This was a fantastic overview thank you! I think I'm going to try No Pong and WooHoo. FYI Recycling is the last resort in sustainable practices for multiple reasons. The heirachy of sustainability off the top of my head in decending order is: Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Upcycle, BioDegrade and last Recycle. So for a product like paste deodorant the ideal solution would be refilling the container, either instore or like glass milk bottle delivery and pick up for washing and reusing which was still a very recent history practice. For a modern example in Australia, "Raw Bulk Foods" will dilever pantry food in washable packaging. When you receive your next order they collect the packaging of the last order, wash and re use. Recycling is not part of the ideal but more so the option with lower but still ecology collapsing collateral damage than others. So when it comes to making a product or package there's a binary choice: It lasts a lifetime+ with washing, or it biodegrades in 100 days. This is the ideal model many are working towards. Because you've already exhibited sustainable considerations I thought you might like to introduce this education to your audience. 😊

I’m still no expert at sustainability and am learning everyday, and anything I learn from passionate people like you, I appreciate! Asides from No Pong and Woohoo, I’d also highly recommend Good and Clean, now rebranded to Goodeau, they’ve changed their formula in their deodorants and have also added powder-to-foam shampoos and soap in aluminium bottles that are amazing! ☺️
I love No Pong and am addicted to the spicy chai and original blend, I just placed an order for their Xmas special which money from this is going to charity. I don't like the roll-ons as they're get quite nasty after several applications and love bi-carb free as can apply straight after shaving and no skin irritation.
I’m with you completely! I love the spicy chai too, and love that they have a bi-carb free version as well, as I’m super sensitive and usually apply deodorant right after shaving too ☺️
i’ve been wanting to sus out natural deodorants so this was super helpful! i knew mac had an empties program but had no idea mecca had terracycle!! makes me feel less guilty about wanting to try kopari😝

I highly recommend the lavender scent of the Viva La Body deodorant! That one's my favourite. I don't find that the patchouli and rose was effective enough at masking BO unlike the lavender 😊 I also found the cinnamon and patchouli scent too strong

And omg, I tried to get into period cups but after some trial and error and lots of research, I figured out I’ve got a really low cervix, but I use other sustainable alternatives like period underwear and reusables and it’s worked out ok! I hear Lunette and Hello Cup are good for beginners though!
