    Thank you for the video! My mother had me arranging flowers as early as four years old. When I was older, I took classes, competed in floral arranging competitions and worked for a florist, but my technique would definitely be old school. I love your simplistic mechanics and extraordinarily beautiful results. I have two baby’s breath crowns to do for a wedding in a couple weeks, so this was perfect timing! Your technique gets the same results in a lot less time. Thank you!

      OMG, Kristen, thank you for the love! I'm always a bit self-conscious because I was self-taught so I do have more simplistic approaches that work well for DIY and new florists....but when I started trying the heavy wiring, and more advanced methods I personally found it put more stress on the product and took a lot more time. And then I went to an Amy Osaba floral workshop and she had a really simplistic approach and that made me feel a bit more confident.
      Sorry, you did not ask for that Ted Talk, but all of that to say, I really appreciate your kind comment. The world needs more folks like your right now! XXXXX, Amy

    Thanks for a great tutorial. How much babies breath do I need for one adult and 3 children? One child is only 2 years old.

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most likely you'll need at least 1 bunch of Baby's Breath for the adult crown and then an additional 2 bunches for the children's crowns to ensure that you have enough and the crowns are full. You most likely will have some baby's breath left over, but we always think it's better to be safe than sorry!

    Can you substitute lavender and use this same technique?

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could do this with lavender! It might be easiest with dried lavender since fresh can sometimes get wilty when out of water. But the technique will work perfectly for creating a crown with most florals.

    How many stems of baby’s breath did it take for this particular crown?

      This one took around 6-7 stems!

  • @eva_1977
    @eva_1977 ปีที่แล้ว

    hi! how many stems were used in this one crown? they are so expensive over here and i don't want to spend more money than i need:-) it would be for a child. also can you do this weeks in advance? i will not have the time very close to the event....i'm laso doing the cake and many more things

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For a child's crown you most likely would only need 1/2 a bunch of Baby's Breath. You'll want to make sure you measure their head first to make sure you're doing the correct size! Since the flowers won't be in a water source after you construct the crown, we recommend making the crown at least 2-3 days before the wedding and placing in a hydration chamber in your fridge. If you do need to do it a week in advance then we would recommend going with a faux option, which you could do at a time convenient to you!

      @FlowerMoxie  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    is 22 gauge still good or i need 24?

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can use 22 gauge but it might be a little stiffer to work with. The thinner the wire, the more flexible it is and easier to twist. You can also use bind wire or pipe cleaners twisted together as your crown base!

  • @366nina
    @366nina ปีที่แล้ว

    I wondering the wire not being cover with the tape is going to uncontrollable

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll definitely want to cover the wire with tape! This will make it easier for the flower sprigs to grip to the base while also making it more comfortable for the wearer. If you're leery about using wire as a base you can also use bind wire or pipe cleaners. You'll still want to cover either of these other options with floral stem tape, but those are other great options!
