the only way you can join as an officer is with your BSN. You can apply for CRNA after being in for 2 years. If accepted you will go to school, AF will pay you a stipend and you owe them time on your contract after graduating

      @@JayQuinn92 Thank you for answering. Also just another question do they keep married personnel together? and how long does it take to promote as an officer?

    • @JayQuinn92
      @JayQuinn92  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it both spouses are military members you can apply for a joint base assignment. Promoting is about every year for the next rank, sometimes a little longer just depending

    I sent you a message on Instagram but I didn’t get a reply. I was wondering if there are any nurses where you are at that are single mothers in the Air Force as a commissioned officer and what is it like?

    I'm a Reservist and that might honestly be a better option for you in the future. You still get to enjoy the freedom of the civilian side and serve the military one weekend a month and two wees out of the year while building retirement and getting education benefits. You still deal with the craziness and unorganization but i look at it as killing two birds with one stone towards retirement and you get to travel as well.

    • @JayQuinn92
      @JayQuinn92  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I have thought about reserves after my contract is over but at this point I think once I'm out I will done officially. I think I want to stick to complete civillian life lol. Thanks for watching!!

      Jay Quinn National Guard, small sacrifice for long term rewards. You won't regret it, civilian healthcare is expensive especially when you have kids and a big family. Not many people are willing to leave O-5 pay of $5,000 retirement pay after 20 yrs of service. Good luck to you.

    • @jundom05
      @jundom05 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Thanks for the honesty. It seems overall, Reservist if not a completely a civilian would be more satisfying to you Ma'am Jay Quinn? Please for those who know, can we clarify the healthcare benefits, educational assistance, retirement benefits and opportunity to travel the world as a reservist. Thanks
